And why is realestate so destructive? Because the capital expended upon land adds no value to the real economy. The materials used to build a structure provide employment to others. The land that structure is built upon is natural capital for which we cannot produce (obviously) yet in most cases, the value of the land far exceeds that of the building that sits upon it, Insanity. A blackhole leading directly to busts and foreclosures and bank once again sweep the pot... But not this time ;-)
