Way to go! I think that is how Country singing is 'supposed' to be. You've gotta be out-of-tune a bit for originality. I always hear that in a lot of country singers.

Regardless of Jason getting voted off immediately after this, I think this was his best performance.

Honestly, I didn't buy him as a contender until the top ten, but he probably moved up to my #3 spot right near the end.

Somebody asked why Pierce smiled after buzzing. Notice how Jason responded to the buzz. It seems to me that he looked directly at Pierce, smiled and gave him a wink. I'm sure Pierce was expecting a very different reaction, perhaps a tantrum or at least a grimmace. Pierce's smile is not that of a smug man, but of an embarrased man - embarrased for being out-classed by the very person he just buzzed. A very memorable moment on America's Got Talent.
