Hmmm...well it depends on what kinda gamer you are. Let me put it to you this way: I was never much of a fighting game buff--and I'm still not--but the last "over-the-top" entry into the Vs. series--which was Marvel Vs Capcom 2--got played AT LEAST two hundred times in my Dreamcast!
If you're used to Smash Bros, you need to keep in mind that many of the moves require more complex inputs and are more individualized. For instance, many projectile attacks in fighting games like this one...(TBC)
...require you to "roll" your control stick (or D-pad) by moving it down, diagonal, and then forward in one swift motion and pressing a punch button. Different moves for these characters would require a "roll" in a different direction and/or the kick button.
Other characters require a "charge" for their attacks. That is to say, you hold down a direction for one or two seconds, then quickly let go, hit the opposite direction, and push an attack button. For different moves, you'd charge...(TBC)
...in different directions or use different attack buttons.
If you're casual, this probably isn't for you. HOWEVER, if you're hardcore, this is actually easier than it probably sounds. And once you've mastered "rolling" and "charging," it's easy to pick up most every character in 2-D fighters. There ARE a lot of other intricacies to these games--various types of "Cancels," assists, aerial raves, and hyper moves--but if you know "rolls" and "charges" the rest kinda takes care of itself.

@Sonicisbadazz bushido blade actually would count as a fighter but power stone is a melee, But I think power stone is a extremely good game. bushido is more like a 3d fighter like soul cal in my opinion, its just realistic.
If you only got into SSB, then it might be a little complex. I started playing ssb when I was little and I loved it, still do to this day. My brother showed me MvC2, and it was a hard to play. But once I got used to the controlls and learned how to tweak it, it was a fun game.
You should definitly try it. If not, return it. I know I'm getting it and keeping it for sure.

Ah no, this game came out in 2008 in both Arcades and Wii as the exclusive platform. Now the american and european versions are superior to the japan version of the game but the game is still exclusive to Wii.
