oohh myGodd i love the clarinet part at 5:55. i could listen to tht over and over. i play horn but still...i want to learn how to play clarinet now =]
nice but the whole performance seems a bit slow. well...more than a 'bit'. and something else is wrong about it, I just can't put my finger on it =/ irritating.
My high school played this for part of our winter percussion show last year, me and my friend got to play this kick ass duet.
We thought we played it good but it is just not the same as hearing an actual symphony play it instead of just 4 mallet players, a bass player, and some rythm.
Awesome song, But where is the english horn at measure 64 and at the end?? Silly sax, those are english horn solos! LOL Awesome job, except tempos were a little funky at times and i was wanting to hear more oboe and low brass at times, but overall fantastic job.
There's actually a couple of ways of getting it on your iPod. I can send you the audio file if you have an e-mail address, or you can download the video from this site, extract the audio in Quicktime, and add it to your iTunes library. The former is probably the easiest. Let me know if you want the track!

P.S. Thanks for listening & commenting! Feel free to check out my other tracks of The Concordia College Band.
Nice ensemble, some really good clarinets in there. The only thing that kinda concerned me was the tempo of the final tango in five part, there was not a big enough accelerando going into it, which resulted in it being pretty slow.
I play tuba in The Concordia College Band, and we tried to play out as much as we could when it was appropriate, but our conductor likes to give us the "too much of a good thing" gesture. Thanks for listening!
I played Tuba 2, but I obviously sat next to the Tuba 1's. The only difference in the parts was one or two measures in the middle of the piece that are basically trills. Each part is a lot of fun!
my band gets to play this piece for indianapolis and im super excited. its a great song. shame it doesn't have the english horn on this recording... but its all good! :)
I know!!! my band's playing this right now...and I'm playing the english horn part (except in the middle, where I switch to the Oboe 2 part). but the solo-esque part in the beginning and the solo at end are so interesting to listen to...i love this piece
This song is so much fun. I'm a freshman high-schooler, and I play bari-sax. I loved this song so so much.

I must say 5:00 to 5:15 is my favorite part just because our band rocks out when we play it.

I am cornet 1...
And I think all you trumpet and cornet really sucks.
I don't know your nevel, I am Highschool.
But is good.

you guys kind of have some tempo problems.
During the middle section right before the clapping part, you slow down quite a bit, but then pick things up right when the clapping begins.
other than that, good for you guys =] sounds amazing!

Thats cool you play the tuba in this :3 your real good. I never said It was because you weren't playing, my bass barley works in these speakers :P
P.S I'm playing the tuba in this too ;)
tips2854 3 years ago
Haha, I understand how it is with the speakers. Bass from the tubas is really hard to hear in general on recordings.
Have fun with this piece! It can be a great time! It's really intense, but with some time and dedication, it'll sound amazing :-) Good luck!
P.S. For the part at 5:55 where the percussionists stomp and clap, suggest they hold roses in their teeth. It makes it a little more interesting :-)
