  • someone should bend a ps3. correction: why has nobody bent a ps3?

  • super mario seizure

  • I want one! So cool

  • deadmau5 uses this maybe or something like it

  • this is seriously so fucking badass

  • I think I lost weight by watching that.

  • Damnit! Now I have to go and listen to the rest of the song. Cool vid btw.

  • congratulations you made the game look like shit

  • Who needs a game genie?

  • Audio going into video and VRAM circuits?

  • @deathworm101 yep. With some circuitry between the audio and the vram; I don't think it would work if you piped the audio straight into the vram.

  • @apleasantnoise That's true, the audio signal would probably damage the VRAM, especially heavy bass.

  • @apleasantnoise Pots, resistors and switches?

  • too bad you voided your warranty. =-P

    this is really awesome though.

  • anybody nintendo can do that by itself if the cartridge is dirty but it's cool you found a way to purposely make it look stupid i guess...........

  • Reminds me of something I saw Shanna do with Castlevania more than 10 years ago, only without the music.

  • nintendo LSD MODE!

  • Its the same as inserting a dirty cartridge..I Ilove the music that circuit bent game was playing!

  • @Bassotronics Daft Punk is cool.

  • would have rather herd the nes then that song

  • Just imagine if the NES cartridge was circuit bent, and the music affected the level. :D Make that.

  • @will4210 I have a bunch of game genie codes I made that changes the game's music. :)

  • so This is what would happen if the game graphic glitch gremlin started making music

  • @monk864 ROFL avgn is awesome

  • that's stupid

  • Looks like you hooked a Microphone on that poor RICOH graphic-chip.

Make the music too loud and it's toast? poor thing...

  • what is the point of this?

  • wut song

  • I love that it plays like normal, it's just the graphics that are fucked up.

  • i got a simmilar effect from stepping on my genesis

  • My Bases Loaded game glitches everytime someone misses the ball >_>

  • You should be kicked in the nuts for fucking up a NES

  • Sh*t

  • super glitch bros lol

  • 0:01 normal, 100% playable

    0:31 Corruption level 1 - pallete distortion

    0:49 Corruption level 2 - WOOT! effect

    1:58 Corruption level 3 - System halt.

  • have u used other cartrades?

  • quite posibly the hardest video game u just made

  • u people are evil

  • That is purely awesome. Sweet bend!

  • ***************************

  • I am error.

  • Lolll nice!

  • I would make a visualization for WMP, if i could.

  • wait so this also produces floors and levels etc that arent supposed to be there?

  • did the same kind of thing back in the day, mario 3 wasnt working so i removed it from its case and removed the top of the nes to get it in, in the process i touched some metal parts of the circut board with a metal tool (plastic handle) and just experimented to get stuff like that, good times

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick

  • wat ikaae rave rape

  • Daft Punk HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER!!! WOOT WOOT

  • should take some digital fotos of the screen as art

  • sell it to me? please? name the price?

  • Bad ass, friend. Post more, please.

  • try blowing on the cartridge or cleaning the connector with alcohol and a q-tip.

  • supa glitchio brothaz

  • Playing Super Mario with that can really cause brain damages. :-O

  • looks like that time i hit a snes cartridge with a hammer than played it

  • Similar effects can be obtained by wobbling the cartridge on a NES with a disabled 10NES

  • Awesome

  • my nintendo system does that by itself without any circuit bending

  • @dontsettlefor500mill hahaha! nice...

  • very very goooood..

  • How does it work?

Some kind of frequency responsive sprite selectrion (grabs pictures from a different part of memory based on the combination of frequencies in the audio?

  • what?

  • I don't really think so, I think the sound input is only going towards the display driver or whatever it has. Maybe it's affecting it to cause the image distort. And the knobs are for controlling the intensity of the input sound. Just an idea.

  • i think this video just gave me a seizure xD jk jk

  • AAAAA Daft Roll'd

  • That would be cool if you could adapt it to a projector for like a club or something!

  • kinda sick of daft punk.

plus i only enjoy circuit bending for making sounds...

but messing with the video was interesting?

    yepyep

    peacepeace

  • nice choice of music.

  • this is great for when you want to play super mario while on an acid trip!

  • No, that's what you said.

  • And that's what you both said...

Sorry, just had to join in!

Dammit, I want a Nes... you're lucky to have one xD

Much better fun than a lot of modern consoles.

  • 1 star for putting the song in.

  • whats the big deal, its just mario on crack...

  • You're an idiot.

  • did you circuit bend the PPU?

  • seizure anyone?

  • one please!

  • did the system crash at the end?

  • why not just dose a couple hits of some good paper before playing???

  • Wow, I'd love to have that on a projector & have that play while I'm playing a concert :D Even better than my Quake idea.

  • Wat a waste of a perfectly good nes !

  • What a waste of a perfectly good space on Youtube, flammablepiss!

  • No, no - its a waste of a Nintendo, the video itself is fine!

  • WAste of nintendo? There are like 60 million of them out there, who the frekk cares about one? And i think its much better the way it is on this video hehe...

  • I do.

  • Yeah thats how many were released now think about it over a course of time wouldent alot of em break?

  • 60 million?

i was thinking of the fact that nintendo doesn't make shit off those old games since they're out of print along with the system, so just downloading the roms and emulators for pc makes those games once again available.

  • Yea but i dont think u can Circuit Bend a Emulator :) Btw, found 2 NES at a friends house he was about to throw away, both worked and were complete. So really, they are still in an abundant...

  • you can code bend an emulator :D

  • indeed you can. have 4 internet points

  • isnt that daft punks song?

  • yes harder better faster stronger

  • needs moar glitch

  • Looks like you only screwed with the PPU

(the video chip) while you were in there did you bother to give it stereo sound via pins 1 and 2 on the cpu? or what about overclocking it?

or cutting pin 4 on the CIC lockout chip so you can forget about the dreaded and annoying "flashing" and play imported games when its not being abused by daft punk?

talk about options! :) this is pretty cool though.

    hmmm empty void to fill....

    CHICKEN!!

    my work is done.

  • hmm,indeed. chicken.

by the way did YOU remember to adjust the rocker arms to exactly 0.4 of an inch of clearence,or instead you could do away with the 1500 mile adjustment perioud and just go with roller rockers then the problem takes care of its self. Also theres the always enduring task of shinchronizing the duel 44mm carbs? but thats some times optional exept for the winter months :D

  • But the dear old NES runs on Electricity and Logic, not Petroleum and Camshafts :)

...plus mine has over 800,000 miles on it and it still works fine ^_^

  • wow. thats so addicting to look at.

  • Nice use of Daft Punks "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" song

  • hmm can u try to do thatr with a Gamecube??? =O

  • How much would you sell one of these for?

  • how mcuh you willing to pay?

  • hahaha

    murdoch

  • that was absolute awesome! I love my NES xD

  • Yeah i herd that there 20KV at all the wires. HaHa no its not dangerouse theres a stepdown transformer.

  • Teehee, I guess I commented on this vid a year ago. I'll do it again but say something else: It's neat how when they said "work is over" Mario fell/died... then when he got the mushroom he was "better, faster, stronger" ;D

  • Or more specifically, when he was running after the mushroom, "faster", then he got it, "stronger" :)

  • dude!!

  • lol i still have my nes

  • That is seriously awesome! The ultimate beat-visiualization machine for geeks! xD

I bet you get a lot of different results with different games too, eh? :D

  • LSD trip of rhythm?

  • Can anyone tell what song this is. Also this is really cool im stil not sure on howw he does this. Ive tryed hooking up pots to ICs and it just shorts out the IC causeing it to not work ; )

  • Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger.

  • How can you live in y2k and not know of this song??

  • On a side note, props to whoever can fucking play Mario with all this shit going on. O:

  • And I misspelled description, yay beer.

  • Hey I don't know anything about circuit bending but is it possible to affect other parts of the game? Logic stuff, like jumping physics rather than graphics. It's be pretty interesting to have the rules of gameplay change depending on what the song was doing.

  • It's a bit like Keepon,

  • i did something like this to my NES but i had my stereo hooked to the audio out on the nes and when i played music on the stereo it could be heard thru the TV but it was staticy

  • could I please get the schematics for the custom made circuit? I would like to watch my Favorite nes games glitch out to some Daft punk, Justice, Flanders and Dirty South.

  • They ddnt make it sound like Daft Punk, u play the music and it Glitches to it, tard.

  • thats not what the description says.

  • actually, footinmouthindustrys, that is exactly what the descriptino says unless it was changed in the last 4 days. BTW, your name is spelled wrong.

  • my name is spelled wrong because youtube didn't give me enough space for ies at the end of it. The link in the description was broken when I tried it.

  • Big deal you bent a nintendo to sound like Daft Punk!

I made an atari sound like The Chemical Brothers! Just kidding.

  • They didn't make a nintendo sound like Daft Punk. They bent a nintendo to respond visually to music, and their music used to demonstrate this was Daft Punk - HBFS.

  • yeah i figured that out at .25 when the bass came out.

  • that would be awesome too!

  • LOL. Mine does that just trying to get the game started without circuit bending. I think its already bent. No work necessary.

    Cool song too.

    lol

  • i have that game and system

  • wohoooooo jesus christ

  • it really came together nicely and love the music

  • daft punk-harder better faster stronger

  • Mario's tripping balls.

  • I think you should sell it, here´s a slogan:

"Ninbento, for all your tripping gaming pleasure" XD

    Good job. =)

  • lol to achieve the same thing in less time just jiggle the cartridge while running

  • There is none. And there doesn't need to be.

  • OK??? LOL

  • someone needs to hear Squarepusher

  • He buys another one for like 20 dollars.

  • that was trippy as fuck!!!

  • o wow. i was sucked in to the screen for a moment. made me really sleepy all of a sudden

  • It's when your brain frequencies change to that of your senses..

  • yay daft punk<3...

    and that's really trippy o.0

  • yes it is harder better faster and stronger

  • w00t daft punk smaples

  • who does this song

  • Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger

    Read the comments :)

  • can u teach me how to break my stuff???

  • haha! how to break a nintendo.. nice

  • the graphics seem to be glitching along with the beat of teh song

  • i noticed that too. it actually fits nicley

  • that was the point of the video, circuit bending!

  • yah dude, circuits go by beats and impulse, they were actually able to get the nintendo to glitch with the tempo of daft punk. It think it's great

  • This is awesome.

  • this is epic

    5/5

  • O_o my nes does that by itself, without music

  • Bad Mario! No more mushrooms for you! Nice job with the bending!

  • this is sick!! great job!

  • I love how many people are seething with hatred towards this video. Good work man, I love how you can tweak it to be playable too.

  • hey! don't you think that you are the dumbass guy ever? You don't even read what ive wrote, unless you not english, you are a really idiot person.

  • wats that song?

  • Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

  • Damn good song too.

  • this fucking rules!#!@#

  • ACID!

  • What music is playing?

I love it, would like to hear more...

    please let me know.

  • daftpunk - harder better faster stronger

  • this look so fake but Im sure this is real. You should try other video with other music to see

  • its real idiot..its called circuit bending. it corrupts data in and out of the main processor making it odd random things, in this case the corruption is caused by the music.

You an do it with some consoles by quickly turning it on and off, which keeps enough data in the memory for it to run, but not enough for it to be displayed properly

  • hey spikeman14, don't you think that you are the dumbass guy ever? You don't even read what ive wrote, unless you not english, you are a really idiot person.

  • spikeman14

Love how you call people idiots, while you define circuitbending incorrectly.

  • What's the song in da back?

  • harder, better, faster, stronger - daft punk
