this may seem a dumb question but I see that almost every rifle works with a piston except for the M4/AR15. Are there any more rifles/carbines that use direct impingement?
@14goldmedals That's great. Always nice to see these classics being well cared for. I have a 1942 M1 Carbine. It shoots very well and is easy to maintain.
@RiSiNGPHENiX552 If you think M1 Garands are load, try firing a .50 caliber BMG. That thing will give you a headache you wouldn't believe. It's the only gun that when you buy it you get an owners manual and bottle of aspirin.
@thehippoman1 no, he is right. Although allied forces did help to win the war, Russia won the war for the most part. Almost 27 million russian people lost their life in the second world war. They serounded Berlin with 2 million men. They won the war, but the price was high. I'm not pro-Russian or something like that, but it's just what happend.

@thehippoman1 Tell them! Imagine how much longer the fighting could have dragged on if Allied Air Forces in the West had not taken out German industry, or knocked out their fuel refineries, or if their navies had not crippled Hitler's global reach on the high seas! Even American materiel aid saw the Soviets through some terrible, terrible times at the hands of Nazi Germany's better trained armed forces.
@flamezealous German production of military hardware actually increased in spite of bombing (read up on Albert Speer). The Germans used oil from Romania and until the Soviets took the Ploesti oilfields, the Germans had enough oil. A surface navy was not important to Hitler's goal of occupying a contiguous Europe and the Soviet Union. The Russians did most of the gory fighting of the Wehrmacht and bore the horrible brunt of Hitler's scorched earth policies--unlike France, England and the USA.
@thehippoman1 .. Once the U.S. boomed the hell out of Germany, they imported the Nazis to the U.S., and created most of the Alphabet Agencies and NASA.
@thehippoman1 I completely agree with you but americans are ingorant when they say they won the war. The russians took more shit and did more then the Americans did and we do owe them for not giving up. Im canadian and we get the least amount of credit and our troops took some of the worst shit in the european theatre. but you know "america won the war and bailed us out" bullshit. its so convienient america always comes in to take the glory last minute just like world war 1.
You're 100% correct, I'm Canadian too, and people always leave out Canada - I guess because it was part of the British Empire. We still, however, fought independently.
Anyway, all I'm saying is that the entire winning of the war was the effort of all the Allies.
"Nationalism is an infantile disease" - Albert Einstein
Russia would have been sucking there thumbs if it wasn't for the lend lease act and the allies help! that war was won due to a effort of everyones help and everyone pitching in, no one country could have gone agents Germany, Italy, and all the other axes powers alone!
@BigMek456 No rifle won any war actually, it was the people and the weapons/equipment/logistics and so on that won it... Small arms like rifles played small part compared to air forces, navy and artillery action :P
This is a cool video!! May I ask where you found this video? I was hoping to get it too, this video really helped me figure out the workings of my M1 Garand
