I have just rediscovered King D. I heard some of his work when I was going to a mind-washing plant......I mean , christian school, no, mind-washing plant is a more apt description, in the mid 80's.But since then I have found a little something called reality and logic. And good music, is good music. So fuck the bible thumpers.
@Szederp Agree! This one and another one in Satan's Fall are my favorite solos by Michael Denner. Even though Andy LaRoque is very technical in comparison, they really complemented each other really well on this album. Everything on this album is pure magic.
@adiprai This may be herecy, but I have to tell you, when it comes to old style King Diamond (Before Graveyard) Abigail is my least favourite. The Eye contains much progressive material and in my opinion the very best guitar solog. It's nuts!
@Szederp That's cool. To each their own! I love the The Eye as well, but I have to admit I wish they had used a real drummer instead of a drum machine on that album. Especially after a legend like Mikkey Dee.
Like It more now then when it first came out with says a lot Mercyful Fate is my Favorite band....

The last section solo with the duble bass and baroque twirls make the finale completely breathtaking
