haha you are tripping me out so much in this vid. forcing me to think about the fact that i am present engaging in dialogue (in the Buberian sense) with a piece of your past and right now you are off doing something completely different. what a strange happening this is
Interesting video! Every time you referred to your viewer (in this case, me) as growing older with a mediated document of you, it made me wonder: during the temporal span in which you created this video, were you somehow growing older with me? Or, were you simply growing older with a computer? Does this asynchronous response reconstitute your memory of that moment? Add significance to it (even though this response comes in the form of text, not an audio-visual representation of myself)?
Great stuff. Yet with all the advances in communication it seems that people have regressed. Look at the resurgence of religious fundamentalism in our country US. and abroad. What do you say about this issue. I suspect it has more to do with hierarchy enhancing (Sidanius and Prato 1999) than "love for God".
I personally prefer Youtube to stickham, because with the former there is real listening which I didn't get from there nor from normal communication actually. We have forgotten how to LISTEN
And YT allows that. I dont see time like you suggest. I see it more fluid so when I watch you now this is you now then lol
do you read baudrillard?

Agreed. Listening is all but dried up.

You forgot to mention about the «Audio Books» and «podcasts» and so on.
It is now possible to do your shopping, or walk or sit in a Cafe, listen to your Book in Audio from your iPod, and do other things at the same time.
( Apart from the fact, that not all Books are available in Audio Format )
No need anymore to waste all these extra Hours and switch Pages and destroy your Eyes, while not being able to move around.
