I do wonder how they completed the exploding cake stunt. The light from the explosion, reflected from the actors present so some light-emitting event must have occured in the room. Then I suppose, with darkroom trickery they added a second blast - that projected toward the viewer - to complete the illusion. I just wish I had a full understanding as to howit was all completed. THESE colorized versions add a whole new dimension, allowing the shortsto appear to be virtual time travel. Really good!

The kind of characters that seem to be created solely for the pleasure of seeing them chopped up, blown up, or whatever. Carey's too tall and skinny to be Curly, but I'd buy him as Curly before Black. The persona type is closer. Probably why they're talking about Carey in the first place. But he just doesn't look like him. Maybe the perfect Curly will just pop up out of nowhere.
