Also, I wonder what the foundation for the moral system is--how do you answer somebody who says why strive for moral excellence at all if it's not of interest to you? Or if you say "empathy is good" and if somebody else says "I disagree," what makes the guy in favor of empathy right?
This seems like a strategy for getting people to act morally, not a system of morality. Desirism tells us how we may get people to act in certain ways, but in this speech I didn't hear how we determine what the "right thing" is. This seems to me more psychological than moral.

The moral theory asserts that a 'good desire' is that desire that tends to fulfill other desires.
A 'bad desire' is that desire that tends to thwart desires.
A good act is that act that would be done by a person with only good desires.
A bad act is an act that a good person would not do.
And, as you have probably guessed by now, a good person is a person with only good desires.
Its called desire utilitarianism
