Spanky would probably openly admit he was listening to Calvin (amongst others) to get inspiration for where he's at. That's what art and music is about; Communication of a feeling.
My 2 cents. Both are outstanding drummers. spanky is king of off-time rythyms. Calvin is very musical and complements every project he is on. LIVE show = Spanky! DVD/studio recording = Calvin!
