bottom line is that the democratic senate backed themselves into a untenable legal corner. A corner of their own making.
The appointment was legal, the lieutenant- governors signature is a mere formality and Burris is indeed legally the junior governor from Illinois.
Now the democratic leaders need to quit grand standing and get to work.

I do not know this man Roland Burris but he has held a real job so he way more qualified than president elect bo. My only worry is that he was picked by a democrat and every single one of them are proven crooks. Any politician should be drug tested have their bank accounts watched and be put on a lie detector tests for the sake of national security. You are certainly welcome. Bear in mind that at 71, he has aready lost both the Mayoral race in Chicago once and the Governorship in Illinois twice so he doesn't appear to have too much public support in administrative government. His possible rejection to the Senate seat would be more likely as a result of an "over the hill" syndrome rather than racial...although many would probably interperate it as the latter.

Yes, that's very possible, considering that age and race played a huge part in the presidential election. At least that's what a lot of people were complaining about.
