Hypocrisy, shortsightedness and neocon types (evangelical or otherwise) are certainly a part of the issue. You brought up drug use and now want to back away from it once it is pointed out that GWB did coke & was an alcoholic into his 40s (the same age Obama is now).

How dare she accept McCain's offer of the VP slot when just months ago she gave birth to a special-needs baby?!? I'm a feminist and certainly believe mothers can have demanding careers, too, but come on, who's taking care of that infant while Sarah Palin is running a national campaign? Disgraceful. Not to mention the 17-year-old pregnant unmarried daughter who will apparently be forced into marriage with a boy who says he doesn't want children. If Sarah's kids don't listen to her, should we?

She is Pro-Life and that is important to me. She seems to be a very bright & capable woman in general terms and has a good political reputation. She is a wife and a mother of (5) so I can't imagine that she would make any hasty, bad decisions that might put her family at risk.
I say we listen to what she has to say and learn as much about her as we can before we make any judgement or decision about her, whether it be good or bad.
Let's give her a chance to prove herself.
