We might as well stop making war, superhero, zombie, romance, space and gangster movies too! since theres probabaly hundreds, if not thousands, of movies of each type. Guess we're back outside now, no more movies to watch.
I really enjoyed this tv show, I hope they make a season 2 because the ending of the first one was really great and left me and my girlfriend wanting to see more. Even tho it has some things that are similar to other series, ( specially true blood), there are a lot of weird cool stuff inside the gates that you will never see in twilight or the in one mentioned before, true blood. Give it a try, watch 3 to 5 episodes :) if you dont like it, stop seeing it. Everyone has different tastes.

Check out Being Human (the BBC version), two seasons so far and the third in production. Seriously sweet storyline and and good vamp/werewolf intraction. I'm also old enough to remember one of the first vamp/werewolf storylines to hit TV..Dark Shadows back in the 60's. Scared the snot out of housewives everywhere! lol

I really hope you aren't one of those people who love vampires because of True Blood. Before True Blood, there was a lot of good vampire movies and series, and you won't change that. In the eighties, there was a very good serie called Forever knight, if you want to check it.

The gates isn't a TV Show about vampires, when you realize that, you'll understand why i say it's not as bad as you desperately say. It's about a lot of things: there are just two or three vampires in the whole show, the rest are werewolves, succubi, witches... It gets better every chapter. You shouldn't have prejudices about a TV show that you haven't watched completely.

And werewolves, and the dad being a police officer...not saying I disagree with you, just saying it has more in common than just vampires, like how they all go to school and its a small town and community.

@policemanaaron for fuck's sake, it seems people think Stephenie Meyer invented vampires and werewolves! NEWS FLASH, SPOILER ALERT! She didn't! She certainly brought the vamp-craze to a whole new level, but ppl have loved vamps way before Steph ever had "a dream" and decided to write about it.
And anyway, the Cullens are more like fairies than actual vamps if u ask me.

@LexiHeartDesign it is funny to me that you say "actual vamps" like you really believe they are real and that you have actually met one and know what they are like. stephenie meyer did not invent vampires but she created a entire new type of vampires, before the cullens they were all the same stories with crosses, garlic, coffins and burning in the sun.

@dipsyhappy Looking back on what I wrote I think I was rude, and I apologize. But just for the record, the crosses/garlic/coffins have also been gone long before Meyer, for example the Vampire Diaries and the Southern Vampire Mysteries, to name a few.
