Brilliant how chase combines the woods with the 2 characters that just passed away in the series. Remember the childhood memory Tony had from his youth with Tony. B when they were walking in a forest with the leaves falling. Adrianna was killed in the forest too. Now these two stories are woven together in this masterpiece ending, sitting in the forest waiting to be blackmailed by his hungry for money wife Carmela. Magnificent.
I have often wondered what would have happened if Adrianna had refused to make a deal with the Feds and had just resigned herself to do the time, if she was even capable of that.
@superhornet69 Yep. and not to make light of it, but they weren't charging her with intent to direct distribution. I forget the exact charge, but she got pinched cuz it was going on at her club. She was probably looking at 2 to 3, might have been out in 15 months on good behavior, something like that. It wasn't like Big Pussy who got pinched for pushing H and was looking at 30 to life. Really is said, her charcter truly was the start of season 5 tho.
@Antrizzle2009 WTF?! she was getting charged with Accessory To Murder and Obstruction of a Federal Investigationson! Because of that MidEastern drug pusher who got killed in her office. She dumped the bloody towel with his blood on it, which is Concealment. She could've gotten 25 in the pen for that. And she was pretty, too? Them dykes would've had her eating pussy till Suri Cruise graduates college.
Excellent.Tony looks up at the woods and trees - what does this tell us? Two things: the memories of himself and his cousin, Tony B, during their childhood, and also, Adriana - a very similar environment where Silvo took her down. All the problems, all the memories, all the conflict lies within the trees, and Tony looks up and almost cries.
@TQmatt he was crying because he was having yet another pity party for himself with everything coming down around. he isn't that fucking introspective, he's a sociopath narcissist.
@ShitWrangler Tony is portrayed as a complex person throughout the series. He may be a sociopath narcissist, but we see through scenes like this just how human he can be, especially given the proposed feminist contradiction in the series—the fact he's with his wife in many of these type of scenes. He's not a gangster here; he's a husband with worries on his mind. Of course Tony is introspective—he's just like any other human being. Everyone thinks deeply about themselves. Tony is human.

Hard to appreciate nature fully when your subconscious is chock full of horror.
