To fix the problem of the lights coming from above, just disconnect the wire from the EL, twist 180 degrees and connect again. Lights should come from the bottom, which is the right way. :)

I just got my VU shirt today from DX. I noticed yours is backwards like mine. :(

Obviously they put something in upside down or backwards...
