AND those saying it was schrader's fault, can also rot in hell because he actually CLIMBED out of the wreckage and screamed his head off yelling for help.
GUYS the REAL reason he died was because he decline the use of the new helmets and declined the use of a hans device! so at a estimated speed of 195 MPH and at that angle, Dale Sr. wouldve suffered SEVERE whiplash and addin to that, he slamed his head into the wheel. those of you saying it was a little crash and you wanted more, can rot in hell because it HAD to be a fatal crash because hes DEAD! R.I.P Dale Earnheartd (im still kinda messed up with the spelling, is this right?) he will be missed
Dale Earnhardt was one of the greatest drivers in history and Jeff Gordan(both are my favorite)but this was the saddest moment.i was born when he died in 2001 :'(
I saw a car hit the outside wall where there was no SAFER barrier, spin into the grass, get airborn, and flip three times. The engine then exploded. Yet the driver survived. I alsow saw a Carl Edwards flip and slam into the outside wall. He survived. This was a freak accident but still very sad. RIP Dale Earnhardt.
Kind of odd cuz some cars slam into the wall roll over a bunch of times then catch on fire and the driver just steps out and he's ok. I'm not being disrespectful or anything though. RIP
Try crashing almost head on into a wall at 290km/h, it'd result in serious head and neck trauma, and that is how Dale Earnhardt Sr died (or at least I believe that's the case)
Dale wasn't wearing the proper gear he had some of his rigging off which stabilizes your head during a impact like this one. Have to think he hit the wall at 150-160mph.
Well I'm sure he hit the wall with 150mph.. but most of the momentum was sideways.. The actual velocity of the car towards the wall was much less.. It is a clearly survivable accident with proper safety equipment in place.
7 Championships- only reason he was better than the king was because dale won rookie of the year, 1 championship then back 2 back, back 2 back back 2 back.
I would of loved to see him claim that title in 2000.
Oh yeah totally. But it wasn't Schrader's fault he died. Schrader was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Marlin got him loose, but I think Earnhardt came down on him. We may never know what happened.
Not the greatest driver, I didn't really care for him but to make fun of his death is just a really big dick move. How would you like it if someone put a video of someone you cared about dying on Youtube and someone put lol for it?
@UltimateEEnEFan I dunno.... I didn't like him... I hated him... But I loved to hate him.. Piss me off everytime I seen him win but damn.. Its not as exciting without him...
the actual part that sucks is that id you watch DALE you see that he has took much bigger hits than that. but cried that day...i was 5 when he died....
Possibly, if he didn't change the locations of the seat belt mounts, they wouldn't have torn at impact. He like them tapered in closer to one another where they were bolted to the floor behind his seat. The raw edge on the back of his seat contributed to the tearing of his belt, thus breaking his neck on the steering wheel. Of course, the spotter inability to tell him about "car low" had a lot to do with it, too. Some people blamed Sterling for his death, I couldn't believe it!
if Schrader wasn't there, we would be remembering one of the greatest saves, not the legacy dale brought and the fact that he is now gone. But we all can agree that was Dale's spotter's fault. If he knew he wasnt clear low, this wouldn't of happened.
By the way no matter what Mike Joy says on this video it was Sterling Marlin that got into the rear of earnhardts car that got him loose and in turn put him and schrader into the wall.
when this happened the cars didnt have as strict safety regulations. what killed him was his neck breaking, when he hit the wall his head was obviously flung forward very, but he didnt have the side pads that they have nowadays so when he got hit by the other car his head flung around even more. if i remember correctly he died becuz he broke his neck...
uhhhhhh tooevil667 he didnt die because he broke his neck he died because he didnt were the right kind of helmet so he hit his head on the stearing wheele because it wasa really really really reallyreeeeeally big impact.
Actually he did break his nec but the reason he broke it was No hans device(because they werent mandatory yet) open face helmet, out of date harnesses and they actually found a slight tear on one of the belts.
that's wrong dude. he died cuz he didn't wear the right kind of helmet. he had taken much harder hits before but this time, his head impacted the steering wheel and that's what killed him, not his neck breaking.
Jeff Gordons fault? Yes nascarfanatic24 you'd have to had been high on some psychotropic drug to even think he was involved in the wreck. It was completely unintentional. It was no ones fault. I kinda feel bad for Sterling Marlin because he was blamed for Dale Earnhardt's wreck. Well, at least we have Dale Jr. to watch on Sunday. RIP #3
I'm aware of that, too. SOme people I know aren't, though. Idiots, right? I laugh my ass off everytime they try to tell me, "If you watch it over again, Jeff wrecked Dale." Yeah, I think they are high on some psychotropic drug or whatever. And I do agree that it was all accident. It's just a shame the way it ended.
What's really ironic about this, is earlier in the race, Tony Stewart had a crash much, much mor violent, and he lived. He hit the wall head-on, and flipped, and got hit by other cars. What I really hate, though, is how some people trying to say it was Jeff Gordon's fault! (RETARDS!!!)
'Course, at least your story isn't completely retarded. I could see why you thought Rusty wrecked him. There's people, though, that accuse Jeff Gordon of killing Dale Earnhardt! Those guys are flat-out dumbasses! If they had anything in their heads that worked, they would've clearly seen that Jeff was in the big one. Am I right?
Yeah! I think there was ONE time in the actual race that the two were even close to one another, and they were side-by-side, at about the halfway mark. Jeff then got caught up in the big one with about 20 laps to go. Dale raced all the way to the last lap! How do you wreck someone on the last lap when you retire from the race 20 laps before? This was all accident, though. Sterling never meant to wreck Dale, it was just a racing incident that ended the way none of us wanted.
Actually Speeds at daytona can go to about 190 and over to almost 200 mph, and yeah they have a full car report on dale's #3 car, the crashes and whats responsible for his death
2000 pepsi 400 race speed 191 mph average lap times, thats at night and the guy wore an open face helmet and declined the option of a hans device, hes dead now, i wonder why a hans is mandatory now
