Because of the inclined plane angle of the wedge clubface and steep angle of attack the golf ball is struck below its horizontal centerline generating higher pressure towards the bottom of the golf ball which creates lift. The ball is actually rebounding from the clubface as the golf club is entering the ground where the cambered sole (bounce) helps it to travel out of the ground with minimized resistance. Thanks for taking the time to ask a question.
This strategy has been working very well for me in my past few golf tournaments. My number of up and downs has decreased significantly. Just one question. Would you tell me the loft degree on the sand wedge he was using?

I appreciate your comment re my good technique. As I had mentioned at the start of the video the shot was to spin and then release to the pin. The conditions of very firm greens, downwind and conforming grooves were not conducive to stopping the ball on the second bounce as you and your friends can. So that is the reason for the spin and release shot I demonstrated. Thanks for your interest and keep "Spinning those wdges"
I've been searching all over the internet for someone that can truly spin a pitch shot like two friends and I can. I have not found anybody but you have good technique but the ball did not seem to spin. Also I think it would help if you used a higher lofted club.

isn't bounce creating the spin?

Sure; David was using a 53 degree Vokey Design Spin Milled with 10 degrees of bounce on the sole. The code is SM54-10
Thanks so much for commenting

@mpfgolf usually you get better spin off full shots rather than pitch shots

Thanks for your comments, it's always good to get feedback. I hope it helps you to get more of your shots into the hole in less strokes.

Good instruction here, very helpful. I had a little trouble seeing the hands with the shadow but otherwise great video.
