  • and do not forget.... he played with Bread live and does the amazing solo on "the guitar man".....

  • anybody knows what is the song title of the song in the end of the video? thanks

  • Hatian Divorce and Kid Charlie!

  • if i were a producer, i would have this man on every session in some form or fashion just because he is so musical. guys like this are special and it's pure pleasure listening to him in action. it amazes me he has such versatility. one of my heroes for sure.

  • I got to see him play live with Naked Lunch, and his interpretations of the Steely Dan canon were mind-blowing. This man is a genius! His playing is a new and fresh take on an established standard, his recorded works only scratch the surface of his capability as a musician..

  • Parks is flippin amazing!!! I had the opportunity to work with him in the studio on a project by a band Naked Lunch, a Steely Dan tribute band. before he came, he requested that I have a Analog Delay, Compressor, Wah Wah, Overdrive, and Volume Pedal. We ended up using my pedal board, and he fell in love with my delay (Biyang AD-7) and it turned out he uses the same wah as me the Dunlop 95Q, it has automatic switching.

  • Parks is happening. Thanks for posting this.

  • Dean is a studio guitar god and I had the pleasure of seeing him perform with David Crosby and Graham Nash recently. Everything he plays is tasteful and smooth and with killer tone. He even played great pedal steel on "Teach Your Children Well". He's also on Lyle Lovett's tracks.

  • I am trying to remember a song by Fagen or Parks, or Steely Dan and blues number with killer guitar something about new york?????? Any ideas?

  • That was "Peg", which Dean absolutely nailed the guitar solo on (reportedly put together from just two takes). Those who tried their hand on the same song were Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, but at the end of the day, Dean came up with the perfect solo. Worthy of being amongst the most memorable guitar solos of modern music.

  • Actually it was Jay Graydon that cut that solo.

  • sure, very good player, I had the fortune and the pleasure to have him playing pedal steel in my 2006 single album "No ocean to divide"

    absolutely amazing musician and person
