@IshyIMB017 Well it's in a movie so who knows what the director had in mind a when it was being sung, and I'm sure it was what she wanted, but in most opera houses this wouldn't fly. Not because of the pitch, but she's pretty sloppy with her diction and how she releases her notes, but it's really impressive that she could sing that high, the tenor too. It's usually high already for a tenor, and he takes it up even more.

What captivates me in this scene which you do not get in the opera itself is Alfredo singing directly to Violetta in plain sight. I also appreciate the fact that these two are already lovers with a romantic past, where as this moment means everything! Love this movie.

No i am not... never was permited to learn what i wanted which was the sax or the electric violin. So i told them i will no longer play if so.

I sign but there is nothing to compare too. My mom has the real voice not me.. i tried doing some musicals in my past but i could never achieve anything like that. i got the singing DNA, but without practice its useless

Hi. I didn't expect to say hello to Dinah Bryant's daughter!!!

You know there a bunch of people who knew Dinah Bryant in this movie and became opera fan or took a course to become a music composer.

After seeing this movie I ordered all of your mom's CD even to USA. There were limited number of CD available and I wanted more but I did not have a clue. There was no Amazon those days.

I am still fan of this particular performance.

Maybe this was my first Sempre Libera and became my standard.

I always have to watch when i miss mother, because i am in the United States right know and i miss hearing her sing as i did went i lived at home. Well anyways, i know its hard to find, mostly because my mom as not recorded anything in a long time. She does mainly concerts and operas these days. She worked in Argentina for a while and she teaching in at the music school in Brussels.
