I had one of my videos muted too because one of the songs in the games soundtrack is owned by WMG. That's something that I have no control over, but that's not the part that's bullshit about it.
The song it was muted for, didn't even play during the video. So WMG is pretty much just assuming that they have the right to mute anything [Games, Movies, etc] that contains a piece of music they 'own'.
I say anyone who finds music that doesnt get pulled let all of us know what it is so we all can use NONE WMG music and support and advertice the none WMG artists. This will show them that us useing there music is advertising.
WMG deleted one of my videos today, because of the audio. I'm not getting paid, I make music videos for my favourite films out of respect for them, not for personal gain.

I find it lame that you can't post something that you've purchased the CD, do we only buy the CD's to listen to and not allowed to use for posting in videos/content even though we give credit to the band of the CD for their music and respectively show it's not our own making of the music.

Ok, this doesn't have to do with WMG, but a video of a recent Space Shuttle lanch I posted was disabled, for copyright, BULLSHIT! It's a public event, NO ONE owns the footage/ audio! Thankfully YouTube agreed with me and it's back up. Not to mention counttless of my favorites are gone!

I had one of my videos muted too because one of the songs in the games soundtrack is owned by WMG. That's something that I have no control over, but that's not the part that's bullshit about it.
The song it was muted for, didn't even play during the video. So WMG is pretty much just assuming that they have the right to mute anything [Games, Movies, etc] that contains a piece of music they 'own'.

WMG deleted one of my videos today, because of the audio. I'm not getting paid, I make music videos for my favourite films out of respect for them, not for personal gain.
It's just fun. Creativity should be encouraged, not oppressed.
If we can't upload videos for people to enjoy, then there's little point in this site exisiting.
Why do WMG insist on treating people like thieves?
If I see a film I like, I go buy it on blu-ray.
If I see music I like, then I buy it too.

via com is the other problem child in this issue, I had over 3,000 clips, all travel clips with background music, all deleted this summer, some were 5 years old. Also my parents 71st wedding anniversary clips r gone. copyright also applies to logo's, movies, tv shows, youtube is 2 blame for how they r doing removals. not fair to remove 1 users item and allow hundreds jus like it to remain.

I feel you on this problem, I have the same issue most of my videos have been blocked because it apparently matches a third party content. I find it lame that you can't post something that you've purchased the CD, do we only buy the CD's to listen to and not allowed to use for posting in videos/content even though we give credit to the band of the CD for their music and respectively show it's not our own making of the music.

Just got my vid deleted because we used LOTR music in the background, gave credit to the composer and claimed no rights and out right said that it wasn't ours and we had no part in making it. Personally, I think it's bullshit and that we should consider giving youtube the finger and walking away if shit like this keeps up.

They're not going to delete the vid if it's popular. It gets them more hits if they have popular people singing popular songs. It's just us people who aren't straight out plagerizing but using the music as background and aren't in the million and above views club who are going to get our shit smacked down. It's that beautiful little corporate mind set that as long as you're popular, no matter what you do, it's okay because you're obviously too important to risk pissing off. It's bullshit.

But what do I see on Youtube, video's and AMV"s with the same song and they don't remove them! They even have a "You can buy this on Itunes" popup! Its not right and I'm might even leave Youtube for it! The've sone this so many times, and its not YOUtube anymore.
