@SaifoMadness Actually, yes you do. It's a pretty common drill. By putting a second bungee higher up, it can help the athlete try to get inverted and shoot upwards rather than flattening out. He'll be trying to clear a height that isn't quite in his grasp, so he'll be reaching for it and shooting up more than normal
@SaifoMadness It's not meant to be. It's just a drill to help them get used to getting back like that. A lot of times, athletes can't completely tell what they're doing right or wrong. When they finally do get it right, they'll know what it should feel like and they'll be able to know what to do next time
@SaifoMadness Not really, but I'm familiar with that drill. We had two bungees set up for different levels so we didn't have to move the standards up and down.
lol 2nd jump you hit the bungee with your ass. If you want to get to 13'6 and actually clear it (just getting over the top of the bungee doesnt count), you're gonna need to actually learn form. Plus a freaking 11'6 jumper could get "over" 13'6 like that. SMH
@718310@JTred i agree with718 and clearly you were trying to show off your height other wise you wouldn't put a height and slow -mo it when you go over so yep
Yeah. If you watch in the lower right corner at the end of the video, you can see the red pad that you can't see while I am jumping. The video was over 30 minutes long I just added that end part for fun.
It is either 13' or 13'6". I think I'd know I put it up myself. That is a 14'3"(ish) pole. if you subtract the 6" for the box, that puts the top of the pole at around 13'9". If you watch, when he is touching the bungee and the camera is started it is down at 8', then it's put up to 13'6" (ish)
@JTred you moron you don't factor in the depth of the box. So really the standards are at 13, with the majority of the bungee probably saggin down to about 12'8, and seeing as you obliterated the bungee on each jump, I'd say you don't jump much higher than 11 something. You have a long way to go in pole vaulting and mathematics but don't worry there's hope....well in your case....just slight hope
The height of the standards is measured from the ground, not the bottom of the box. So if I set the standards at 13'6" and the bungee sags a few that puts it at 13'3"ish. The video is really more for the camera angle and not to show off my jumping.
do you aim for one bar and clear the other :P silly you

people are retarded..he obviously lowered it to take it down at the end..dumbasses
MrYankeesfan413 1 year ago
if you watch the rack at the end it's not in the same place when he takes the bungee off, so he probably did lower it.

courselanguage 3 years ago
not the perfect video but i like the camera. ever thought of putting a lipstick camera on the actual pole? you should try it.
NSHSpolevault 3 years ago
yeah like jonny said if u completely inverted on ur pole and turned u could get another foot easily

that guy must be huge if he can take a 13'6" bungee down without lowering it!

haha. i love you spike

sweet angle. you're getting your turn in too late though. you could go another foot if you turned a half second sooner
jonnycaron 3 years ago
good angle. i always wanted to grab a ladder during vault practice but never got around to it.
