  • you could play pong during this game right?

  • This was the single best game on Amiga 500+. I still love the music from the Superfrog intro.

  • @PROMuffy finally somebody else who remembers and loves that music! Good memories

  • thumbs up if you like alien swarm!!!!

  • CHAR-LA-FACT !!

    CHAR-LA-FACT !!

  • I had a dodgy version of this game and it used to crash on me all the time, but whilst it worked I loved playing 2 players with my brother, TURICAN was another great game from this era. PEACE

  • How hard is this game?

  • Only thing bad about the SE is the lacking of a real ending. After battling the breed the credits are a bit of a letdown.

  • Oh, the hours I've spend in this game.....

  • great game cant wait for evo

  • I still have this game, it's about to released on consoles again, an updated top-down shooter. Team17 again at the helm.

But there was a top-down driving game on Amiga I forget the name of... Anyone have any leads or guesses?

  • @A1R5N1P3R top down could be Super Cars, Roadkill, Nitro or a handful of toher games

  • @A1R5N1P3R Was it Nitro by any chance? That was a brilliant top down racer

  • @DingKong I have no idea, can't remember the name at all, it was amazing when I played it, that's all I remember lol.

  • @A1R5N1P3R Do you mean a top-down driving game on the Amiga by Team 17? That would be Overdrive mate. Same development team as Assassin i think - Broadhurst/Dalton. Alien Breed(s)/Project-X/Superfrog were the Tadic/Holmes team. Team 17, Factor 5 and Psygnosis really pushed the Amiga to its limits. Great times.

  • @sidious76 Indeed they did, I'm not sure if it was Overdrive, I remember city maps more than traditional tracks. Although maybe the city maps came later in the game; been awhile since I played it. Only Gods still works on my Amiga2000 ):

  • @A1R5N1P3R Yeah Gods was another good one. I loved Turrican 1 and 2. Remember Moonstone? With the Knights chopping heads off and all that? Ha, i remember my mum bollocking my dad for buying me and my brother that game lol. I just had a look around and Team 17 did anothet top down racing game that was meant to be really good(i didn't have it though) called ATR - All Terrain Racing. Maybe that was it? Put it in the youtube search bar and check mate.

  • apparrently that was the developers mother.

  • I used to love that chick's voice.... "Insert Disk 2"

  • Team 17 and Amiga Power hated each other back in the day!

  • Why was that ?

  • Actually i think it was more team 17 hating amiga power than the other way round, due to the magazine giving duff reviews to some of their games...

  • This game rocks. Have you heard that there is a remake of this game? Google for Alien Breed: Obliteration.

  • arrr man i miss this game loads,

  • This game was simply superb..Has anyone been playing the already avaliable PC freeware remake of this game by FlashJester punk?.Been out for years now and i have never stopped playing it!.Plug in a USB gamepad and away you go!..I realy cant wait to see Team-17s remake!!.AMIGA RULEZ FOREVER!!..Such fond memories, thanks for the vid!.

  • JUST discovered that now, its fuckin great :D

  • It is Bloody awesome!. I still play it even now. Check out Zombie shooter 2 by Sigma team if you have not already done so, It`s sort of like Alien Breed. A Very good shooter indeed.

  • The game design for this was written on a napkin. it was drawn with a broken monitor and its got the world record for longest nr1 on hit charts. 60 weeks in a row !

  • I could never get Deck 7 to load due to a duff disk. :)

  • Team-17 is making a remake of this game!

  • I can just imagine how it's gonna be.

  • this game ruled!!!!!

  • Simply, one of the fucking greatest games of all-time!!

  • seconded

  • OMG.. this brings back so many memories.

  • I remember last level haha,, was Green and look like from the ALines 2 movie hehe

  • again with eggs and facehuggers!

  • Sooo cool!!!!!

  • To fully appreciate this game, you need to play it with the old skool joystick :D

  • my dad still have the commodore 64 but we can play alien breed on an emulator

  • don¨t think the 64 cut handel alien breed. i played on an amiga 500

  • one of my favourite all time games, more creative than todays hyped up games with boring music and sound effects

  • The noise the aliens make when you kill them was taken from when the sound effects guy accidentally recorded an angry screeching peacock. I remember reading that somewhere. Yes, this was a very decent game.

  • Yup, supposedly Allister went to the zoo to sample noises of animals. He recorded elephants, and at some point a 'bloody peacock' screamed in his mic, which he used.

  • i remember when i bought this game back in 93...

  • what i will not regret are the endless loading of the games..really amiga was good only with HD and at least 2MB of ram..

  • yes dl4002...my amiga 600 kaputt when i pushed too much the video bar when i was trying to adapt screen resolotion to a friend's tv..what a stupid thing.

Anyway manybe with some notions of electronics i will could repair it.

  • awesome, nothing better than blasting the never ending stream of aliens with some of the best weapons ever seen on the amiga.

They dont make games like this anymore, a true old school classic and one which I would still play if my amiga was still working.

  • Another amiga classic.. "sigh" oh memories..

  • I love these old school games.

  • Keep watching there will be more posted as time permits. : )
