  • i live in saskatchewan about 2 hours from saskatoon and 2 hours from regina, do you know of any decent spear fishing lakes?

  • Diefenbaker! BC fisher here but I've been out to Diefenbaker a couple times with my extended family for some ice fishing. Fun lake, not crazy about the trout as that's more common than suckers here but still loads of fun. A Hog by any standard

  • you fnckin spearfishing with a tank in a river hahahaha!!!!! watta baby!!

  • Oh my gosh i so want to spear one! That looks so yummy! I seriously would probably wash it off and take a fresh chunk out of it. Sushi!

  • he is holding the fish like its some kind of assault rifle :0

  • Bro, i spearfish, and i know the regulations, im prettysure it accounts for all of canada, "you cannot spearfishing for Salmon, char,TROUT, sturgeon or shellfish unless you are native"

  • @xXbloodbabaXx u forgot to say "aye"

  • @xXbloodbabaXx it doesnt' apply in saskatchewan. we can spearfish any game fish. all the same rules/limits apply as with regular fishing. sask is the only province in canada where this is the case.

  • AWESOME!!!! God damn I wish we had your spearfishing laws here in BC

  • That's the fattest trout I've ever seen !

  • When you are spearing on scuba, you have all the time in the world to get a good shot, yet yuou still managed to hit him in the meat. JBL makes terrible spearguns

You are the biggest pussy. Try freediving you loser. I Just love how you are acting like it's such hard work. PUSSY PUSSY !!

  • 1-JBL are the worst spearguns on earth

    2- That bitch is pregnant

3- Sweet fish man good for you

  • What? biogenetically enhanced trout is what Saskatchewan's fishing is all about? fucking bullshit, i'd be scared to eat that thing.

  • its so pregnant

  • atta way

  • spear gun still kind of cheater but it still hunting games... that ur way it fun but my throught of it not cool... if u go under water see those any of fish and spear gun caught big size.. i like litte hard way to use fish with pole if they bite my lure bait caught big or small any size surprise..

  • @scooby10doo21 dude, i fish rod and reel and with a speargun/polespear and trust me...spearfishing is WAY harder. i dont use scuba tanks though. depending on conditions you might get more fish with the spear but thats only if the water is clear enough and the fish aren't biting hooks. this only happened once at a inlet bridge here in NC

  • Spearing these is allowed becasue they are killing the native poulation of trout and other species. look at the gut on this beast. If you do not get rid of them, they will kill the real browns, rainbows, salmon, etc. I say, spear away!

  • @navydiver190 Native Salmon in Saskatchewan? Can only think of one lan-locked salmon and don't think it's that far east. But this was introduced accidentally species and just eats, not drive to breed so they grow super fast.

  • give up a nice fight. OW WAIGHT U SHOT IT!

  • these trout cane out of a hatchery all billions of fingerlings were dumped into a river/lake after a hatchery dam broke. these fish now forge on othey baitfish

  • are these hybrid trouts sterile or can they spawn/breed and reproduce on their own?

  • Too funny boys - nice fish! That was really fat!

  • BOW FISHING FOR TROUT IS LEGAL IN SASKATCHEWAN??? WTF?

Wow, you westerners really are a bunch of redneck faggots.

Trout are gamefish, treat them as such. Even retard hillbillies like you can eventually figure out how to use a rod and reel, give it a try! They've got books with big letters and easy words down at the library. Library... you know, where you can sign out books... it's probably in town, a long ways away from your white trash trailerpark... check it out, retard.

  • they were spear fishing you dumb ass

  • Yeah is it legal there?? I know in Mb. you can't spear fish for trout.

-As far as your comments about using a rod and reel, well I don't know what to say, there's nothing quite like going down there free diving (no scuba) and watching a big fish come out of the darkness and hunting it down with a spear gun! So fun! And physically demanding.

  • you really are a waste of skin haha who the fuck cares how he got this trout and it makes it even cooler that he shot it with a gun...and there is noway you would catch it on a rod n reel ...there is a reason its so big but i really think your jelouse haha

  • You fail so hard.

Internet Epeen u have. They fish how they want to.

Thx for the video Guys, was fun to watch.

  • where'd u buy the gun at??

  • just check online many sites sell them, they work very nicely.

  • can u help find me a site?

  • leisurepro has them.

  • aite, thnxs

  • kool!! biggo shit!! where do u by it at?

  • its not wild look at the fins.

  • amazing !!

  • nice!

  • dam that big good job

  • o u fish at definbacker ive beeen there too good fishing

  • Is that one of the ones you were talking about in the burbot spearfiching videos?

  • Triploids are made by dipping the eggs in hot water for differing times until it messes up the genes, making the fish neither male or female there both really. Because they dont make sex cells(eggs) all there nutrient intake goes to the body, therefore making them big fatties. They cannot spawn btw.

  • is that up or down stream from sask landing? we were camped there and the subject of those suckers came up and we werent sure where the hatchery was or where people were catchin em...

  • So what are the species that make up the triploids exactly? I have to say they are some strange looking trout hybrids.

  • How many apnea spearfishers are there going to be in Sask? Most places don't allow it but in the cold water fast water it would take alot of metal control to have a good bottum time. I've done some spearing of whitefish and it's not easy. Looks like fun Chad that things huge.

  • cooooool good one he's a monster dude

  • thats a huge bow-odd shape to it

  • Chad I'm not even kidding you that is freakin sweet. I will be fishing Diefenbaker this fall to try and get one of those big girls. Definitely going to catch and release though.

Alberta has just started to stock triploids in our trophy destination waters and already I can see major difference starting.

  • This was a male....I wish I could catch and release....thats why I only took one home...triploids are being stocked in AB? interesting..

  • Yup. Not in all lakes, just the trophy ones. It's pretty good for people who are interested in catching bigger fish. Aerate it over the winter, 0 limit, bait ban, and its open April 15th to October 31.

The fish get a lot chunkier, and don't worry about spawning obviously.

They're even stocking triploid brookies now too so this is goona be sweet.

3 years and we'll have 10 pound fish, no problem.

  • are you serious wilbur?

  • Your goddamn right.

  • @Saskatchewanoutdoors i gotta make a trip up to Saskatchewan those rainbows are crazy, un-natural almost haha where i live in BC we have Kootenay lake witch has giant Gerrard rainbows but they aren't anything like them triploids , Diefenbaker holds too many records for my liking , two of them are by the same guy! for rainbow and burbot! as far as keeping them i dont think it matters , as far as i know the triploids dont breed, so its not like your taking breeding fish away from the lake.

  • @albertaoutdoors Where do you know of in alberta that is stocking triploids? I am from AB as well, but do most of my trout fishing on the rivers in southern AB.
