  • i enjoyed it a lot. thanks for taking the time to upload this movie.

  • Funny how only the very best stay on your mind and can last a lifetime.

This movie deals about life, simple every day facts but shot in a romantic setting, during the best possible era, performed by top actors. Not hard at all to fall in love with all that! It was made when I was born, saw it at first when a child and see this again when 52 yrs. old. This is my all time nr one movie and probably will remain so. Blame it on Mrs Kim Novak for many reasons.

  • @burrymefacedown Douglas, was a lousy husband and a lousy father. Read his first "noval" Son of a Ragman." His language is filthy, and he degrades all of his leading ladies, with " I slept with every woman in my films..especially Gene Tierney who has a great overbite." He admits he was never faithful to either of his wives. So dream on..

  • @HeatherGlen33 The movie should have been called - The Promise Breakers. Hollywood's influence on society should never be underestimated. The actors were beautiful and convincingly playing their parts. Today's dysfunctional society bears all the evidence. I wonder, if the actors know the impact they would have on future generations, or was it the intend by the producers, directors and writers to bring about the changes?

  • @HeatherGlen33 I personally do not give a ..... about actors real life behaviour, so do today's "fake actors" only what's on screen has my interest. Your negative lines

won't change a thing, and certainly not the quality of this movie. Very poor try! Leave positive comments on the subject pages of your interest instead, so you won't waste your own, and others' time.

  • I must give you many compliments for compiling such great movies.....I hope to see more in the future.....I love your collection and most of all they are full screen movies....many thanks.

  • love kim novak

  • An honest to God Adult situational film... the period, location -- all the comments about this being a great 'time capsule' are spot on. It's astonishing all of California remained underdevolped for so long...

  • Dear JustOneNightOnly, thank you again very, very much for your efforts and selections of wonderful bygone movies which I thought was just a childhood memory. But now thanks to you its been revived for our viewing pleasure. Most grateful. Happy New Year 2012. Malaysia 2/Jan/12.

  • @TheFriend2u You are very welcome Friend2u...You have no idea the joy I get uploading these to people who want and to see them again.........

  • i also loved this movie for the moment in time it so perfectly captured. The architecture, interiors, exteriors, and locations as well as the costumes etc. give the feel and flavor of Calif in the 1960's, and what it must have been like to be upwardly mobile in that era. love Kirk Douglas and Barbara Rush. Kim Novak always seemed hollow, lacking in warmth and energy. but i get why men would find her irresistible.

really stunning is how true and timeless the relationships & their outcomes.

  • @remcat03 I think maybe the "hollow" quality you refer to may have been one of the secrets to Ms. Novak's success. She was a blank canvas for men to paint their fantasies on. An idea Hitchcock exploited masterfully in Vertigo.

  • @grendel963 If you say so. I've only seen her in this, Picnic, Vertigo, and Bell, Book & Candle. In all cases she was gloomy and morose, lacking sparkle, warmth and energy. I need to see some playfulness and sense of humor and I would think a man would too! For Picnic, that was what the role demanded. But all four performances??? She must be the go-to-girl for beautiful and bland. Plus, the high-pitched, little girl voice is a turn-off.

  • I can't believe how many great films you have here!!! Such good taste deserves a compliment. Thank you so much, you are a dear.

  • Nicholas Ray's 1956 film, "Bigger Than Life" is frequently cited as sporting Miss Rush's best performance. However I like her work in this film as much if not more. And she is easily as beautiful as Miss Novak (who I also adore).

  • This was great for so many reasons. story, acting, scenery, relationship and a moment of time of America that I miss.

  • The scenery here is actually the star of this thing. All these great early sixties cars, glamour shots of Malibu and the srubby canyons of So California...ahhhhh.

  • @powergirl901 I totally agree. I think the updates the world wanted to make, to change has been disgusting in almost everything. The updates are violence, ugliness and perversion too.

I see another world here, I see beauty, charm, class, and romance too and Kim Novak was a Goddess, she was so beautiful ! The clothes people wore was so elegant too .Today actresses are NOT stars, they are so gross disgusting.

  • @neneorganico You and millions more. Novak was no goddess. She always dressed the same, hair the same, and voice the same. I never saw her as an actress. Today there is nothing but open sex, 4 letter words, and disgusting scripts. In my youth, we wore pencil skirts, high heels, sweaters or dignified blouses. To apply for a job, I wore a black hat with a veil, touching the eyebrows, white gloves, and a suit. Of course high heels. I cannot accept the "stars" of today.

  • @powergirl901 Thats funny. I live 24 miles from Malibu. Have been here for 42 years. I don't like the ocean, and the property is out of sight. We do have the climate though. The people are in their own world, and have just changed the site from Beverly Hills to Malibu.

  • thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i've been searching for this film for ever! thank you so much!!!!!!!!

  • @DebbiesArtJournal you're vw Debbie.....
