This is supposed to be the impact of Apophis? According to Neil Tyson a world renowned astrophysicist the asteroid is the size of the Rose Bowl, and it would hit earth at about 10 miles a second, that's about 36,000 Miles per hour.

It would not cause anything seen in this video, it would wipe out the enitre West Coast of the U.S. but it's not powerful enough to wipe out humanity.

The technology exists to deflect it, it's only a matter of choosing the method. BTW it's not guaranteed to hit earth

The asteroid will split apart causing it to hit TWO times the earth. You cant change the course with a nuke, you will split it into pieces. Also this asteroid is 10000x bigger than a nuke

@skillsz0rs If we were to send the nuke straight to the asteroid it would blow it apart obviously, most asteroids are made of ice and weakly bound rock, but if you were to detonate it a few MILES away like I said the shockwave wouldn't be hindered due to the fact there is no resistance in space and would push the asteroid off course without being so powerful it would destroy it.. check out the nasa documentary on youtube.
