This is adorable! And no, it's not at all child abuse. I can say, with several years of experience with young children, that what the parents did was smart. The chances that the kid will go back there again are probably pretty slim after his experience. Was he in danger at any time? Well, besides "I'm sinking!" haha.

Oh my God, I can't believe the number of comments claiming that this is child abuse. If you think this is child abuse you've obviously never had children. The parents took advantage of the opportunity to SAFELY teach their child a lesson about not climbing behind furniture. The child wasn't in danger and he wasn't in any kind of distress. When the point got across (which took VERY little time), they got him out. Lesson learned, no harm done.

I saw this in early 2010, and I laughed my ass off then. I just had my 1st child, a girl, in Feb, 2011. Watching this now makes me laugh in a whole different way.
