  • Ooooooh there some Carter haters!

  • He was also considered a "troublemaker". Which is why they don't want him in. But based on performance and work ethic, he gets in all the time. An he did change the game greatly. He invented the toe touch.

  • carter taught moss just sayin....

  • The Voters should be Ashamed

  • the biggest argument against chris carter is that all he did was catch TD's...well thats like keeping the all time HR leader in baseball out of the HOF cause all he did was hit HR's...its a shame him and andre reed arnt in but theirs room for joe namath

  • Watch.... in about fifteen years, people will be saying this exact stuff about Moss or TO because ideally, Carter will have made the hall by then :P

  • Chris carter and andre reed get snubbed every year

  • Guess its time for that investigation...

  • And he got snubbed again

  • What is the argument against him exactly? No ring that is just stupid.. So i guess Dan Marino should not have got in..

  • There were 44 HOF voters. How many and which names of those 44 HOF voters were stupid enough to pass on CC again. There are currently 21 receivers in the NFL HOF and CC has more total career receptions than all of them except Jerry Rice. WTF part of that dont those HOF idiot voters get?

  • he is not in the hall of fame again this year...what is wrong with the nfl voter they should be ashamed of themselves for not putting him in the hall of fame

  • Top 100 of all time... Where is he?

  • He's just not in the Hall of fame YET

  • Him and Randy Moss best WR tandem EVER EVER EVER

  • Yea, just ridiculous. He's the #2 receiver of all time behind jerry rice. He should def get in.

  • its shocking that michael irvin is in the hof and cris carter is if you compare their stats

    cris carter- 8 pro bowls, Receptions 1, 101, Receiving yards 13, 889, Touchdowns 130

michael irvin - 5 bro bowls, Receptions 750, Receiving yards 11,904, Touchdowns 65

  • @jessejones14 plus irvin had aikman, a HOFer throwing to him

  • @ 1:35 Is that they are who we thought they were ?

  • The dick talking at 2:05 truly sounds like the ultimate douchebag. "Guys like thaaat."

  • Hate this fuck on ESPN..........so opinionated. Hes slightly better than that faggot Key.........cause CC is a future hall of famer, keyshawn was overrated his whole career, not to mention the worst attitude in football....

  • Was Tim brown on this list by any chance.

  • Coach Vince "What the hell is going on out here!?"

  • Cris gets in this year no doubt. its a weak class and he will get in no problem. This years class Cris Carter, Tim Brown and or Andre reed, Cortez Kennedy, sam mills, Jack Butler, and Dick Stanfel.

  • Art Monk is in but C.C. gets shunned, what the hell is that! I think it has less to do with not winning a Super Bowl and more to do with his early career in Philadelphia with the substance abuse problems!

  • He'll get in in 2012... the first year eligible class is very weak this year, out of all the candidates the only one worthy of a first ballot HOFer is Bill Parcells. So those other 6 spots will go to people who've been waiting a while. Notably Cris Carter... and hopefully the voters get their heads out of their asses and put Jerry Kramer in there too...

  • Of the group of receivers that will come up for the hall of fame: Cris Carter, Tim Brown, Andre Reed, Ike Bruce, Torry Holt, Henry Ellard, Sterling Sharpe, Marvin Harrison, Rod Smith and eventually Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, and Hines Ward. Which two or three receivers will go in from this group?

  • @chuckers40 I don't think, Issac, Henry, or Sharpe are ever going to get into the hall of fame, for various reasons. So its only between really ; carter, brown, and reed. WE neeed to get those 3 wr into the hall fast before T.O and Ward retire

  • @blackshot sharpe is already in the hof if u didnt know

  • @vadimzdonutube I was referring to his cousin, Sterling Sharpe, sorry I wasn't clear

  • @blackshot

Sterling Sharpe is Shannon Sharpe's older brother.

  • @chuckers40 Reed and Brown probably in from the first group. Moss definitely in from your second group. Carter is borderline like Reed and Brown. Carter has the numbers but might be missing the intangibles. Reed played in 4 Super Bowls. Brown was a great return man and WR. Carter was the king of the 12-yard reception and falling to the ground.

  • @GonzoLoungeLizard Carter was the king of catching the uncatchable ball. Sidelies were his specialty. How many times did he manage to grab one and stay in bounds with 80% of his body over the line? Those feet and legs were magical!

  • I forgot a few other receivers, Henry Ellard, Drew Pearson, Rod Smith.

  • I hope that Cris Carter gets in next year or by 2013. After 2013, look at the receivers that will be considered in future years, Marvin Harrison, Ike Bruce, Torry Holt, Randy Moss and eventually Terrell Owens. Sterling Sharpe's name I think is seriously being considered. Hines Ward when he retires will be considered. You still have Andre Reed and Tim Brown waiting as well. the lomger it takes, the tougher it is going to get.

  • @chuckers40 Don't get me wrong - Hines Ward, T.O., Bruce, Holt, and Moss are all great but CC should be in there first. CC invented the possession receiver.

  • @TouringFunkBand1 I absolutely agree that CC should get in. I hope he gets in by 2013. After 2013, if CC is not enshrined, then the other names that I mentioned will make it harder for him to get in.

  • @chuckers40 shannon sharpe was inducted already so remove his name from consideration

  • art monk over cris carter?! no disrespect but...

  • art monk over cris carter?!

  • if he scored all those touchdowns nd got all those receptions its hardly his fault he didnt get a ring or 2

  • sux tim brown was go0d wr to0 ...damn ppl need to vote

  • never mind hes out of the running

  • I hope Cris gets in all we can do is try an vote him in ...

  • What Carter has on his side is the fact there really isn't any tight ends that are eligible and should be guaranteed a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame before Gonzalez retires.

Carter should be in before Tim Brown and Marvin Harrison. I think all 3 names need to be get in within 8 10 years from now to prevent a log jam. It goes down to the fact Randy Moss, Terrell Owens already have strong cases for the Hall while active. Hines Ward is about a season away from getting 1,000 catches.

  • I'll be stunned if Cris Carter is going to the Hall of Fame for 2012. My reasoning Andre Reed is gaining voters for the Hall of Fame. The voters seem to only allow 1 passing target a year into the Hall of Fame.

Andre was a victim of politics like Carter is. Andre had great numbers at the time he retired in his era. Reed's problem was related to Art Monk and Michael Irvin getting in.

A lot of voters think since Irvin is in, Reed should be in too.

  • not only does he have the numbers, he light it up with amazing catchs and plays

  • Cris Carter & Randy Moss, that was probably the most unstoppable WR Duo. EVER. I used to hate having to play them twice a year.

  • hands hands hands all hands catches, no body catches

  • Anyone have a problem with this year's hall of fame class. I think that Andre Reed or Cris Carter and Charles Haley should have gotten in this year over the 2 LBs. They should have more than just 7 people in a year. Make it 12, for Joe Namath...... and Tom Brady (your welcome New England)

  • Hey C.C., stop f'n crying year after year you don't get in like a spoiled child!!! I'm so sick of hearing this crap on ESPN. I'm so sick of this cocky, arrogant, know it all, douche bag that whenever he shows up on Mike and Mike I change the damn channel. Show some class Carter.

  • @concretespecial he doesn't cry every year, besides, i think anyone would be heartbroken if they hadn't gotten into the hall of fame. I mean I would so, i don't take it away from him. also your adjectives to describe him were kind of immature

  • c'mon man i feel so bad for him!!!!he deserves way better!!!

  • He got snubbed again. -____-

  • Passed in again. You gotta be fucking kidding me.

  • and his wait continues......what a joke

  • i swear to god if andre reed fucking gets in before carter i am fucking done with football

  • @halodystroyer44 i guess your done with football he got snubbed again

  • @weedzfan1 hell yes

  • @weedzfan1 oh wait, not im not, reed didnt get in either, lol

  • @halodystroyer44 I'd take Reed over Carter any day of the week. And I've watched both of these guys entire careers.

  • @concretespecial really could care less

  • if cris carter is not in the hall of fame this year 2011, then the NFL voter should be ashamed and investigated. It's not how many championship you win it's how play the game..cause some player hasn't won championship and they are in the hall of fame. I was disappointed when Jerry Rice, Emmit Smith, and John Randel went into the Hall of Fame and not Cris Carter. The NFL hall of fame voter should be ashamed

  • @SoulHeadProduction

Cris Carter was rejected from the Hall of Fame class of 2011.

  • Much respect to Carter! 1 of the best that I've had the privilege to see--behind only Jerry Rice! I think he should be there. it's too bad that now-a-days most receivers use those sticky gloves and DON'T even catch with bare hands any more! i have a lot more respect for those receivers who ACTUALLY catch with their bare hands!

  • Who Moss wants to be.

  • Greatest hands ever.

  • If he can't get in on first try, if Irvin got in before Jerry Rice & Emmitt Smith, then at this rate, even Randy Moss would never be a first ballot man, either, and that is sad.

  • @TimHowardII irvin retired earlier than smith and rice lol thats why he got in before them.rice and emmith got in on there first try

  • @TimHowardII I see what you're saying but Irvin was up for the ballot long before Rice and Smith were. Rice and Smith both got in first ballot. Irvin didn't. so you really can't be sayin. "How did Irvin get in before Rice and Smith because Ballot wise, he didn't.

  • What happened in 2007, they pushed him aside so Art Monk can finally get, 2008, they pushed aside so Bob Hayes can finally get in, 2009, they pushed him aside so Jerry Rice can get in 1st ballot. All of those are just terrible excuses but I think that's what's been happening.

  • @jayNicks10 Its sad, but that probably going to happen this year too. Cris Carter will always be a hall of famer to me

  • @jayNicks10 i noticed that too. and in 2011, its possible that hell get pushed aside again so that andre reed can get in, although its possible that it will be the other way around. i think there will be a receiver inducted in 2011, the question is, will it be carter, reed, or tim brown?

  • @Prognosticator00 Oh PLease. SUre, Reed and Brown were great but Carter in my opinion was better than both of them. If I had a choice between those three, I would take Carter 10 times out of 10. Carter is listed number one greatest hands, and he's higher than both of them on the list of top ten players not in the hall.

  • @jayNicks10 i agree with u. im just saying that the hall of fame voters might not.

  • @Prognosticator00 I agree with what the guy in the end said that there should be an investigation.

  • @jayNicks10 true dat

  • @jayNicks10

Actually Art Monk had to make it on Carter's first attempt, then they had to put Bob Hayes in the next year, and Jerry Rice is better than Carter, so the first three times you can forgive him. But if he doesn't make it this year, then there should be an investigation because he's the most talented wide reciever on the Hall of Fame finalists list.

  • Cris Carter had the best hand/eye coordination of any receiver I've ever seen...he made catches that I've seen nobody make, including Rice...Cris should've been a first ballot HOF'er without a doubt...who cares about number of Super Bowl rings?

  • Carter and Rice revolutionized the position in being as tall, strong, fast and athletic as they were. Teams had to start finding db's who were tall and fast enough to not just be rolled over by those two.

  • It's lunacy how Cris Carter is not in the Hall of Fame. I think it's gotten to the point where these sportswriters shouldn't vote for such a honor and let the players that have been inducted vote.

  • All the voters for HoF are just sports writers........not players who actually played the game.

  • @jaquino94

    Bingo

  • Vote for Chris at JCPdotCOMslashFANSCHOICE and the number one voted player will be put in the HOF!

  • Shannon Sharpe also should be In the hall of fame too

  • He Should Be in Hall Of Fame Next Year Class Act !!!

  • Being part of a super bowl winning team should not be a mandatory for anyone to get in so maybe that's why those fools refuse to vote him in

  • @vadimzdonutube exactly

ex. barry sanders, curtis martin, ect.

  • This astounds me. I know he'll get in but come on, should've happened! So what if he played on a team that was totally incompetent in the post-season? Carter caught the ball better then anybody and I mean isn't like catching over 100 touchdowns, sort of like hitting 500 home runs in baseball, enough? I mean seriously he has to be in

  • Viking are my favorite team and honestly how do they not have a Superbowl win yet? The vikings had a number of greats: Cris Carter, Randy Moss, Randall Cunningham, Fran Tarkenton, and now Brett Favre with Adrian Peterson... they are an overall dominating team this year.

  • "Just as good as Art Monk"????

He's got TWICE as many TDs as Monk.

HOF committee is the "Head Up Ass" committee.

  • The fact that Michael Irvin got in before this guy should raise a lot of questions. First question: Why are the people in the HOF committee still in the HOF committee???

  • @2:05, how did Howie Long transcend the game?? he was no Deacon Jones or Reggie White....people can say what they want to, but I think Cris Carter could make catches with more variety and skill (particularly the way he tight-roped the sidelines better than anyone EVER) than even Jerry Rice....when it comes to Receivers, it's hard to differentiate who's better than who based on just statistics

  • The Vikings for recent players on the Ballot had problems getting in besides Cris Carter. it took Randall McDaniel 3 times to get into the Hall of Fame despite having 12 pro bowls. It took Gary Zimmerman a while to get in. I think it was caused by him being a Viking and a Denver Bronco.

Chris Doleman is another player that a played a good amount of his Career as a Viking and isn't in the HOF. I think it is caused by the amount pass rushers that were eligible for Chris Doleman not being in.

  • Cris Carter should have gotten in to the HOF on his first ballot. I think think there is some politics between the writers on why Cris isn't in.

Art Monk is a player that should have gotten in years before Cris was first on the ballot. Lynn Swann got into the HOF in 2001, but I think the voters got the wrong Wide Receiver in. Swann wasn't even the best WR not in the HOF from his era before he got elected.

I think the fact Cris Carter is a was a Viking for most of his career has hurt him.

  • @7thlutz Swann wasn't the best reciever on his team

  • the more the media is allowed to vote on HOF candidates, the further the NFL HOF becomes more and more of a popularity contest....Cris Carter should've been a first ballot HOF'er without question...number of Super Bowl rings should have NO bearing on HOF status because Super Bowl rings have nothing to do with how great a player someone was (single players don't win Super Bowls, great TEAMS do)

  • "GREATEST CATCH I'VE EVER SEEN AND I'VE SEEN 'EM ALL!!!"

  • Art "Hall of Good" Monk is in the hall. Chris "Second best of all time (Moss could drop him to 3) is not.

    NFL's HOF is a joke.

  • there's one thing that is always a factor in getting into the hall of fame. a ring. if cris carter wouldve gotten 1, he would be in. im not saying its right to let that play a factor, actually im against it, but its true.

  • Chris Carter is a Hall of Famer without a doubt. But if he never gets in, which would be terrible, you would have to blame Gary Anderson for missing the field in the 1998 NFC Championchip game. If the Vikings had won it all in 1998, I believe that he would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer and would not be on this list.

  • @patsrule213 agreed, many players are measured on their number of super bowl appearances/wins. When that stat isn't valid they look at how dominant they were during the game, this is how Carter has been sized up, but the voters have made a huge amount of mistakes my passing on him every year. He undoubtedly had the greatest hands ive ever seen!

  • @88Cdizzle Not too mention majority of the voters arent even qualified to be voting there considering they were never NFL Players,Coaches, OR Owners majority of them are just Sportswritters and its a complete joke... but oh well one day

  • @88Cdizzle And the part that's fucked up about that is then why isn't Charles Haley in the Hall of Fame. I think they should let in more than just 6 or 7 players a year. I think 12-14 is good. That way no one is left out.

  • @88Cdizzle Greatest hands for sure. why does he need a superbowl ring to get in? he was THE most dominant reciever out on that field. he has over 1000 RECEPTIONS!!!! and he can't get in?! thats just wrong

  • @patsrule213 Should be first ballot regardless.

  • @ethanga62890

Of course, but he's still waiting to get into the Hall of Fame.

  • @patsrule213 Seeing that was terrible... i almost cut my head off but i figured he'd get another shot... then 09 we get there and favre gets the INT and we lost i was so pissed off nothing but dissapointment ! uhg Vikings always get so close and fall short

  • @patsrule213 if u have to rely on a fg for a win then u as a team didnt play well enough and plus he missed once all year

  • @TheKyle1591

Actually. the score was 27-20 Vikings, and the field goal would have pretty much sealed the victory. This was not a game winning field goal. Everyone points to that moment because the 1998 Vikings were not a great defensive team, and they were not playing up to their expectations on offense that day. The Vikings defense was not asked to stop teams, they had to score to win.

  • @patsrule213 whether they win super bowls or not should not have any effect on their chances of being in the hall of fame. and btw if u compare monk's numbers with carter's, its not even a contest so therefore monk getting in over carter is absurd

  • @vadimzdonutube

Although having one or two seems to help you in getting into the Hall of Fame. And I never said that Art Monk had better numbers than Chris Carter. I just said that I believed that he would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer had they won the 1998 Super Bowl. It shouldn't be a factor that you win a Super Bowl or not, but it actually does factor in to your chances. Just look at Michael Irvin's stats.

  • @patsrule213 Well that loss isn't entirely gary anderson's fault. But gary did fuck up.

  • @WaxenMeatpatty

Okay, it was 100% his fault, but he had the best chance to seal the victory. It was a 39 yard field goal and it was indoors. The kicker is supposed to make that kick, especially one with the track record of Gart Anderson. I agree, their defense didn't stop the Falcons but that defense wasn't asked to stop teams, and yes Dennis Green did go too conservative by kneeling with 53 seconds left. And they had the ball in overtime, but they failed to score.

  • @WaxenMeatpatty

Sorry, I meant "It wasn't 100% his fault" Not "it was 100% his fault"

  • @patsrule213 yeah that was a devastating loss though :(

  • If Cris doesn't get in this year i'm gonna be super pissed

  • The #1 biggest snub of the HOF right now.

  • @AlecBoy006 Tommy Nobis and Claude Humphrey have been snubbed for years. I agree Cris Carter is def the most moderm HoF snub.

  • @ethanga62890 Nobis and Humphrey should be in, but I feel Chris Hanburger and Johnny Robinson are even bigger snubs than those too.

Also, the whole Falcons seem to get snubbed when you think of it:

    Tommy Nobis

    Claude Humphrey

    Jeff Van Note

    George Kunz

All snubbed by the HOF and all played for the Falcons.

  • @AlecBoy006 I'm a HUGE Falcons fan so yeah i agree. Not sure i'd put Jeff or George in there but both should have been on a couple finalists list for sure.

  • @ethanga62890 Did you know that Jeff Van Note's 18 years with the Falcons is the second most in NFL HISTORY with one team? He was voted by Falcon fans as the greatest Falcon ever in 1991. Him and Kunz combined for 13 Pro Bowls, the latter had 8, which is tied with Ted Hendircks for second most of a player drafted in 69. Only Mean Joe Greene with 10 had more. Kunz had more than that murderer OJ and Charlie Joiner, both are in. The Falcons constantly get snubbed.

  • @AlecBoy006 Yeah well i was trying to be objective since my team is the Falcons but yes you are right :D

  • hof! how can there be any doubt.

    Chris Carter, Jerry Rice

any notice alot of vikings and bills player on top 10 list not in HOF.

  • Hof! no doubt!

  • he'll get in there one day!

  • What I hate is that the people that get to decide who get's in are mostly people who didn't even play the game. :/

  • Heck, all I have to do is read off his stats and awards, then I proceed to show the voters the highlight clip.

That should be enough to get him in the Hall of Fame alone in my mind.

  • I never really got that criticism, "All he does is catch touchdown passes." I know what they mean by it, but my thinking is, "....and that's a bad thing why?" Plus, if you want to look it up, about 11 percent of Carter's receptions were touchdown receptions, versus nearly 14 percent for Jerry Rice--so if either of them deserve that stupid, ridiculous "All he does" label, it's Rice.

  • @ShowMeConservatism That was a criitcism given to him by Buddy Ryan. I think they are really mocking the quote. When Carter was released by the Eagles for substance abuse problems, Ryan gave that excuse to justify releasing him.

Then Carter went to Minnesota and just exploded.

Best boundary receiver I ever saw. Don't know how Art Monk got in over him.

  • @Coganboy Oh, no doubt. I know a few people used it to mock the quote. But it was still the dumbest quote I think I ever heard.

Were the Eagles justified in releasing him? Yes. But they should've manned up and said that he had personal issues to deal with, rather than saying something that doesn't even really sound like something to be criticized over.

  • @ShowMeConservatism But that's just it though. The reason Eagles coach Buddy Ryan didn't tell the media Carter was going through drug problems so he wouldn't humiliate him publicly for it, giving Carter a chance with another team. Cris Carter himself even credits Ryan for doing this and helping turn his life around.

  • @Coganboy As for Art Monk...he had been eligible for about 7 or 8 years and they were getting him out of the way. Carter wasn't "first-ballot" material, which makes it a lot easier to justify passing him up every year when half of the inductees are "first-ballot" material and the other half are "let's just get them out of our hair". Sucks, especially considering only 5 members can be from the "modern era", while 2 spots are reserved for the seniors who couldn't make it in on the first go-round

  • @ShowMeConservatism HAHAHA, THE ARGUMENT AGAINST HIM IS BETTER FOR HIS CHANCES TO GET HIM IN THE HALL OF FAME THAN THE ARGUMENT FOR HIM

  • @ellohotto They do not want 2 Wiiderecievers in the Hall of Fame at the same Time but they will have Three Quaterbacks in

  • I know that he is better than Michael Irvin.

  • @ 1:35 "Greatest catch that I've ever seen!! CROWN HIS ASS!!!"

  • @ironman36 How about Kevin Greene,

  • I think carter should have been in 1st ballot. I'd also like to add Tim Brown as a hof snub. brown played with some very average qbs during his prime.

  • Cris Carter will no doubt go into the Hall of Famer. the thing that he should be is a first ballot Hall of famer. very few receivers are considered better than him.

  • and hes still not in, dude shoulda been in years ago.

  • Great job! Been looking for this clip!
