  • Is this music from Transformers? No? Hm... Armageddon? What? Mass Effect 2? Sorry, they all sound so alike.

  • I played this just to get into Liara's pants....again...

  • I loved the banter between liara and shepard during this mission, they really improved liara in comparison with her role in the first mass effect, where she was just bland and boring.

  • This is one "cold" video. =p

  • Liara definitely has the most privilege among supporting characters. Has her own personal dlc, information network and ship, shows deepest character improvement, always feels close and protective of Shepard (Shepard's meat and tubes included :) and the only character that never dies as a story option. Yes, in case you didn't notice, all ME players will have her alive in ME3 regardless of whatever they done in past. Liara will play a huge role in the last chapter, just like every ME game so far.

  • Pretty much the coolest combat theme in the game! Hell, pretty much the best sub-story in the game!

  • Shadow Broker: I know your every secret, while you fumble in the dark.

  • Awesome, makes me wanna play this DLC again... and again... and again... and hmm.. well again.

  • I like how you connected the two pieces so they sound like different phases of the same instrumental piece. ;-)

  • Liara: My hacking machine is illegal even on Ilium - it didn't come with a warranty!

Shepard: But you tested it, right?

    Liara: More enemies.

Shepard: Tell me you tested it!

    Liara: Watch out.

  • @LiberalIntervention It is not "watch out" but "no time to talk". :)

  • This DLC feels like an entirely new enhanced experience. it's unique yet compelling. Hypes me up for what Mass Effect 3 would be like.

  • i swear, this game took more life out of me than fallout or even skyrim.

  • @diotus21 same here xD

  • This video went viral on Caracas

  • Or more.. As a pet.. Am I doing good?

    SB: Urgh.. *RAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEE*

  • i lost all my saves for me2, normally id be pissed off but since i havent played this in awhile im looking forward to kicking some collector ass plus having a go at the shadow broker

  • "NO ONE CAN SAVE YOU NOW, ASARI!"

  • go go go go go go!!!

  • Hell Fucking Yeah! Chris Lennertz is officially confirmed as one of the composers for Mass Effect 3!

  • subscribe :D

  • Nothing like fighting the vanguard specter with another vanguard (with charge).

  • I AM yagh...nope doesn't have that epicness

    I AM KROOOGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

  • @EDDIEinWAR I AM Batman.

  • Liara is going to be a badass in Mass Effect 3. :D

  • 2 people are baby-mercs; who are mad Shepard told Liara to stop giving them tactical advice.

  • This score is so epic!

  • Shadow Broker DLC - My greatest WTF I wished this was real moments. Stormy atmosphere thunders and ever in the twilight of darkness and sun. I love this mission for the WOW effect.

  • The only downside about the Overlord DLC was that it was nothing more then a ultra glorified side-mission compared to Arrival which continues the main storyline, but the actual content was A LOT better then what the Arrival DLC was.

In a way, I think Bioware created the Overlord DLC just to test out if exploring in the Fire-Walker could work out if they brought back planet exploring in Mass Effect 3.

  • I love playing this DLC mission because of this song :D

  • "stop giving the mercs tactical advice!"

  • this music makes me miss my omni-gel Q_Q

  • i bought this dlc for 3 reasons:

    - this dlc is the best of mass effect 2

    - i love fighting the shadow broker

    - i want to continue liara romance for god's sake!

  • @xXNOIRLEGENDXx I got this dlc because yeah, I wanted to kick the Shadow Broker's ass.

  • Truly the best DLC ME2 had to offer...I think the best DLC Bioware has ever offered.

  • @N7infiltrator IMO the best DLC ever in any game and better than anything else in the Mass Effect 2. This is simply fantastic.

  • @sorwis It's a tie between this and Arrival. Both were equally epic IMO.

  • @Emcmillin09 Nah, Overlord wins the as the second best Mass Effect DLC hands down. Arrival didn't offer anything new to Mass Effect other then to add a background story that jump starts Mass Effect 3.

Overlord not only had new gameplay elements like the "platforming" mechanic across the lava rivers but it even brought back vehicle exploration which Mass Effect 2 went away from. The original ME might of had too much, but a lot of people including myself missed the vehicle exploration gameplay.

  • It gets kind boring around 2:05

  • Im not sure why part 2 of the combat theme wasnt included in the itunes release. Thanks very much for having a DL link :)

  • THis soundtrack just makes me want to go back to the shadow broker layer and battle him again !!! GRRR

zimmer+lennetz+mansell+two steps from hell= epic win

  • I really hope Chris Lennertz will help Clint Mansell with ME3 soundtrack. He could be a perfect assistant. His music in "Lair of the Shadow Broker" and "Overlord" is ten times better, than Jack Wall"s was in the main game!

  • @Dadashov92 I wouldn't say better. Yes, the music is fantastic, but so is Jack Wall's.

  • @Dadashov92 You are going to have to give a proper argument for that one or go fuck yourself.

  • The metal version is better.

  • seems like the perfect music with a timer.

but yeah it reminds me of some old ost, where you meet SB it just feels familiar. atleast a couple years old.

  • They need to replace jackwall with whoever did the DLCs...

  • @FireBenderKwyna Yea, totally. Whoever did this and overlord. Mass effect 3 isn't being scored by Jack Wall, but some other high ranking one, maybe thats a good thing, especially for the end of a trilogy, seems right to change things up a bit.

  • Liara, please don't give the mercs tactical advice.

  • Comment removed

  • @XboxMan360power don't make me do the dark knight speech :P

  • Apparently the people who wrote ME2s music aren't writing the music for ME3... the new people have a high bar to reach.

  • @TheRealBarnez clint mansell (the composer for mass effect 3) is more than qualified to compose the music for me3

  • @42crazyguy It's Clint Mansell? Oh god! If there's any scary scenes the music's gonna have me sleeping with the lights on... xD That guy is a legendary composer.

  • @TheRealBarnez

Yeah, it's gonna be hard. It's not like it's Hans Zimmer, the guy who did REquiem for a dream or anything... OH WAIT.

  • @Evilguy951 Yeah, I know! I literally screamed with excitement when I heard that, and I'm a guy, lol.

  • Go go go go go go go go go go!

    I'M GOING!

Also, I hear head-on collisions with trucks are bad for you.

  • ME2 had so many epic songs I hope they keep their great work on.

  • This thing I liked the most in this is that it didnt just have epic fight sequences and twists it also had COMEDY and good comedy at that :D references to the previous game and funny jokes. Wish games where more like this, most games make lame jokes. I loled all the way through :P all I need now is arrival then Im good till ME3 :D

  • @MajorShepard Liara: gogogogogogogogo!

    Shepard: i'm going!

    Liara: Truck.

    Shepard: I know.

    Liara: no, truck!

    Shepard: I KNOW.

Shepard: d'you remember the good ol' days when you could just slap omni-gel on everything?

Liara: Those security upgrades made a lot of people unhappy!

SB: You travel with fascinating companions, doctor.

    Am i missing some?

  • @TDA792 : Azure?

In some places in Illium it refers to a certain place in the Asari body?

    Where?

    In the lower reaches?

I meant where in the body?

That's exactly what I mean Shepard.

  • Now if I could find a source for the cutscenes from ME:2 and Lair of the Shadow Broker I could make a killer AMV. To bad my computer is not hooked up to my TV, so I can't rip the images from the Xbox game. Darn! I give that point to the PC version. DAMN YOU PC GAME VERSION! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!! :)

  • @TDA792

Liara: Do you mean this body ?

  • @TDA792 Reckless, even for you commander.

  • @TDA792

Liara - If you can make him bring that sheild up again, ive got an idea.

  • @TDA792 You enjoy this, don't you Shepard?

  • @TDA792

Shepard: What kind of weapons does this thing have?

Liara: It's a Taxi! It has a fare meter!

  • @TDA792

    Liara: Truck!

    Shepard: Again?!

  • @TDA792 Liara: TRUCK!

    Shepard: Again?

  • @TDA792 liara: your enjoying this arent you?!

  • @TheBarns95 remember when we could just slap omnigel on everything? :P

  • This is actually the sound that my iPhone plays when it wakes me up... Every morning, I don't wanna get up, I feel really weak - only my iPhone changes it. Every morning, I wake up with AWESOME EPICNESS OF FURY!!!

  • :D I love how games get some of the best music :O just makes them Epic!

  • Liara*- head on collision at this speed... Shepard*- yeah, i heard those are bad for you! XD

  • Did you see how Liara pissed off the Shadow Broker just by

telling what he is and how he became the Shadow Broker?

    WOW.0_0

  • LOTSB is the only MASS EFFECT 2 ost which seems it would fit in a film, I mean, all Mass Effect's soundtrack is great, but they don't have the movie style.

  • @KaminoProductions I don't know, the overlord combat theme would have been pretty suitable.

  • Is it just me or did shepard and liara sound like an old married couple in this?

  • @toadofsteel

Well she is over 100 years old.

  • I just finished playing Lair of The Shadow Broker, and I've got to say it was amazing. In fact, all the ME2 DLC i've played so far have been great. Now I've just got to play Arrival...and wait for ME3.

  • @kintaro06 yea, that wait is gonna suck. but it's gonna be so worth it!

  • anyone else thought they were batman when this music came up? this definetly sounds like something from the dark knight lol

  • wow cant wait for ME3 when liaras going on my team or kadian! Not joking that is real!

  • I felt like a relationship with Liara in ME:2 was the only one that meant something. All of the other girls just kinda threw themselves at you because they thought they would die. But then again, she did the same in the first game, but I guess her personality made it seem legit and not sleazy. Whatever the reason, it meant more to me since she was the only one you can continue loving from the first game. I was actually happy for Shepard instead of, "Yeaaah imma get some blue ass." Oh, Bioware.

  • Liara come back please !!

  • reminds me a lot inception ^^

  • I know your every secret, while you fumble in the dark.

Oh no le you don't motherfucker.

  • I'm kind of sick of hearing this game being compared to Inception. Inception should be compared to this game.

  • @ceruleanraven Also, mostly talking about Soundtrack

  • 0:35 to 0:47 is EPIC. Loved hearing it during the combat on the Mission. Felt like a badass.

  • Awesome stuff plus also sounds a bit similar to the music on the film Speed.

  • Does it sound like Inception to anyone else?

  • The Shadow Broker disliked this video.

  • Its pointless to challenge me Asari, i know your every secret. While you fumble in the dark...

  • this sounds a hell of alot like the overlord combat theme sped up trololol

  • Comment removed

  • If only there was a "flashback" option somewhere on the Normandy that allowed you to replay certain missions. I wanna replay this DLC without restarting.

  • I had problem defeating Tela Vasir on Insanity. But then i realized Liara had Stasis, and after that it was easy. Rest of the DLC wasn't that hard.

  • @Viaak man was easy kill her enven in insanity i just play with her doing biotic charge like her, and the shadow broker as well, i dont know why such a big deal i actually enjoyed more the game in insanity than in any other diff, only anoying thing was the collector leader he spawn powers like crazy.

  • My guess is they didn't let Liara join your team, very disappointing by the way, because her role skyrockets in ME3.

  • @sarttan I agree. It would be way too tough for Bioware to add yet ANOTHER "she may have/may have not died" scenario into the game, specially when dialing with the ONLY original Mass Effect member that's 100% safe from dying thus far, along with whichever human member you chose to save on Virmire.

  • Gosh this Theme rocks my socks off

  • Bioware if ur reading this, make Liara a companion in Me 3, those 2 kick major ass

  • "Truck..."

    "I know"

    "Truck!"

    "I know!"

  • @alias100

    "Truck !"

    "Again?"

  • @alias100 lol

  • @alias100 in my mind it woulda been funnier if her said that, then if your in a relationship wit her he says "Woman would you shut up and let me drive!"

  • Cool DLC.

  • sounds alot like the dark knight and batman begins soundtracks by hans zimmer

  • My favorite DLC by far.

"What kind of weapons does this thing have?"

"It's a cab... it has a fare meter..."

  • I was watching my brother play this, and he said to me 'the soundtrack's gone all 'Batman Begins' on us.' It was a good thing!

  • @acolytexiv That's exactly what I was thinking. Except I was thinking more along the line of the Dark Knight. Either one though I guess.

  • Anyone else think the shadow broker looks like the ogre's from Dragon age Origins???

  • Am I the only one who was expecting the Shadow Broker to be Barla Von from Mass Effect?

  • @CliffDiverBOA I think it's safe to say EVERYBODY'S theories about the Shadow Broker were totally proven wrong.

  • ,,,Does this remind ANYBODY else of the Batman theme from The Dark Knight? I swear it has a very similar feel to it.

This is a very good thing, IMO. I love it.

  • @ArianaUO321 Yea thats what I first though, and I was like, damn, this is one good DLC

  • @ArianaUO321 Totally I felt like batman playing it except............MORE BADASS

  • @ArianaUO321 the percussion and moving part are almost identical. And Dark Knight was scored just as brilliantly as ME2.

  • @ArianaUO321 No! It has a feel that I'm playing Shadow Broker DLC and that's even better feeling. :)

  • @ArianaUO321 damn you beat me to it. i was gonna say its sounded like Chris Nolans batman! :(

  • @ArianaUO321

I hear some minor similarities, but nothing major. I don't think this sounds too much like the Batman theme from The Dark Knight.

  • @ArianaUO321 YES!!! I thought the same thing while doing this mission!

  • @ArianaUO321 yes, it has been making me want to watch batman every single time i hear this music.

  • @ArianaUO321 ye thats because the ostinarto is extremley similar to the one of the dark knight, play em both then compare. the composer deffinitly took inspiration :P

  • @ArianaUO321 It does have a similar vibe to it as most Zimmer's musics.

Could call it irony since this is probably the dullest song in the series so far.

  • Who thinks Liara will be one day a terrible bad-ass Matriarch, gives this post a thumbs up. By the godess, she is already bad-ass now.

  • @SupaCaliTomik

Yeah, I am entirely shocked that NO ONE REALLY HAVE THE GUTS TO SAY PUREBLOOD TO LIARA ON HER FACE because of her really powerful biotics. Even she's a Maiden and one century year old . . . .

    Liara's grown up now . . ..

  • This is real music...

  • I came

  • Say hello to the Shadow Brokers private army.

  • Comment removed

  • This is by far the best Mass Effect 2 DLC yet.

  • This music got me killed so many times. The beat just got my blood pumping so much that I just wanted to biotic charge everything that moved...

  • this music is EPIC! kinda sounds like the dark knight score, which is not a bad thing at all. Bioware is just amazing!

  • I think Jack Wall may have been channeling some Hans Zimmer when he composed the music for this DLC... Not that that's a bad thing in any way, shape, or form.

  • 1:02 When I heard this I'm like oh my god ME2 has a godlike OST.

  • The first 35 seconds sound like an upbeat version of the Overlord Combat theme. Overlord Combat > LotSB Combat theme, but overall This > Overlord. This music had that "running outta time" feeling, Overlord was just heroic and epic.

  • Comment removed

  • EPIC

  • This DLC is the SUPERRIOR.

I fink bioware should use this awesome music in suicide mission becouse it gives me chills>

  • Wish I could fuck Liara doggy style

  • totally sounds like the dark knight. which is a good thing :D I loved this DLC

  • I agree ME2 had much more epic and better music. I do love the very small pieces of music from Me1 that last only a few seconds like when Saren shoots himself or when have that like 5 second cutscenes of walking towards the Thorian.

  • Best DLC ever. Cool bosses. Cool banters (just like old times). Cool mini game.

    My epic meter broke . . . . .

  • this new track is very good, but i must agree with those who say that me1 has better music than me2. It`s true, ME2 OST sounds like Hollywood movie soundtrack, I like it especially love Suicide Mission track, but ME1 music is just awesome - Vigil theme, Virmir Ride and many more are purely epic

  • Comment removed

  • Magicnotemonkey i agree they shouldve done a variation of the main theme but its still pretty good. And yea me1 had more sci fi sounding music and me2 ost wasnt as good especially this one part when ur recruiting mordin the combat music sounds like a cheesy 50 year old movie

  • I don't know, you guys must be easy to please. I don't care for this music, personally. It sounds nothing at all like Mass Effect, in fact, it sounds like generic Hollywood action music to me. You mean to tell me you guys can't tell the difference between this and the soundtrack for ME1? ME1's music was unbeatable compared to ME2!

  • @MagicNoteMonkey you must me on drugs or something, me1 music is awesome but me2 music is far better and fits the darker story, the bonus music from the dlcs of me2 fit to gameplay and story.

  • call me crazy but this reminds me of the inception and dark knight themes...

  • @bigthad100

You're not the only one. It really sounds like the theme for Inception

  • Whether this be the work of Wall or Sound or not, this is some of the best ME2 music I've heard.

  • "Liara! Are you sure that strut will work?"

"It's illegal even on Illuim! It didn't come with a warranty!"

"But you tested it right? Tell me you tested it!!"

I only memorized that because I had to do that same part about 8 times on insanity...Shadow Broker agents are REALLY aggressive.

  • @Storm3Ryder BTW it's SHUNT not strut. ;)

  • @LieutenantAshler

Ahhh I was so caught up with the dialog i totally forgot, they sound similar though (: Thanks!

  • @Storm3Ryder That part was a pain in the ass but so damn funny.

  • @Storm3Ryder

i just got done doing the same a couple days ago.

    gratuitous amounts of bullshit.

  • @Storm3Ryder I can recite most of the game by memory : D

  • @Storm3Ryder

Soldier class (or any really) with Heavy Fortification will solve problems like that ;)

  • @Storm3Ryder

When I heard that convo, I kinda missed the omni-gel.

  • Just finished that part on PS3, pure epic and it wasn't that hard on Insanity :)

  • @valmarato

Forgot to mention, I was playing as an Adept. I did the mission right after I got Samara.

  • @Storm3Ryder Shooting the lighting capacitors really helps ;)

  • I fucking LOVE you Bioware....

"Don't you miss the good old days when you could slap an Omni-Gel on everything?"

  • @666SLAY3R666 "That security update made A LOT of people angry"
