Why was the Station VI written in German?

@paopaomanalansan Liszt combined Catholic with Protestant. Latin - German. It also could be a personal hommage to Bach.

By 6 20 this sounds very much like the repeated choral in St. Matthew Passion of J. S. Bach. Do they have something to do with each other?
