  • I bet you Republicans are thankful to Barack Obama for actually finishing what ole Reagan here was TALKING about. He is actually walking the walk in terms of putting a few firecrackers up those Libyans' asses.

  • He had some very nice friends /watch?v=y3f9mlUQzJA

  • wow..and you bozos knows history or economics? reaganomics was not about trickle down, it was about trickling up. Wealth, created by the private sector to increase revenue. IF PEOPLE CREATS MORE WEALTH!! REVENUE GOES UP!! REAGAN . and for all those reagan haters? Reagan 2nd election? he won 49 states..the nation is saying you liberals are morons. Now, put that joint down!!

  • Yeah but it's ok to give biological weapons to Sadom Husain in 89...... Im not a democrat and not a republican( prefer republican) but democrat and republicans are both liars. Face it the government has been and still is lying to your face!!!

  • @RevolutionaryUS

    I AGREE! & I SAY THEY R MAFIA THUGS.

BUSH'S MASS MURDER/TORTURE CASE "THE HOUSE OF DEATH" HAS BEEN COVERED UP FOR 8 YRS BY CONGRESS.

:FAST & FURIOUS' WAS TO BE THE GREATEST FALSE FLAG EVER W/TENS OF THOUSANDS AMERICANS DEAD.TO REMOVE 2ND AMENDMENT.

INVESTIGATE DHS'S PETER KING'S ADMITTED TIES TO TERRORIST GROUP "THE IRA."

    SPREAD THE WORD!

THEY ALL NEED TO GO,INCLUDING CONGRESS!

  • This was the best president ever. We enjoy our freedoms today because of him. Also its a known fact trickle down economics works. Our economy would be in bad shape today if it was not for Reagan economics. Reagan was a true American Hero far better than the Communist we have today. Obama is try to destroy our country, he signed that budget deal, that is now Tanking WALL STREET IMPEACH OBAMA Vote for RICK PERRY and Sarah Palin Leaders that stand for Christian Moral Values and AMERICA

  • The Reagan Administration was subversive and not "Conservative."

  • Its too bad that ol Ronny died, before he could be tried, convicted and executed for treason and war crime atrocities. He was a disgrace to mankind.

  • @MrDaemonB your a dope!

  • Should have killed that Quadaffi prick when we had the chance!

  • This is what a REAL President thinks of Quadaffi.

  • Mr. President i wish you were alive to finish the job of Ghadafi. He is killing innocent people of his country.

God bless you Mr. President Salute to you.

  • Reagan was a war criminal. Sold weapons under the table to Iran, killed thousands in central america and even told the Iranians NOT to free the American Hostages until he came to power. What a miserable creature he was.

  • Then why people critisizing obama for trying to take out kdafi.

  • Rawhide

  • 3.7 Trillion dollar budget 2011 1.65 trillion in deficit spending, when are people in this country gonna wake up. This administration is spending money we DO NOT have.

    yeah, great President.

  • @jackfitz45 Reagan left the country in deficit. Search for presidential spending. The worst robbers have been the Republicans. They steal more.

  • Sorry, civil rights are never moot, and they were a HUGE issue to anyone who sought equality in the US. In 1964 Reagan spoke out against the CIvil Rights Act. He also opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He also opposed the Equal Rights Amendment, and tried to veto a second Civil Rights bill in 1988. Not moot, and not great.

Everyone was against "oppressive", regimes, except under Reagan we supported many. Read "Legacy of Ashes" by Tim Weiner...

  • Tax breaks for the rich do NOT create jobs, the make tax breaks for the rich. You don't protect the "little guy", by giving the big guy billions....that just creates a federal deficit. If you want to help the "little guy", then give HIM the tax breaks!

Regarding the Contra Scandal, Reagan appeared on TV and admitted to the American People that he had lied about knowing nothing about the scandal, so I don't know how anything is "yet to be shown".

I'll give you this though, he was a great actor!

  • Hey, Juan Pablo Martinez Gonzalez Gabriel Carlos Sanchez Hoochie-mama-freeloading-illegal immigrant-with-twelve-kids! I was wondering where you were? I'm sure those "freebees" and welfare checks aren't increasing the deficit.

  • What do you think makes him "best president..."? He was a great looking figurehead, but he was not a statesman. The most powerful man in the world falling asleep in staff meetings? Tax breaks for the rich, while cutting services to seniors and children?

To me, what makes a president great is his protection of civil rights, inspiring industry and trade, while protecting the little guy...respect for humanity, honesty, integrity, democracy...These make a man great. Not the voilation of them.

  • @nicesfgwm He inspired industry and trade by letting them keep their own money to expand their business. Civil rights weren't a huge issue at the time, so...moot point unless you want to talk about his stance against oppressive regimes like the Soviets had. He protected the little guy by trying to help him get a job at the business that just expanded. The only violation of anything I recall was the Contra scandal, which has yet to be shown to be something he knew about personally.

  • He lied about funding the Contras while giving terrorists in Iran money in exchange for hostages. Incidentally, he was also saying at the time that America does not negotiate with terrorists. But by giving to the terrorists, many MORE people ended up kidnapped and murdered.

While taking a tough stand against terrorism, 241 of our boys were killed by terrorists in Lebannon. His response? Run away.

I don't know. You say greatest president. I just don't see it.

  • Ronald Reagan - best president of the second half of the 20th Century, and there's no debating it.

  • He did more damage to the middle and lower classes than anyone in history, harming seniors and children, creating mass homelessness. "Starve the beast", shut down the programs designed to help the most vulnerable members of our society. Mother Theresa he was not.

  • Someone buy out GM? Who? Ford was much better shape. GM would not have recovered at all. Didn't bail out Lehman brothers. How're they doing? The bailout of GM kept 1 million people employed, and has produced a positive roi. Wealth for all classes grew under Reagan? You can't make a say that straight faced.

  • The worst president in our history... until George Bush.

Obama inherited a huge debt, and the worst recession in our lives. He responded by saving over a million jobs in the auto industry, stopped the collapse of the worlds financial institutions, and yes... took tax payer money to create more jobs and to stop the bleeding. That increased the deficit. But things are coming around now. The auto industry and the financial institutions that he rescued are paying 8% on that debt. Great pres!

  • @nicesfgwm Pasted from wikipedia-the Troubled Asset Relief Program, commonly referred to as TARP, is a program of the United States government to purchase assets and equity from financial institutions to strengthen its financial sector which was signed into law by U.S. President George W. Bush on October 3, 2008.

  • @nicesfgwm The companies are paying off debt asap to get the government out of their backyard. They have restrictions as long as they hold the money and they cannot pay it back until Geithner says they are ready to go back on the market.

  • @nicesfgwm Obama is a decent president who is definitely inexperienced but improving. but he is not near Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy,Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Those are great names!!!

  • @nicesfgwm

    Drank the koolaid did you?

  • @fluffythecat2

That's a very intelligent argument, fluffy. KoolAid...hmm. Regrettably you don't have put an argument forward, so I'll just say:

Look at GM today. Very successful IPO...and the American government is making profits on the companies they rescued. Bravo!

Two years ago, we were bleeding 750,000 jobs a MONTH under GW. Today we are gaining 15,000 a month. Not perfect, but I would say a slight turn around. Bravo!

    So...who's drinking KoolAid?

  • @nicesfgwm

u did. u believe those #s and bs propaganda. sad that.

  • You want propaganda, watch Fox "News".

The stats are very accessible and easy to understand. CNBC and CNN have posted and discussed them. But it does bring up an interesting point. When I disagree with you, you say I drank Koolaid. When I site facts, you say "propaganda". It's a fascinating aspect of the human mind that we all believe what we believe, and we are sure we are right! And it's virtually impossible to convince anyone to believe otherwise. Only time and history can play out.

  • We all have a belief on the Nature of Man- Good or evil or as the Blank Slate that society develops. And I think that creates our Political belief structure. ... but I really can't waste time responding to your petty insults with truth. Site some facts as i have, and make an argument, and the matter can be debated.

  • Ronald "Amnesty" Reagan! What a senile old fool!

  • @streiff100, Ronald Reagan funded terrorists.

  • @streiff100, Reagan also trippled the national debt and he expanded the federal government.

  • @hackit12

Yeah, it's amazing how everyone thinks that Reagan was a tough cowboy, but the leaving of Lebannon was a cowardly act that damages us to this day!

As far as the Iron Curtain falling, people somehow believe it was RR that made it fall. Hello? The Soviet economy was in shambles. They had nowhere near the number of missiles we thought (bad intelligence). And the whole cold war, they thought we were the aggressors, and feared our first strike.

  • @nicesfgwm That was a huge mistake when you play monday morning quarterback but over all as presidents go, he was one of the best.

  • Is there a way to make a clone of Reagan? WE NEED HIM !

  • this is an amazing president

  • Reagan's administration was one of a kind, let us hope we rekindle his passion & bravery in the U.S.A.

  • reagan come back please.

im criying right now. please come back COME BACK !!!!!

  • lol what a homo. Why don't you dig him up so you can put what's left of his cock in your mouth.

    Americans are fucking morons.

  • oh no... another stupid antiamerican...

you can suck my cock bitch.

    GOD BLESS THE USA !

  • Why don't you start a war with a country that can actually FIGHT BACK. Like China, for example.

Reagan went to war with Grenada. OOoo look out it's Grenada vs the USA! Gee, I wonder who will win?

    What a pussy.

  • @DiscoFunk70 REAGAN POWER, BITCH ! XD

  • Well that wins the argument. You've won right there. I didn't know I was locking horns with such an intellectual giant.

  • naw.. its just that i dont like to "argue" with people like you.

peoplr like you are really really stupid, your arguments made me laugh a lot the other day. thats why i dont want to "talk" or "dialogue" with you. AND because my english is not as good as yours. im learning it.

  • That so funny!

  • @DiscoFunk70 If he did you would hate that also.

  • 2010 lets make Nancy pelosi and her gang a memory VOTE them out! 2012 VOTE us out of OBAMANATION. Let's take our country back!

  • Most of our current problems with terrorism are the result of Ronald Reagan's idiotic policiy of trading arms for hostages, selling weapons to Islamic extremists and coddling murderous dictators all over the world.

  • @AtlasShruggery Bullshit.

Reagan did not arm the mujadehein in Afghanistan, had nothing to do with the rise to power of the Ayatollah Kohmeini in Iran, and why are you so worred about Reagans alliance with Sadaam and others when in the past we were allied with Stalin and Chairman Mao (two of the three most muderous dictators of all time)? Is FDR a war criminal too...or are you a hippycrite?

  • @floydefisher

"We did not, repeat did not, trade arms for hostages."

  • This man Reagan created Al Qaeda in early 1980's. He gave them guns and weapons. He trained them. He was the greatest supporter of islamic facism.

Go to your churches next Sunday and praise Reagan. And declare jihad to Obama. Remember praise the Lord also. So your double standard is perfect.

  • I love how Reagan concluded this speech:

    "Tonight...WE HAVE."

    THREE CHEERS FOR THE GIPPER!!!

  • That's when USA had balls!!! Now we have a "president" shaking hands with banana republic dictators, and bow to the foreign king!!! It's sad to see what America has slowly become, a socialist commie country that it used to fight against!

  • god bless president reagan

  • Look, Atlas:

When Reagan traded weapons for hostages in the Iran-Contra incident, HE DID WHAT HE HAD TO DO in order to protect OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM. He had to make a choice, and he chose THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS.

Unlike Carter, he actually MADE a choice....

  • still illegal

  • The "death squads" you mention were GOOD guys who eventually made Nicaragua a free nation--thanks in part to the funds provided by Ollie North and Co.

BTW, Reagan knew nothing of the funding until after it was revealed to the public. Not that it matters, anyway--IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!

  • The real irony is that Reagan and Carter helped build the Taliban.

  • The CIA, during Reagan's tenure, supplied the MUJAHADEEN with arms, who were indigenous to Afghanistan and later became the Northern Alliance, which fought AGAINST the Taliban on America's side. The Taliban originated in Pakistan and are a totally different group.

    Read a book.

  • The Pakistanis built the Taliban, not the U.S. The Northern Alliance led by Ahmad Shah Massood, which fought the Taliban was the remnant of the force we backed against the Soviets.

  • Actually it was your "friends" the Saudis that helped fund all the madrassas that trained the Taliban - with the help of the British and the US intelligence agencies. It was called Operation Cyclone.

    Read a book.

  • Atlas, u claim Reagan sold biological weapons and missles but how much money did Reagan get for that ? What day did make the sale? How do u claim to know this? Oh u must work for the X-files!

  • Yeah, Reagan never sold any weapons to anybody. Especially not Saddam Hussein. And especially when we see Donald Rumsfeld barely containing his glee as he shakes Saddams hand.

But I guess that makes me 'anti-american' for pointing that out. Don't worry, I won't stop you from playing the banjo and drinking moonshine and eating grits. Yeehaw!

  • ...and God Bless! Imagine hereing that from Obama. That's so sad - My God, what a BLT we have now (basic loser type)!

  • AtlasShruggery cites history that Pres ELECT Reagan brokered a deal with Iran while Carter was still in office to sell the Iranians missiles in return for releasing our hostages, but not to do so until after Reagan took the oath of office. I'snt that a crime? I can't wait for your endorsement of a Carter second term and your rationale behind it. This should be good.

  • Based on your avoidance of the ONE issue I raised, I guess you are actually saying, "I was being untruthful that Iran released the hostages because Reagan promised them missiles. You got me." You obviously believe deeply in your heart that if Carter had remained Pres from 81 thru 85 instead of that STUPID Reagan that we would have been infinitely better off internattionally. Please tell the world your rationale. Remember, keep the focus on Carter's 2nd term. Don't mention Reagan for this issue

  • kthburke, your citation has absolutely nothing to do with Reagan selling millsiles to the Iranian ayatollahs. Please google "Iran Contra" for a badly needed history lesson. You quote also has nothing to do with Reagan selling chemical and biological weapons to Saddam Hussein. Please see the 2004 Senate report on the matter. The Reagan administration sold Saddam the ingredients for mustard gas and a "witches brew" of biological agents including anthrax and botulism.

  • Much like Jimmy Carter, if the next Summer Olympics were in Tehran, then Obama could respond to Iran by having the US boycott the Olympics. Lord knows he won't go further than that.

  • Just to clarify, Joe, Reagan sold the missiles to the Iranian terrorists. He sold the chemical and biological weapons to Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

  • no , he didnt. he sold the iranian government missiles because iran was losing the war against iraq in 1985

  • Camel Boy, I think you should consider googling "Iran Contra" to learn the facts about Reagan's support for terrorists and his trading arms for hostages to the Iranian ayatollahs.

By the way, judging from your name, you must be another one of those perverted Family Values Republicans, eh?

  • I donn`t know if Reagan sold missles to Iraq but how many missles were used on Sept 11, 2001? The one that shot down United 93

  • Anyone besdies a dedicated Marxist who studied macroeconomics in the late 1970s, as I did, knew that the fall of the USSR was a fait accompli. The Soviets didn't change their behavior one bit because of Reagan's sabre rattling. You've swallowed ne of the great Reagan Myths promoted by his sycophants.

  • really?? all the leading democrats made statements on video assuring the US people that the USSR was too strong to take down back in 1980,81,82. they said they based their conclusions the findings of think tank clowns like you.

in 1989,90,91 , we heard from those same clowns and the same democommie politicians claiming the USSR was in decline and RONALD WILSON REAGAN had nothing to do with it

  • Actually, Joe, the Iranians held the hostages until after the election because the Reaganauts promised to sell them missiles if they did.

  • LIAR!!

  • Oh really? The below is taken directly from a Univ of Virginia summary of Pres Carter: "Near the end of his administration CARTER concluded an agreement that led to the release of the hostages. His executive agreement with Iran specified that the U.S. would unblock all Iranian funds, and the U.S. and Iran would utilize a tribunal at the Hague to settle their financial claims. The U.S. also promised not to interfere in the internal affairs of Iran. In return, Iran agreed to release the hostages."

  • Most of our current problems with terrorists can be traced directly to the idiocy of Ronald Reagan's foreign policy.

  • So I guess Reagan was to blame for Iran holding American hostages for over 2yrs when peanut head Carter was president!

  • yeah, right. the collapse of the soviet union was just a coincidence. and moslems really do need a reason other than the fact that we are infidels to attack us.

you say surrender , we say fight back

  • where is this bullshit now

  • How ironic to hear Reagan talk about terrorism since it was Reagan who sold missiles to the Iranian ayatollahs, Reagan who called Osama bin Laden a freedom fighter and Reagan who sold chemical and biological weapons to Iraq.

  • AtlasShruggery, u say President Reagan sold missles to Iran. sold chemical and biologial weapons, etc, etc. First how do u know this?

  • I liked him better when he was just an actor. Power corrupts.

  • In my opinion he was far greater politician than actor. As an actor he was just good, as a statement he was noblest.

  • Translation---give up your rights or imaginary terrorist and assorted hobgoblins will kill you......STFU

  • You guys do know that Reagan was one of the biggest supporters of terrorism in the world don't you.. Hell, Bin Laden got all of his training by fighting for the US govt under Reagan.. No Reagan, no 9/11

  • d3p whatever: Exxon Mobile had record profits. The middle class is under assault. Jimmy Carter's human rights foreign policy with military cuts did what to have other countrys like us? Reagan is an American hero for what he did to dismantle the Soviet Union.

  • If it was Carter that gave weapons to Iran, Saddam Hussein, and Osama bin Laden, and funded terrorism in South America, I highly doubt you would be pretending that he was an "American hero."

If Reagan had been a Democrat, Ann Coulter would have written 20 books about how he was such a weak, incompetent, terrorist loving traitor.

I think a lot of people just worship him for his economic policies & the cold war, then just defend other things like this just because they think he can do no wrong.

  • God I wish President Reagan was president today. They don't make men like him anymore. What a shame.

  • Correction: We don't ---elect--- men like him anymore.

  • Touche.

  • President Reagan was an elite stooge

  • True Leadership. I'm happy he isn't here to see what we've done.

    AC

  • GOD BLESS THIS GREAT AMERICAN.

    Go to hell liberals.

  • They will go to hell, because they have sex with donkeys. Everyone knows.

  • I'm with you brother

  • dumbocrats should learn this!!!!

  • "He counted on America to be passive, he counted wrong!" President Reagan defined what our country is about in that statement.

  • 1-24-09--i have been watching old reagan videos and i have to say THANK GOD THIS MAN LEAD OUR NATION. i wish we could have him now. but like the saying goes: "it took a jimmie carter to give us a Ronald Reagan"

GOD BLESS AMERICA, OUR CONSTITUTION, AND OUR WAY OF LIFE and ,,,oh yea piss on liberals!

  • honda - Yeah thank god he redistributed wealth upwards to the already rich, that he declared war on the working and middle class of America, that he aggressively promoted sending jobs and industries overseas, that he created the largest debt at that time that was more than all previous presidents combined which is a massive tax on the majority not the rich, that he helped fund, arm, train, and use terrorists to kill innocents, and countless more crimes

yeah thats some leader psss lmao!!
