The thing that makes dunks impressive is that it is something regular people cant do at all, being that the average height for a man is 5' 9". You either have to be really tall or be able to jump really high and most NBA players are both. Add to this the fact that even for them, they have to get close to the basket when it is open or try dunking over someone without getting blocked, so basically a successful dunk embarrasses the other teams defense either way. Thats why dunks are impressive.

Wow the assist was WAY cooler than the dunk. I really don't get why dunks are so impressive anyway. I could grab the rim in 11th grade at 6'0" with little jumping practice, so I know that if I would've put some actual work into my vertical leap that I'd be able to dunk by the end of senior year. Big fucking deal. And these guys are like all over 6'4" at least. If you can jump kinda high and you're tall then no shit you're gonna be able to dunk. I just don't see why it's so awesome to people.

@z0mgz0rs Andersen didn't dunk on Gasol. There was no body contact. Mad? Dunking seriously isn't that hard. If you're tall enough and can kind of jump, you can dunk. I'm 6'0" and it's kind of harder to dunk at that height, plus I never took basketball that seriously.

@lasoogneypubes If you're 6'0, there is no excuse you can give as to why you can't dunk. And there was obvious body contact in this dunk. There are plenty of centers/PFs in the league who wouldn't finish that dunk. Not that it was spectacular (the pass is 1000x better than the dunk). Seriously, your comments just come off as someone who is mad that they can't dunk.
