I just started customizing a few of my figures, and in all honesty this paint works wonders. Relatively cheap and good quality. Thanks for the advice lol.
Taping areas off takes time but makes painting much easier. Careful, masking tape can really stick especially to painted surfaces. One trick is to make the tape less adhesive by sticking it to your fingers (like leaving fingerprints) a small amount of oil from your hand will make it peal away easier (but too much and it won't stick at all). Always clean where your going to paint, a little windex on a paper towel works to remove dust and oils, it ensures the paint sticks better.
Great video, man! I have never had the urge to do a repaint on any figures until I got my Leader Class HFTD Starscream. Now I finally have some general knowledge to do so and hopefully it comes out great. Subbed and favorited!
@Hargrove333 I work out, i've never been fat in my entire life. I eat right and I don't eat junk food and empty carbs. Despite my appearance, i'm quite built. I'm 175 pounds of muscle, 5ft, 9in.
@Remery05 I use Folk Art brand. I use Metallic Sterling Silver, Metallic Black, Metallic Blue Saphire, and Metallic Silver. As well as just regular black acryllic.
Could someone please help me ? Is it mandatory for Basic painting my optimus all black ? i really dont wana paint all my toys custom black paint cause its my first time and i dont wana geet it all black .
@Archerpyro No. Not all of it. Only pieces like the gray plastic. For solid pieces like the armor or legs, or arms, or back panels, you would use metallic paints that match the corresponding color.
help it will be my first time custom painting a transformer ijust am giong to make the red on the toes of rotf leader class optimus silver to make it movie accurate
need help. I never painted a toy before. What do I do if I mess up. When painting all black. I love my Sentinel Prime figure and do not want to turn it all black and fuck it up. Also do I have to take them apart to paint
@Teeheehee093 Taking a figure apart is up to you. I would suggest it for the head and arm pieces, maybe leg pieces as well. But you also don't have to use black as a base, I have Sentinal as well, and his color scheme doesn't need a black wash, maybe for the gray parts, but other than that you can use a black metallic paint for the black parts on his chest.
Should I keep my Optimal Optimus (BEAST WARS) since I will be getting a Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime Leader Class? When I am going to custom paint the Optimus Prime to look more movie accuruate.
hello friend istructivo video, I try to hear my optimus prime Custom Stretched single story with pictures and ue aser you recommend? if you can please contstame
at first i was not much of a transformers fan because i didnt really know it too well but because of you im getting into it alot more i didnt realise it was as good as it is
ohh yea by the way im sorry for my slow post
i just come back from a brief 4 day holiday and their was no computers :-/
gotta let you know why ppl use the testors and other brand name paints: it's because they're quality is A LOT better on plastics and such. folkart paints are not as durable and are not made for customizing figures. i've used em before.
I was wondering if the paint comes off or chips when painting the transformers. I was thinking of using a sealer, thoughts?
