You should probably start playing with a four string. Hell, if they made a three string that'd be ideal for you.

the sustain on this bass is amaizing, are you using an effect to keep the low e sounding for so long?

@alonescool Nope! It is a chambered bass - so that probably helps with the sustain. That was one special bass!

I should have seen that coming. So the signal chain goes: bass -> rh450 -> laptop? They sound great together.

If I were to venture a guess on the settings on the bass...

Single coil mode, preamp engaged, both magnetic pickups full on and piezo on 80 percent?

Actually, signal chain is bass - RH450 - Boss RC-50 Loop Station - Line 6 UX2 (digitizing, no modeling) - laptop.

And for various points in the recording you are correct, but on the slow section it is piezo only.

I really like this tone you are using for the looping. What are the settings?

The piezo pickups really show on the slow part you do at 7:03 or so. The bass sounds very acoustic guitar like up there on the C string.

And Oh so funky at 9:00! LOVE that sound.

This bass has a very nice solo voice, doesn't it. I love it.

I'm using my TC Electronic RH450 for the preamp - bass and treble boosted a bit, cut some mids, add some compression, gain set to 10 O'clock... The bass has treble and bass boosted to 70%, mids boosted to 20%.
