  • thank you very much for the video it has improved my driving a lot.

  • Great video.

  • This works. Psychologicaly its great to think of this once you approach the T. Thanks!!

  • I decided to try this out as I'm a new golfer and haven't had the confidence to hit my driver during a round as I slice so much at the range. I hit 50 balls at the range and sliced ONE. A few got hooked but most were lovely and straight. I decided to try it when I played and hit a couple nicely but stuck with it. I played again today and out of the 7 or 8 drives I hit I only sliced 1 due to being off balance. The rest were arrow straight and approx 230y. One really sweet shot went 270y.

  • this shit is legit thanks so much making golf much more fun again!

  • This a the tip of the year. It works, nice tight draw now and solid contact!

  • the only tip i`ve ever used that actually works, just had a round with no slices at all,my playing partner couldn`t believe it!!!!

  • This is the best golf tip on Youtube. Thanks again, this cured my driver slice.

  • This worked the first time I tried it. I was able to hit the ball cleanly and without making a divot. Yes. I use to make divots with my driver.

  • Nice advice, different to most and well worth a try.

  • This video pointed out every driving mistake I've been making. I'm a beginner but I've made significant progress with hitting Iron shots. But my driving just didn't seem to be improving at the same rate. Now I know why! I'll take this good advice to the course and see what happens.

  • Thx, COGG. Incidentally, will it do any harm if I use your driving off advice with the decoy and still use the "reverse K" position? Can't I just use your advice and also lean back to the right so my back is at a 70 degree angle? Cheers.

  • Thnx for responding, COGG. Much appreciated. Another quick question, if I may: When you are driving off, COGG, do you yourself lean back slightly to the right, so your back is at approximately 70 degrees?

  • @theholme7 That position you're talking about id the reverse "K" position. When you use my set-up you do not have to do this, simply get into a comfortable position and make a swing the same way you would with a 7 iron. If your COG dosen't pass the decoy, you will hit a good drive...enjoy! check out the site for more at cogolf.ca

  • @theholme7 The reason for the reverse "K" position is to place your COG in the proper place approx 4" behind the ball...if you set up with the COG method AND do the reverse "K" your COG will be too far from the ball and you will have to slide in to the proper striking position. The reverse "K" is difficult to get into and hold during the swing, I think you must do one or the other not both...BTW..are you sure your spine angle is 70 degrees...tough to measure, with my set-up...no worries!

  • quick question: when actually driving off in the golf course, do you look at the decoy during your swing or the actual ball?

  • @theholme7 Thanks for the note...good question, I think you should pick a decoy and stare at it even when you're playing. The ball is not going to move until you move it, if it works on the range, it will work on the course. eventually, you won't need the decoy to stay back, but it's always nice to know you can use it whenever you want.

  • Ive just recently started playing golf again . . . not to sound stupid or anything, but I have a couple of questions regarding this clip: a.)Is this clip/advice in relation to the lowest driver (ie, a 1 wood)? b.)The guy in the clip said the decoy is approx 4 inches behind the ball, so, when about to drive off, should I keep my eyes fixed on the decoy or the ball? Your input is greatly appreciated. Thx.

  • @theholmez75 Hey, thanks for the note, see the above answer, always keep your eyes on the decoy, it will hold our center in the right place.

  • I went to the range yesterday to hit for the first time in nearly a year. Wish I had watched this before going! Seems like some real sensible advice that I look forward to applying to my next visit to the range. (maybe tomorrow!) Excellent video.

  • Fair play i tried it and it realy works well i was surprised. I tried every thing to stop me slicing my ball and this trick done the trick. Thanks mate nice one

  • Tried your set up this morning with my driver, and wow; I was hitting the ball down the center with a slight draw........just the way you are suppose to.

    Thanks

  • Finally a tip that WORKS!!!! Thank you Rob. I have had lessons, read a lot of books etc. to cure my slice with no success. I stumbled upon this early this spring and wow, it brought the fun back in the game. I like what I see so much I even purchased the CoG book!! I have 2 questions: Do you have any suggestions for hitting 3 wood off the tee/fairway? I am from the Maritimes and you had some teaching history in PEI. Do you have any future seminar/clinics plan in the Maritimes?

  • @quispamgolfer Thanks for the kind words...enjoy the book, I know it will change your golf forever. The 3 wood set-up is in the book, off the tee just tee it low and use the set-up I show in the book, the decoy is still on your shirt button, about 1" behind the ball. I'll post any lectures or clinics when I come to the Maritimes. Thanks again...enjoy!

  • Thanks for the video. Hit the course today and was hitting longer and more fairways than ever before. Even resulted in my first ever birdie. Keep the tips coming.

  • This tip instantly cured my fade! Thank you so much for the video!

  • WOW - started they year out driving great -even had driver/SW on one 490 yard par 5...then my drive has been lost for the past couple of months... all over the place ... worked on tempo, weight shift, grip, ball position, new driver, width of stance, amount of turn ... nothing would get me consistently in the fairway ... Found this video yesterday ... hit the course last night (didn't even hit the range first) - ONLY missed one fairway !!! had my best round of the year - THANKS Rob

  • This tip works a treat!!

I now very rarely have a small fade in my tee shots! Thank you so much for this video!

It has helped me thrash my dad even more now ;)

  • this works I had an awful slice and this works really well

  • good video. but i still have one question, how do you prevent a slice/hook? i really liked your trick, so i was wondering if you had one for hooks and slices. Thanks

  • @SteelWizard43 Thanks for the note! That set up should take care of the slice...as for the hooks, they are causd by an over rotation of the clubface. Firm up the "Boss fingers" (top 3 on your glove hand) and that should take care of the Hook. Thanks again!

  • Good video. But i have a question, how do you prevent a hook/slice? I know i can find other videos but i liked your trick you showed in this video. Thanks

  • now i gotta go to the range!

  • this really helps - thank you!

  • Ur a golf god.

  • Rob U R Da Man! First viewed your Vid 3 months ago and was driving 260 & straig

  • yes finally- something that actually works!

  • Unbelievable how long I have been slicing with my driver. This really helped. Now if I can figure out how far away I should stand , I'll be there. Lol. Thnx for the help

  • Thanks for the tips, Rob! I struggle with my driver and I've always attributed it to the fact that my driver is so much lighter than my irons. The idea being that the extra weight in my irons brings a much more natural feel to my swing when using irons. The lack of this weight makes my driver swing more erratic ... although I do consistently slice. Would you say this is typically a psychological barrier or a valid concern when using the driver? Cheers.

  • @edzvs You could have a valid point, if your driver is too light you may start to cast is trying to feel where it is in your swing. I have a heavy driver as I prefer to feel the club during my swing. Have your driver weighted up and see how it feels...keep me posted.

  • How high do you tee it up? Is it higher than normal, personal preference, or whatever works?

  • @flyingninjahamster Your Tee Height depends on the width of your stance. The farther away from the ball your center is, the higher your tee has to be. The driver moves UP from the bottom of the swing to the ball. adjust your tee accordingly. Keep me posted!

  • This works really well. Still the hard part was not looking at the real ball and imagining the decoy. Though I can't see the moment of impact well, it still goes straight. Well then, what else you need?

  • I just wanted to now, if I'm playing in a competition, if I should put the club face four inches behind the ball and imagine a target without looking at the ball. Thank you

  • @BarryG5 Hey Barry, Thanks for the note. You should absolutely place the clubhead on your center and imagine (or use an actual decoy) piece of grass, divot, etc. It will help keep your center from moving during the swing. Let me know how you make out...

  • I'm not sure how or why it happened, but last month my standard driver miss was a duck hook, which I somehow replaced with a power-fade -> slice. I was hitting it straight maybe 1 out of 10 times.

After watching this vid, I took my exact same setup as normal, except rested the club at my centre of gravity rather than at the base of the ball. What followed was 20 straight drives that never missed my target by more than 30-40yds left or right. Thanks a TON!

  • pure, simple, USEFUL information and instruction that doesnt call upon plastic gimmicky attachments and contraptions that cost hundreds of dollars...only thing you need here is an extra tee! thanks Rob! :)

  • Golfgod! You know your stuff man!

  • Thank you so much, you have fixed my drive in 6 minutes. The first time I tried it I was a little unsure but I just went to the driving range today and it worked magnificently! I can now drive the ball 250 yards and they were all straight apart from one slice where I didn't roll my wrists at impact. My long irons still need a little work but I will feel so much more confident to step on the course.

Thanks again, I look forward to any other videos you post.

  • I watched this video yesterday for the first time. I have spent money on lessons and countless hours on the range with no success at all with stoping my slice. I hit 50 range balls with 3 slices yesterday using this tip. I was in shock that I could actually be able to do that. Thank you so much I can't wait to get on the course and play.

  • I hit the driving range for the first time ever today and could't figure out why my shots were occasionally. Watching this video I now know why. Thanks very much.

  • Brilliant tip. I have been struggling with a slice for years. Have had numerous lessons to fix it but it never carry's from the range to the course .Tried this on the course last weekend and my slice is gone. COMPLETELY gone. Thank you so much. Had my father try it as well because as hes getting older he has lost tons of distance. Instantly was hitting the ball 25 - 30 yards further then normal. This is the real deal.

  • Came accross your video this morning and used your tip this afternoon on the course. I have developed a horrible push slice and just have to say that your advice really helped me out! I need to practice it a bit more on the range but as a last minute fix, I was very surprised how well it helped me today. Just got to say thanks! Heading to your website to add to my favorites now.

  • This has helped big time. Strange feeling of letting go not focusing on the ball. Still trying to figure out the sweet spot for tee height. I have never hit the ball so high before. I think it might cost some yardage this way but is worth the trade off. I find the 2 feet together to start the set up works everytime but is a little harder to set up alignment of club face to target than aligning club face then stepping in.

  • Question. At what point do you move your driver up to the ball in your pre drive stance, if at all. In other words, do you ALWAYS aim for 4-5 inches behind the ball where the shirt button(center of gravity) is? Thanks :)

  • @jwshelley Good question...I never move my driver head up to the ball at address, this changes the geometry of the swing and puts you out of position. The bottom of the swing is ALWAYS on your COG so it has to stay 4-5" behind on the driver shot so you can hit up at the ball on the tee.

  • Thank you sooo much for the tip! I kept hitting the ball always to my right and I couldn't figure out why, i took your advice and it was very beneful. It would be amazing if you could put videos up about hitting 3 and 5 woods and tips on how to stay down on irons (my weaknessess) Thank you!!!

  • @MrNPW14 Thanks for the kind words...my system really does work and you will see instant results. All the info you need is in my book and DVD set available on my website cogolf.ca and there is even a downloadable version. All your questions will be answered...Thanks again

  • Makes complete sense. This proves that u cant swing the driver the same as ur irons. Cant wait to go to the range and fix my driver. This alone will put me into a single hdcp. Thanks much!!!!

  • Was this recorded at the Bandama's golf club in Gran Canaria?

  • @iVanHalen666 This video was shot at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club, I think my favorite in the Caribbean, lots of pics from there on my site. cogolf.ca

  • Going to try this later, with my shocking slice with a driver im hoping it'll help.

  • I was hitting awful popups and cut slices on my drives and I used this method this weekend and it improved my drives 110%. Made things so much easier for shot number 2. Thanks so much!

  • Great video!

I followed your advice and hit 100 balls yesterday. I could see a big time improvement. I have had many people tell me many different things, but this helped the most!

  • very helpful thank u

  • This is great advice. The only one thing I would caution is his comparison of wedge and driver swing motion being the same. It's not. Drivers and fairway woods are more of a sweeping action where your takeaway is more shallow, the wedge and irons have a steeper angle of attack where it is a descending blow.

  • @utahgs I couldn't agree more, the arc is smaller and steeper with irons and wedges but only because they are shorter...the swing doesn't change, only the arc of the swing changes due to he length of the club.

  • @utahgs Same here. I don't know much about golf but I feel myself very comfortable hitting clubs up to the 5 iron (average 165-170m) which i think it must be pretty good for me. Nonetheless, when it comes to hit the driver I do exactly what I'd do with the irons, except for the ball position, and boy what a mess! the ball just flies up like a wedge and lands before the 150 meters mark. It's so funny and ridiculous at the same time :D. Can't wait to put in practice this guy's tips.

  • Watched the video and headed to the driving range. OMG, there's finally some daylight in terms of figuring out how to hit my driver more consistently and w/ less slice. Thanks a bunch!!!

  • Hello, I am new to golf and I am very happy to see this video, I haven't tried it yet but I have a question. How far should my right foot be from my left foot after my setup. Also, how far should I be away from the ball?

  • @CFCanuck Thanks for the note...Just take a shoulder width stance from the center with your back foot, that will determine where the bottom of the swing will be. As for the distance from the ball, there is a video in my group that explains it fully, have a look and get back to me...Thanks

  • great , loved your video and i'm off to the range

  • this is a great tip... it cured my slice and gave me a few extra yards.

  • Would the same apply for a 3 wood off the tee?

  • @hairypeanut Good question, for fairway wood shots, set your COG 1" behind the ball, this will allow the club to bottom out and sweep the ball off the grass. The triangle is always the same, the ball position only moves for fairway woods and driver.

  • Just like that!...this guy is full of Jems of info, I recently took up golf and have struggled with everything, but after this vid i gave his technique a go and wow!!!

    It bloody worked...thanks!

  • COG is KING! Check it out at COGOLF.CA

  • I watched this vid last winter and really liked it. Now going the the driving range and hitting it strait. Doing pretty good for just my 3rd year golfing.

  • @eugenemr That's great news, keep up the good work, It's more fun to hit it straight and long! check out the entire site at COGOLF.CA

  • Awesome!!! I was slicing and fighting my driver for the past few years. Range day after range day and still no cure. I was only averaging 230-245 drives due to the bend and had no forward spin if I hit it straight. I am now hitting it straight and averaging 260-275 with several drives exceeding the 300 mark. Have eagled two par 5s usually not reached by me in two thanks to the added distance. My playing partners have began calling for the sites info as I am in the lead off the tee now. THANKS

  • @chieffs98 Thanks Chieffs...Send them to my website, you can get ALL my stuff there, If you liked the Driver set up, you'll love the rest of the system...Awesome drive average, PLUS 40 - 50...nice

  • Hi sounds brillant must try this, but by setting up like this you are playing the driver more from the middle or right foot which i have been taught is wrong you should be further forward will it make it harder to hit the more you put the driver back in your stance. Cheers Reevo.

  • @reevo79 Thanks Reevo...When you set up the way I show in the video, the ball will be of your left instep. The driver at address will be in the center on your COG, thats the bottom of your swing, (not back in your stance) put a decoy down to keep your COG behind the ball at impact. Let me know how you do!

  • Excellent news - a possible cure to my problems. I need to go and try this out. I assume based on your explanation that this technique is the same for all of your clubs within reason. A 3 wood of the tee or fairway? Long irons off the tee or fairway? It would just different gaps behind the ball to focus on? For 5 Iron down most people hit them Ok.

Great work though - Could be the start of something beautiful for me. Good News

  • @6stringmus1c Thanks for the comment...Ball position is very important because golf requires consistent geometry in order to create consistent ball flight. to see the ball position grid according to COG, see the ball position video on my channel.

  • I figured this out on my own but somehow I have reverted to my old ways after months of bombing them straight. I think it's my weight transfer. plz help!

  • @grimeytown You have to let me know what's happening to the golf ball after you hit it. I should be able to fix it when I know what's happening

  • @CenterOfGravityGolf Firstly, thx for the response. The shots i hit with my driver now go sky high and dont start to turn right until about150 yards. Just got a Sasquatch Square driver today. Hoping that may help.

  • @grimeytown Hey Grimey, thanks for the note...a new driver will not fix your swing, if you're popping the ball up, you are moving your COG towards the ball on your downswing, changing your driver geometry. You have to keep your COG n the center, and swing the driver past it so you can swing UP at the ball. Order my system on line...read it and you will understand what is happening and how to fix it forever. Then your new driver will work! (and so will the old one)

  • you have earned your self a sub!!

  • Absolutely the best results I have achieved with any golf tip-ever!!! If you slice - like I have for more than 25 years--this tip has cured it for me. Just like Chapmnadb' comment 7 months earlier....I never slice anymore--just an occassional fade. I have also added probably 15 yards to my drives making my entire scoring go down as I now have a better second shot with a shorter iron. THANK YOU ROB---WHY DID I NOT GET THIS TIP YEARS AGO---I'm going out again this next weekend.

  • Rob, Thank u!!

This drill really worked! Now when I drive the ball, I don't even look at the ball. I just look at a spot about 4-5 inches behind the ball and swing.

One of the best tips ever! Thank You!!

  • going driving range later probably, so i'm definately going to try this out. From other people the results sound good, so hopefully i can eliminate my almost incurable slice.

  • @lidddlelewis ....Should do Lewis...keep me posted!

  • @CenterOfGravityGolf The slice is reduced a lot. heck, i can even hit a lot of them straight, just need to work on the distance side of things now. Thanks

  • Great lesson, Thanx :)

  • I'm assuming much of the advice you gave is the same for a hooker like myself... I'll be trying some of these techniques tomorrow....

  • @chickenandwaffles09 If you're hooking the ball, it's a clubface problem...squeeze the Boss Fingers (top 3 on glove hand) make sure the right hand does not take over...you will not hook it!

  • That is, without fail, the best video golf lesson I have watched. I got immediate results. Thanks for the tips!

  • My dad and I went golfing today. I used this method and outdrove my dad every time. He made me walk home.

  • @noowaytodothat This is the best reply I've had in more that 1000 replies, I love it! E-mail me at rob@cogolf.ca, I would like to put that on my site..Thanks

  • Respond to this video... Read this guys comment....I laughed out loud

  • @noowaytodothat No! He didn't?! LOL!

  • your the only guy on youtube that has helped me with my slice... you do not understand how grateful I am... and how grateful my wallet is for having to buy more golf balls to replace the ones i slice!

  • It really works. Thanks for the tip, now I hit straight and far.:D

  • This is AMAZING. I can hit my 4 iron straight and long nearly every time off the tee but have no confidence/success with my driver. I just took these tips to the range and the results were instant! THANKS SO MUCH. Ged from Manchester, England!

  • This is AMAZING. I can hit my 4 iron straight a long nearly every time off the tee but have no confidence/success with my driver. I just took these tips to the range and the results were instant! THANKS SO MUCH. Ged from Manchester, England!

  • Great tips!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=1q1yo1jMxB0&feature=player_embedded

  • Really works. I was inconsistent off the tee spraying a lot of balls right when trying to launch it. Tried this for last three rounds and I'm hitting 8/10 drives straight and longer than ever. Occasionally i wil hook one left which for a tormented slicer I will take any day of the week-any ideas why I've started doing this? Over rotation perhaps when I get a bit giddy?

  • @aidannelson Thanks for the note...a hook ball flight is an over rotation of the clubface, usually caused by the trail (right) hand. squeeze the "Boss" fingers (top 3 on your glove hand) and you will not hook it.

  • i'm 16 and just now started playing golf. first 3-4 games i played i sliced it like crazy never could find the fairway, spent more time lookin for balls and more money on balls then playing. The next day i tried this on 9 holes of golf and it worked everytime! woww! no more slice and i hit the ball longer and farther and cleaner then ever! it will work

  • A really easy and enjoyable video to follow and understand - thankyou. Following this method, how high do you believe the ball should be on the tee when teeing off? Cheers.

  • @uteboy08 have half off the golf ball above the driver head! not all cause u will pop it straight into the air of course!

  • @uteboy08 Sorry I missed this comment and took so long to reply...your tee height totally depends on the width of your stance....the wider you stand, the farther away from the ball your COG is and the higher the tee must be. My suggestion...take your normal stance and see where the bottom of your swing is. Move the club up to the tee'd ball and be sure it makes contact on or above the club's center line. Once you standardise your stance width, your tee height will be standard too...

  • don't lke to tempt fate but your methods seem to work.

  • Great video .Last week couldn't hit a drive this week couldn't miss one. I can't give you higher praise than that

  • because of your video i can hit a golf ball :D heheheh

  • this is the best tip i ever had it realy works!!many thanks!

  • Been trying this with my drives for a month now and been hitting 70% of fairways instead of the usual 30% without slicing and lowering my handicap!

  • My drives are now longer and straighter then before....hitting at least 70% of fairways instead of 30%. Great tip!

  • Great tip! Can't wait to try this at the range.

  • Excellent video and lesson! I have one quick question, where do you look when you don't have the decoy anymore? Should I bee looking at the ball or the grass behind it! Thank you for your time!

  • @mrcali68 Thanks for the comment, try to always use a decoy in practice and when you play, simply pick a piece of grass or a broken tee asa a decoy. eventually, you will be able to look at the ball and keep your COG back. If you start to move the triangle again, put the decoy back in play. Consistency is all about understanding the geometry of golf...Have fun!

  • @CenterOfGravityGolf Awesome info! Thanks for taking the time to reply!

  • I play hockey, baseball, and golf. so you can see where the problem in my swing has developed, but after i watched this video i still havent sliced or pulled a ball in the range. Thanks alot.

  • This is exactly it! Thank you! Since I watched this video I'm hitting every ball straight with my driver. Even when I bomb it with all my might the ball goes straight! All those instructors talk about stance, grip, wrist roll, blah blah blah. All just stuff to make my swing feel non-natural.

  • WOW!!! Just easy and to the point. Definitely will try next time at the range.

  • this is the best golf video i've ever seen....i've been fighting a slice for 6 months now ,after watching this i went for a round and managed to hit a draw on every tee shot..

What would your advice be for hitting a 3 wood of the tee?

  • @ewenmathison Thanks for the comment! To answer your question, tee a 3-wood ball up about 1" off the ground and set your C.O.G. approx 2" behind the ball, from then on, it's the same as the driver...Golf is al about Geometry, get the geometry right and you'll have fun. Enjoy!

  • @CenterOfGravityGolf

Thank you so much for this video lesson. I played golf yesteday and was slicing every drive. I saw your video, went to the driving range and was able to pin my drives straight on using this technique. As per comment above you advised a 3 wood off a tee. What would you adivse for 3 wood on a fairway?

    Thanks again.

  • @antpatjimmcsweeney Thanks for the note, the geometry for hitting a fairway wood off the fairway is to set your COG 1" behind the ball. This gives the clubhead the room to bottom out and sweep the ball off the grass. Check out my "Ball Position" Tip video on my website, and give the entire system a try.

  • @ewenmathison Awesome News! keep it up

  • this is the best golf tip i've ever had, I've been fighting a slice for the past 6 months ,After watching this video i went and played and i've never hit the ball so well off the tee...thanks

  • @99broski It sounds like you dont release the club at all...go to my video library and look for the tip video on release...if you release properly, you cannot slice.

  • @torath87 Hi...Thanks for the comment! Sounds like you're doing OK with the driver set up. The balloon shot is caused by the ball contacting too far up on the driver face causing it to wrap around the crown and balloon up. Try teeing the ball a little lower so the ball hits on the center of the club-face. The other thing that can cause a balloon shot is hitting the ball with a downward blow, but if you're keeping your center of gravity back, you can't hit down on the ball. Keep me posted!

  • @Genobreaker90 Thanks for the note...It sounds like your standing to far form the ball at address. Always remember, golf is geometry, and if the geometry is out, the results will be inconsistent. The bottom of your swing is always on your Center of Gravity, and that is approx 4" back from the ball, however if you are reaching out to the ball it throws the geometry off. have a look at my tip video (Distance from the ball) It may feel close to you at first but it will be correct. Keep me posted!

  • Does this only apply to drives?

  • @xGunnaGamingx Thanks for the reply, the Driver requires the 3 -4" I mentioned in the video, fairway woods require a ball position 1" back from your COG. There is a ball position tip in the video library, you'll see it there. Thanks again!

  • Great video. Like the idea of the club staying with center of gravity behind golf ball.

  • awesome video, everyone should try this!

  • this was brilliant

  • Thanks for posting this video. I went for a quick hit after work yesterday and its been the best advise i've had not only am i hitting straighter off the tee but it also has given me an extra 40-50 meters with your decoy tip. Thanks alot mate

Lookin forward to seeing more of your vids

  • Fantastic video. I've not hit a slice in three rounds after watching this. However although about 50% of my drives are now well hit, I've started to develop a pull on the others. It's at least a refreshing change!

  • @doctorshaw That's excellent Dr. Shaw. Your pulls are coming from the direction your shoulders are pointing at impact. Pull your trailing shoulder back a little so they point straight down the fairway at impact. Pull is gone!

  • marvellous

  • I can't seem to hit my driver straight no matter what I try.the rest of my game is good.because my drives slice right,I have to aim left for the ball to swing back into the fairway which costs me about 70 yards plz help!!thanks

  • @bullski01 First of all..Dont Aim Right. Make your set up like I show in the video and don't let your cheek pass the decoy on your downswing. It sounds to me like you do not release the club properly. Check out my video on Releasing the Club on my website. cogolf.ca If you do this you cannot slice...period. Keep me posted!

  • Hi!

I heard many times that you should have more weight on your right legg (if u are right handed) in the up swing? is that right?

  • @zanzia Good question...Al tot of people say that, unfortunately, if you hang back on your right leg you have not made a proper turn (no engine) a proper weight shift is a complete engine turn (see any Professional swing) your weight ends up on your left side, but your Center of Gravity stays behind the ball...Make sense?

  • @CenterOfGravityGolf yeah, thanx alot!

  • Best 6 minutes I've ever spent on my golf game. I have left the driver in the bag for the last three years because of my constant slice. After watching this video I went to the driving range, grabbed a bucket of 100 balls, and hit about 80-90% of them straight down the middle or with a slight draw. I won't be scared to pull out the driver this Saturday. Thank you!

  • Isn't the center of gravity different in males and females? Would women still do the same thing as men?

  • @Scorpioliciousful Good Question! COG in men and in women might be in different locations, either higher or lower but it is always on the center, never to one side or the other...if you use your shirt button as a guide, you can't go wrong, the center is the center...Thanks for the post!

  • "by this one thing alone"

    cheeks are that important lol

  • Wow everything you said (the pop up ,pulling the ball ect.)I have lived on the course I can tell you for sure I'm making the mistake's you described in this video.I 'm going to try this decoy trick it makes alot of sense I'll let you know how it goes thanks!

  • Excellent video and well explained, will try out very soon and report back, thanks.

  • This video is amazing. Thank you for your tips on driving the ball straight. I have been following your advice for two weeks and have been amazed with the results.

Everyone should try what he recommends...It works!

  • fantastic advise

  • Fantastic video. I will make sure I get this into my game, and I will post more feedback on my improved success. =] But this stance, is just for shots with a driver, yes? Or can it also be used for iron shots? I have not been playing golf too long. I will also be getting lessons very soon. Thankyou.

  • did someone say something about center of gravity?

  • Instant results after viewing this video. Thank you very much Rob Bernard!

  • I have been trying to cure my slice for about 2 years and i'm regularly on google looking at videos in the hope i'll spot somthing new. This video explains good set up and explains the swing very effectively. I went out and hit 8 balls. 2 were duffers, 1 was a hook and the last 5 were perfectly straight! Thank you for posting this video you have made me a very happy man and looking forward to my round tomorrow. Keep posting your videos please.

  • excellent instruction.

  • thank you. what a great tip you gave us! I knew about the ball position thing but never understood why. i will try this tomorrow!

  • Very helpfull thanks alot

  • Rob, I just wanted to thank you for an inspired piece of advice. I'm just starting out and couldn't hit a drive to save my life - this has changed everything! Still working on it, of course (like everything else), but I now have tons more confidence teeing off.

  • excellent video just tried this works very well. Did u make any videos for hitting irons?

  • @smithadam1 check out my complete system, youll love it!

  • i just fixed my slice im glad i found this video it was so simple!!!!

  • ok, so it works great, but I have a tendency to "bottom out" @ the decoy. Any advice? Plz get back to me, I love the theory but am having a problem executing.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack If you are bottoming out at the decoy itès probably your right hand, firm up the boss fingers on your glove hand, this will keep you from bottoming out...zenjoy!

  • I can't wait to try this out. I am hitting all my short clubs straight and far but have basically given up on my driver. Hopefully this will turn things around. So simple to understand. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

  • EPIC WIN!
