@glissando23 They still sell Saturday's and Henry's you just have to ask for it because it no longer comes in small bags, they can hand scoop it for you
Lol Im A SBC Barista As well and my co-worker sent me these links but when i first saw the new logo a couple months back i swear i thought it was Pokeball.
SBC new coffee blends are horrible. The got rid of Henry's Blend!!! They had several great blends like Post Alley and Saturdays. The bold smooth coffee is gone replaced by these new blends that taste like weak brown water!!
I hope they get deluged with people telling them to change the logo back to the old one. This worked when the GAP made the same stupid decision. This logo is horrible. With the drip at the bottom, it looks like Maxwell House and Target's logo merged. Makes SBC look like cost cutter coffee.
I had predicted that SBC would be wiped out from SBUX by 2010, but I guess I was wrong. It may happen in a couple years. As a former SBC barista, I find this logo very mind numbing, and like someone said below looks like gas station brand. I don't think this will improve SBC's business. My thoughts are that SBUX is just going to take all the coffee from SBC and merge it into the SBUX brand. I am no longer a SBC supporter b/c I have lots of indie coffee shops to choose from here in Seattle.
This would be great if they did that to Coffee Bean, but Starbucks owns Seattle's Best. This could have been moderately funny if it wasn't Starbucks allowing their little company to place a banner on their building for a second.
I, too, am an SBC barista. I'm also interested in branding. I love a clean, minimalist design as much as the next futurist, but we sell premium coffee, not hand soap. This logo makes no sense at all. It's far removed from the coffee drinking experience. I hope Border's drops Seattle's Best from their book stores. No one wants to go to a bookstore and drink coffee with a logo that belongs in a gas station. I don't get it.
I started out as a SBC Barista, and now I'm a Starbucks Barista, in the same mall. My 'buck co-workers all make fun of me for starting there, and maintainign contact with my SBC buddies. But when our grinder broke, I saved the day by having SBC grind our coffee. :) I think the video is cute, and there should be more love between 'Buckers and SBC'ers.
I'm a proud SBC barista myself, and while I'm still not sure how I feel about the new logo, this video made me SO happy. My cafe's team has had a running joke for years referring to ourselves as Ninja Baristas - now we have proof that even the top SBCers are ninjas! Very cute. Thanks for the great video, guys.
As an sbc barista I find this video annoying and stupid. Oh we're better than starbucks. While I happen to agree what the video was trying to say was "Buy our shit instead of starbucks". When it really doesn't matter. Buy Starbucks it goes to starbucks, buy SBC it still goes to starbucks, So stupid.
So.... Not a fan of the new logo.... Yet. I love the video though. Super cute. I really like the song!!! Great morning song to have your coffee to. Anyone know what it is?
There's a lot of reasons to like Starbucks, but the biggest weakness for Starbucks is that many think it's become too corporate. The tactic of a fun video is great, but it did not do any favors to Starbucks' image to those who think it's becoming too big by buying up franchises like Seattle's Best.
This is ingenious! I can see the smile in the cup. I had this coffee at Subway and it was terrific. Way to go Starbucks with such an entertaining way to launch the new logo.
So is the new coffee located in the generic section of the super market now? What are you going to do with all those Seattle's Best stores? Will Star Bucks be taking those over?
So glad I am the first to comment - this is amazing! I can see the SSC from my balcony on Beacon Hill and was pleasently SHOCKED this morning when I saw the siren replaced with SBC.... Well done guys, well done

BRAVO....I like it! It clean, modern and simple; plus, this is a fun & creative way to launch the new logo.

Logo is not that great. The tradition logo makes a better brand. Sorry, no love from this Seattlite.

This makes no sense. Why 'covertly' invade Starbuck's, your parent company? Use the front door.
