  • Thank god for the internet, Scientology is over, no one buys thier bullshit anymore. They can't bully people anymore, thank you Anon.

  • Good stuff

  • scientology, the bully cult. You'll have tom cruise telling your neighbors you're a terrorist.

  • Alexander Cockburn is a nice fellow.

  • The media can't cover Scientology because they have more expensive lawyers. Not because the premise of the "religion" is so moral and good. Get Lost Scientologists. Let the Religion of love begin.

  • Notice how most scientologists look like the kind of people that got the shit kicked out of them on the playground?

  • that mike rinders accent is really pising me off

  • 1:17 to 1:40 - Did he just compare having an affair to being black or Asian or Hispanic?

  • WHy is the church so hipocritical? they dont like journalists yet they publish stories on other organizations of which they dislike simply because they tax them.......wtf?

  • WHAT DOES MIKE SAY NOW IS WHATS SO FUNNY , I THINK TIME MAGAZINE SHOULD NOW DO IS TAKE THEM BACK TO COURT , AND SUE THEM FOR SLANDER ALSO CUZE THE TRUTH IS NEVER FAR , AS SOON AS MIKE GOT OUT SO DID ALL THE LIES AND DECIET

  • Since Hubbard is such a deranged person, he may have consulted with therapists because obviously he's so demented and because he probably disagreed with them, he had this personal vendetta against them and he just continued attacking the field of Psychiatry and the rest of scientology members attacked it as well.

  • A cult has secrets, thats one of the reasons why scientology is a cult. Make the cult of scientology to inform about how much each of their course will cost. It is normal that you inform about what you have to pay for your couses all other who are selling a product will do that. And let the cult inform about the people who are stalking and intimidate people who are against scientology. Just show them the videos and let them explain.

  • If u have nothing to hide, u don't care that some reporter investigates stuff, especially when u are a self claimed "religion" trying to gather new souls. Now all I have seen from the scientology peeps is arrogance and attitude. Anonymous all the way

  • Technological cults are in their element these days. Crazy scenarios like this are sure to be repeated. Who will be next? It would make a great story or film.

  • The comparisons that $cientology always puts fort seem so insulting and idiotic.

  • funny how A&E a channel that runs popular programs in heavy repeating rotation has never repeated this show and now is one of the few channels to air in heavy repeating rotation the scientology commercials, not only that but gives glowing biographies of TomCruise,JohnTravolta&kirstieAlley in heavy repeating rotation,,,irony?,,,or is scientology a dangerous cult?

  • It's because A&E is a very Celeb centered channel that features Kirstie Alley's reality show etc. It is suicidal for any television channel whose shows are centered around celebs to criticize scientology. Scientology has a lot of pull and they are very nasty if you mess with them. It's a very dangerous cult.

  • Scientology doesn't reduce to a sound bite ?

    'cult'

  • What are the cops doing taking photos for them? all those cops should be sacked or at the very least moved to alaska or something.

  • "Scientology can't be reduced to a soundbyte."

    oops

  • Thomas Jefferson didn't claim that invisible aliens were clinging to people, causing illness.

  • I'm not a scientologist, but all the religions are hipocrats, they have and continue to do what they do too...

  • Religious people are the offspring of hippopotamuses and democrats? Or do you mean to say that they are 'hypocrites'? Scientologists' generally will look to discredit those who speak out against them, whether that be because of a lack of education or otherwise. Your inherent stupidity, displayed on such an exceptional level in your comment, serves no purpose but to add firepower to their argument. In future, you'd do best to keep quiet and leave the debate to those who can handle it.

  • Having said this, perhaps you are not alone. I see users below, holding themselves out to be educated individuals, using words such as 'victamised' and 'preast'. Surface issues such as spelling are all that can be mentioned here; I could devote many pages of discussion toward the non-sensical arguments put forward, often ending with mindless colloquial phrases such as 'EPIC FAIL'. Some have excuses, though pathetic they are - Azure had consumed 'a few beers' before commenting, for instance.

  • Okay, I am the last person to pick on someone's weak points, but in this case, what is the deal with that guy? I mean, is he a Scientologist because he is mentally ill, or is he mentally compromised because he is a Scientologist? MY WORD.

  • "The only time we have done anything to investigate a journalist who was doing an investigation in Scientology, was when they wouldn't come to us." Watch "Scientology and Me" and honestly tell me that Tommy Davis shares this POV.

  • If you have not read it, read "Bare-faced Messiah". Russell Miller is one of the best writers on the subject.

  • "If you have not read it, read "Bare-faced Messiah". Russell Miller is one of the best writers on the subject."

    +1

  • It's funny how they say all that nice bollocks about Hubbard and ignore his background when they use old dirt to try to victimize those who criticize their faith

  • "Life is to short to litigate against the Church of Scientology"

  • Who are the major shareholders in Scientology company?

  • David Miscavige

Ken Moxen and the other scumbag attorneys, who will most likley be speaking to federal investigators at some point.

    Expect Us

  • "From our perspective, the more you know, the less likely you are to be victamised, the less likely you are to become a target -- to actually be safe"

    You said it!

  • "From our perspective, the more you know, the less likely you are to be victamised, the less likely you are to become a target -- to actually be safe"

That truly was an epic Freudian slip.

  • 11Jamie11 "That was an epic Freudian slip."

L Ron Hubard was part of an Occult group (very dark) in the early days. He married a Priestess from that group. (And stote a whole lote of money from the higfh preast).

Much of the higher leveles of $cientolegy is in fact setanic phylosophy, combined with 1950's styy sience fiction.

  • Yep. I've read up on that. One would be hard pressed to concoct any =less= credible background for a founder of a religion, IMO.

  • I have just re-read my comment - and the spelling is all over the place. Well I had a few beers, so the typing was a bit erratic.

But yes, his own son confirmed that this is how it was

  • That wasn't a "slip" as if he said "target, oops, I mean safe". He was saying the more you know, you will be safe. Re-listen to the way its phrased.

    He said it correctly.

  • "From our perspective, the more you know, the less likely you are to be victamised, the less likely you are to become a target -- to actually be safe" You said it!

  • "The media are interested in three headed babies, and people that have been inpregnated by out-of-space UFO aliens"

Is this an admission of existance of the Xenu story?

  • That is a pretty bad inference (around 8min)

P1: Media likes soundbites and short stories

C: Therefore, Scientology cannot be accurately reported on.

Sort of ridiculous since there are tons of reports, books, etc. on Scientology much longer than sound bites.

  • is it just me or did mike rinder start a sentence and then aron mason finish it...the time was 8:09..i bet they were on cell phones to ask what the next line was...

  • No silly, it was edited together since they were both making the same point.

  • Thanx 4 posting this! I didn't know it was aired in 1998. BTW, I'm surprised that Rinder left the goddamn cult. Thank God!

    R.I.P. Robert Vaughn Young (1938 - 2003)

  • Imagine if he confessed even half of what he did or was involved with?

They would have to silence him for sure.

If I were him I'd be workin a dealyee O for witness protection, of course that has probably been compromised by the cult.

    Expect Us

Silence and fear were your greatest weapons but Anonymous as disarmed you of both!!

  • Imagine if he confessed even half of what he did or was involved with?

They would have to silence him for sure.

    ^A THOUSAND TIMES THIS^

  • here's a soundbite for you "dangerous for-profit cult."

  • Word is that Rinder is out. That bitch has a lot to answer for. I hope he is dragged into court some day, and learns that you cannot fuck with people's lives with impunity.

Tick, tock, Mikey. Start thinking about what you're gonna say on the stand. You will NOT just walk away from this!

  • You get 10 thumb up's

  • I can't believe this dangerous, menacing, profit-hungry CULT got tax-exempt status. This "religion" opposes freedom of speech, do you realize?? This horrible CULT is the worst thing to happen to democracy and this country (and the world) in a long, long time. They are very dangerous. In some ways I believe that the sole way to stop them is to ignore them like the wackos they are, because they thrive on attention.

  • The IRS will fucking smash that cult into motherfucking smithereens.

  • AMEN!!!

  • I hate to tell you, this was broadcast in 1998, the "church" got tax exempt status in 2003. Who do you think won?

  • Oops, it was 1993 not 2003, please disregard previous comment.

  • Diharretics. LMAO. Did anyone else catch that?

And for those who do not know, Mike Rinder left the church. Isn't that almost proof itself that Scientology doesn't work?

  • Very interesting he left the church. I wonder what he did or what happened to make him leave?

  • I think he saw a government investigation coming and got out

  • Im convinced, Im joining scientology, I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alexander Cockburn.. I giggled.

  • February 16th, 2008, Shawn Lonsdale dead. they killed him.

  • L Ron Hubbard wrote 'battlefeild earth'? no wonder the movie sucked.

  • The internet will ruin the cult of Scientology.

    Annoymous: Fuck the fucking fuckers.

  • @Godsmasher22 fuck yeah

  • Mike Rinder........pathetic brainwashed fool.

  • He left the church recently.

  • $cientology = BS

  • the cult of $cientology....enough said

  • It's ironic how he brought up the outer space aliens. Isn't that what your all about????

  • Scientologist are crazy loons.

  • Beck is a scientologist. I will never buy another one of his records these people are wacko. It is so sad I remember Jim Jones.

  • Both the Fed and Scientologist competing for the same mind-numbed sheeple

  • I started reading it today. It's a breeze of a read. I really like it so far.

  • Jerk me off

  • You can read Russell Miller's book, referred to in the above clip, "Bare-Faced Messiah" for free online at w w w XENU dot net - Scroll down about 1/3 down the page and you will see it.
