@Pooternackle5 Mormonism is a parasitic religion which attaches itself to a Christian society like a leech. It uses Christian terms to mascaraed as Christian however their definitions are different. They rewrite history to glorify their heritage and whitewash the dirty side of reality with their happy family spin. Those who have a true Christian conversion have a difficult time getting untangled from the Mormon maze of deception. I have watch this for 30 years.
@Pooternackle5 Thats what I call inviting in the devil to keep the heating bill down. Mike Evans even wrote & told me Beck is a Christian. Rather odd that Beck is uploading present Israel videos to the same site that displays his Mormon conversion testimony & glorious remarks about his Mormon faith. Mormons are a slippery bunch & many naive Christians live in a fantasy world where facts don't count (unless they support their agenda). And strangely enough, I am a Christian.
If David Barton was such a bible believer he would have read the verses that tell us to avoid hanging with false teachers and prophets like Glenn Beck the Mormon. Barton needs to take some basic classes on biblical apologetics.
David Barton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious education from Oral Roberts University in 1976, so he's not a qualified historian. I wonder how many times he has been published in any peer review journal on early American history. He's just a snake oil salesman.
What a fucking nasty piece of work this Barton cunt is. No wonder the extreme right loves him. Get your fukken religion out of the schools and out of the government.
I know he's wrong to claim the US as some kind of theocratic state.
But you don't even need to historically debunk him. The idea in itself is ridiculous: I unquestioningly go along with a historical document (constitution), in order to uphold and implement another historical series of documents (the Bible).
The whole thing is predicated on irrational logical fallacies. So it isn't just debunking bibles and false history, its ALL appeals to authority, without basis, including the constitution
It's not Barton... his kind will always exist. It's the bible itself. This book must be shown to be the book of fairie tales that it is. We need to mock the faith of the sheep. We need to laugh at our family, friends, workmates whenever they mention their god. It is time we, the realists, take the world from the fantasists. We are the only way forward. As long as the bible has power in the minds of the proles, it will be a danger to our civilisation. It is time: Give up god.. for good.
Barton lied. It's that simple. Let's call a pig a pig, here. He may know a few details about history I don't having been exposed to more, but I have a better record of accurately telling the proper history of the early US than he does, and I'm an amatuer historian!
It's also an unfalsifiable political position. How do you argue with that? Believe in religion or not, they do and how do you argue with someone that believes that. YOU CAN"T! Even christians can't argue each other out of their own ideas.
Damn!!! That's as scary as heaven!!! Theocracy! Here we come!
In other words this idiot is anti-government? I know a lot of people like that. Thay're called anarchists. They, LOOSELY, believe that the people, and by which society, should govern itself and the unified government shouldn't exist.
I hated Barton the first time I ever saw him on Glenn Beck. He has such a gentle unassuming look about him that Christians just eat with a spoon. He is truly a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Christians have been interpreting the bible for two thousand years to serve their own advantage. Why should we be surprised when they turn their attention to history books? Words and books all have special powers for those who preach to an uneducated audience.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Barton looks gay.

@RyuDarragh You and I actually STUDY history. Barton on the other hand just MAKES STUFF UP!!!
You and I (amatuers though we are) are superior to Barton in our knowledge of history and the way we discuss history with other people.

Lol... biblical basis? “Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and give to God what is God's.”
Matthew 22:15-22
Would be interesting to see if Christians would actually follow their own book.
