The A300... or the beginning of the Airbus Legend

I was lucky few times I got the chance to fly the Airbus A300B4-605R (SX-BEK) named "MACEDONIA" operated by Olympic Airways in Greece.

@SAMCAMJAIK1 of course is old plane and many lives were lost by a300 because engineer don't know how to plan a safer plane in these old years but know there already know to manage a safer plane by technologies....you that's why many planes crashes in these old times...but no crashes in present time...

if you compare airbus a300 and Boeing 777 airbus is the first aircraft of airbus while Boeing 777 is much large engine but not wonderful complex design

You can't compare the 777 to a 30 year old design. This is nonsense. Look how many fatal crash has the 737 on its account. Compare it to the 737NG. And you are wrong the 777 had one crash at LHR.

@SAMCAMJAIK1 Technology progresses. Boeing learnt valuable lessons from Airbus in manufacturing aircraft. The A300 is still the pioneer of it all. Without the A300, there will be no B777 today.

I had the opportunity to fly in the Qantas A300 when they flew them back in the mid-90's. What a great aircraft and it brought back great memories! I'll never forget that flight!

The A300 though unliked at AA did a awesome job. Since its introduction there is no plane which could fullfill the task the A300 did for so long. That fact alone speaks volumes about the quality's of the A300! The A300 such an revolutionary bird, will be deeply missed.

Wonderful video for a wonderful aircraft! I´ve had the pleasure of flying in one of the Iberia´s last trip aboard A300-B4 after been retired, and is more confortable than 767 by far!

The A300 is the best aircraft in service at the moment. Simple plane to carry lots of people short to medium distances. Simple designed plane makes me love it even more. I definitely would have this aircraft in my fleet if I had a airline

It was nice to see Boeing lose the US Airforce contract to Airbus, it serves Boeing right for trying to nobble the contract. Darleen Druyun is a name not mentioned much around Boeing these days except when they're cursing her lol..

Boeing did loose because the KC-767 is much inferior then the KC-30. In 4 of 5 requirements the KC-30 won. It carriers more fuel delivers more fuel, is more then 10 year newer technology and is more flexible. So the old history didn't influence the decision.

The A300-600 is very nice but in any case it is (now) a bit old so I am happy but not so happy that Airbus stopped producing it. Does anyone know why they stopped producing the A310-A300 family aircrafts?

Well that would be sad, but i dont think this will happen soon because the A340/A330(my fav) is sharing the same assembly line and its actually selling like hot cakes. I see more danger for the A340-500/600.

I was last week in the Airbus factory and I saw only 2 A340-500 but lots of A330! Airlines like TAM have bought lots of Airbus 330. The 340 is also my favorit and I possibly I will be commanding it in a few weeks!

Please, this has nothing to do with this vid and the A350XWB is since a year on the market and its design not even frozen while the 787 since four years. :/ Do some research before posting and get over the A vs B. Both make wonderful planes. The 787 has a lot of european parts while the A380 a lot of american made parts.

If you call Airbus Scarebus you should know Boeing does have a worse safety record then Airbus. That doesnt mean Boeing Planes are bad. I am a huge fan of the 747 and 757.

Well at the time the A300 came out it was the first plane with a supercritical airfoil. It took Boeing YEARS to catch this. The A300 was much more advanced then anything at this time even the assembly was superior.
