  • It's a disappointment that not only did the show last for only 13 weeks, but the third pilot is the only known existing episode. :(

And from that pilot episode, it seemed like a good show too. What a shame. :(

  • looks like press your luck lol

  • @retroguy1976 That's because Second Chance was created by Bill Carruthers, who would go on to create Press Your Luck.

  • I'll take a second chance so I don't press my luck. Even for a game show theme, its a bit short, but still pretty groovy.

  • This to me can make a perfect Sonic BGM. In fact, this has the 16 bit groove going.

  • I blame the penny pinchers at ABC.

$20,000 limit! I can get more money from the government!

  • Because they did not want to spend the money to buy tapes and storage space so they erased the tapes.

  • Does anybody notice that the theme on here sounds a little faster than on the pilot episode.

  • This is a great theme, thank you so much for uploading it.

  • SecondChance looked pretty much the same as Press Your Luck. Just 70s. HAHA

  • No kidding.

  • @southernfratdude same format, same company, so yea

  • The theme song heard here is an amazing one to say the least. It conveys a fun atmosphere where contestants are playing an unpredictable game. As exciting as its successor show's theme was, this theme was good in it self. It's based on the catchyness & the fact we keep it in our heads for the hours to come. It's a 5 star theme by the way because of the fact that it fits in with everthing; the set, game, & atmosphere. It could have ben a successful show but it wasant; proven false years later.

  • I dig that theme song! I also like the bass lines as well. Sounds like a Fender Precision Bass, but I could be wrong.

  • Its from Score Productions

  • Looks similar to PYL's (80s) board. Was the show similar to PYL in any other way?

  • Yes it was! It is considerd the predicessor to PYL. They were both produced by the Cauruthers Company.

  • and the Devil became the animated Whammy!

  • Yes it did

  • Where did you get the last image?

Cause with those screenshots I believe there's a guy out there who's got the full pilot.

  • It came from Adam Nedeffs Website. IF you go there, its the link with all the openings and closings.

  • So I bet the Second Chance theme in this video is not remixed or anything cause the site had the show opening audio and we can hear the exact same theme.

  • Look on Adam's website, and you'll find an audio opening thanks to Ernie Anderson's game show theme collection!

  • I heard that opening to i'm sure if he knew that the show would be erased he would have recorded more.
