  • To all the grammar Nazis bashing the grammar in this song- English is their second language.

  • this is a pretty good song

  • Powerful group, you can actually understand the lyrics, while the beat, the music delivers sort of a separate cerebral message of omnipotence!

  • Last time I saw my dad I was 3, I'm going on 20 next year and I can look back see how much better my life would have been if he were there. I think everyone who has a dad is lucky because a boy growing without his father is missing out on a huge chunk on his life. There are things I will never expirience like my first beer with him or the day I got my first car... Dad I can't say whether or not I love you, but I just really wish you would have been there atleast once.

  • @sathan503 I can't explain how much I know how you feel, I've seen my dad once, maybe twice a year since I was 4 and personally, I think that might be worse. Because I see him, and I know that he could be there if he chose, but he doesn't, and even if he did there wouldn't be a thing he could do to live up to the role of being a dad, just some guy I know... He may be able to share a beer with me on my 21st, but even if he did he would just be another guest at my birthday.

  • @sathan503 amen... except imma girl.... but i never knew my dad. :P

  • fuck no

  • love this band...if i ever get married im dancing down the aisle to this band!

  • to john perry, one of the greatest men i will ever meet he always knew how to make me laugh he taught me more than anyone ever could and ever will i love you dad <3

<3 volbeat

  • my father passed away when i was 2 years old I am now 18 everytime I hear this song I feel like Im with him, like Im reconnected, like hes still alive...

  • im sorry, but that band is from denmark and this song is for michael poulsen father no for 9/11!

  • @SuperPulkkinen A song can have many meanings to different people, you know.

  • @SuperPulkkinen The beauty of music and poetry is in interpretation. Sure there are specific reasons that they author had in mind but you can relate it to anyone or even an object if you like.

  • @SuperPulkkinen Michael Poulsen??? His Name Was Robert Poulsen - Un-named Space Monkey (Fight Club)

  • @flashdancer2 he said michael poulsen's father not michael poulsen -.-

  • @xeroxFIN I'm aware, I was just referencing something which was clearly missed.

  • @SuperPulkkinen what the fuck did u just say? XD

  • @SuperPulkkinen The good thing about songs are you can make it for who ever you want!

That is why music is so great!!!!!

It don't mater were your from they are singing it for the one listening!!

  • Wait...my comment has 99 likes...how is it not in the top comments? Maybe it just made it to the comment hall of fame.

  • @FinalEon WTF??? :D maybe! :D

  • @SuperPulkkinen typo alert! in the chorus you misspelled angels as angles

  • @FinalEon it is angels...not angles...lolol amateur....so sad

  • @FinalEon not if i can help, yah that's right i just pressed the vote down button :)

  • @FinalEon Your comment's got 99 likes, but a b!tch ain't one.

  • R.I.P popabear 11/3/11 love ya!

  • 8 people that absolutely dont appreciate music at all! Scients are taking notes on how to rock when playing this son

  • there is way too much trolls in the comments

  • @darkexplosives TEL ME WE TROLS ARE

  • @DigitalCobran sorry is that supposed to be english?

  • @darkexplosives VAT U TALK ABOT

  • @DigitalCobran your an idiot.i wouldn't mind but it isn't even funny

  • @darkexplosives HALO VERE U LIVE ALO?

  • The beginning kind of sounds like "Shine" by Collective Soul.

  • DAT IS ASSASSIN CREED ON THE PICTURE!!!

  • DAMNIT!!! This reminds me so much of DAD! These later days years remind my smell the thought of him. Fallin for so dark the years........

  • I agree with tastycracker, we spend more time arguing over good songs and good bands, take your tainted words else where

if you dont like the music or band, leave the site

dont talk about Politics, Religion, or the great pumpkin, leaves too much of a headache

  • The problem with America is right here on YouTube...every fucking song is an arguement...whats wrong with us that we cant all respect each others opinions and keep our negative ones to ourselves...

  • @tastycracker1

    Amen to that brother.

  • @tastycracker1

That is correct but that is the American way. Force your thoughts on others ( religion, politics, etc) until everyone thinks the way we do.

  • I just said I find this fitting for 9/11, not that this song is about 9/11.....jeesh......I didn't mean to start a problem with this

  • This is the first time I have heard this song, reading the lyrics it brought tears to my eyes thinking about my dad and how his days here are numbered. I love it when lyrics can hit you like that!! Great song writing, Love Volbeat, Just bought tickets for the Feb. 1st show cant fucking wait!!!

  • @mrniller1 Are you talking about me? Because I am a girl and I just had a argument with berkheim666 over this, that I said it from the heart.

  • great song great band

  • 1 of my ex gf's looked at my dad goofing off at a party and said she was embarrassed and wanted to go. I looked at her and said, "That man works 12 hours a day. He sticks by his family even when they become back stabbers. He gives his life to his family. When my mom was on drugs, he stuck by me and my sister. He deserves to goof off when ever he wants. He saved a family, what have you done? Critisize a good man?" She walked away, and I let her know I was done with her. Thanks for everything dad.

  • @BmoreSavage111 That takes true pride in your family. Most guys would cave in and listen to that bullshit. I truly admire you sticking up for your dad, you have good values.

  • @BmoreSavage111 what does this have to do with the song at all? haha

  • @KillaThreeMore The song is about his father.

  • @BmoreSavage111 Dude, I cried my eyeballs out when I read this comment. I don't get in to physical confrontations with anyone for any reason. But, if someone starts talkin' shit on my Dad, believe me, I will rip their damn head off. I love my Dad and would do anything for him. Cheers, brother!

  • @Zeppelinm16 I know how you feel man. If someone talked shit about my dad, well, I don't know. I'm not a violent guy either, but all of the shit he brought my family through, I couldn't help but let the douche who downed him know they are terribly wrong and made a mistake.

  • @BmoreSavage111 I admire you for being strong and honourable dude!!

  • @BmoreSavage111 wish i had a dad like that.

  • @BmoreSavage111 OH RAWH!!! Dads like that deserve alot of credit!!

  • @BmoreSavage111 That's strong bro.

  • VOLBEAT?

    YOUR BAND'S A POKEMON!

  • @chimera5x2 a pokemon that will kick your ass.

  • @mustangmaster200

i bet if it this had a rival band, it would be called Ilumise

  • Did anyone else think "That bug from Pokemon?" when they first heard of Volbeat?

  • @CrossKiryu wat bug poke'mon?

  • Comment removed

  • \M/ VOLBEAT \M/

  • Heard this first time a month ago,...just can't shake it...it haunts me... :) but i like it :)

  • is it supposed to be "angles" or "angels"?

  • song is great, but i wish to know-

becuase they are Danish, i had a lingering doubt in my mind,

that perhaps the grammer errors were not on purpose? probably were.

  • CRAP!!!!!!!!!! I broke the replay button. :(

  • since i heard this song the first time in my favourite techno/hardstyle disco - I LOVE IT (:

  • Now this is very good!!

  • My dad is 86 and his life is failing....he has always been there even in the worst of my days. I know he'll be there for as long as I breathe, watching over me. I'd be proud to play this song at his funeral.

  • @thewerewoelf Be strong :)

  • @thewerewoelf LOL his not so old??

  • @absolutdingle That's a horrible thing to laugh at. Btw, my great-grandfather died 78 years old. He had Broken Heart Syndrome, because my great-grandmother had just died at age 76

  • This song was written by Michael Poulsen, dedicated to his dad. It wasn't meant for 9/11, the Tsunami in 2006(?) or any other catastrophy or terror act. But I'm pretty sure nobody in the band would mind the fact that some people might think that it fits. As long as you know the real background story of the song. :)

  • @Metmusie dude. they were just implying that they think it's fitting for such events. they never said that event is what this song is about

  • it is im in the dew...not dirt

  • @insanebullet36 Dew? angels coming for you while your in the "dew"....? dirt makes more sense since an angel would come if your in the Dirt, as in Dead.... he just sings it in a way that sounds like dew...

  • Such a great a song!!

  • @TheBdl1978 Dude re-read my post, I'M telling THEM to let drop the whole 9/11 thing, the kicking ass thing was sarcastic.

  • @Poker928

well then the joke is on me

  • angles..lol

  • SO I WILL RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE YEEEEAAAAAHHH!!!!!! ARE THE ANGELS ON THE WAY IM IN THE DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIR!

  • heh, look at the bar of dislikes and likes, the white space dividing them apart is bigger then the size of the dislike bar, thats a good sign

  • 7 people felt and didn´t stand back up i: !

  • i think i killed the replay button xD

  • Youtube's got some nerves stopping the song to load while i'm listening to it!!!!! I love this song... You can really hear that he is singning with he's heart in this <3

Det er sådan noget der gør mig stolt af at være dansker ^^ Volbeat i hjertet for evigt!<3

  • Apparently 7 out of 1100 are abused by their fathers??? What kind of heartless bastard can dislike a song like this, honestly?

  • i dont no if there is a heaven or not not,but may they for ever have peace in the after life

  • So we meet us again Replay Button :D

  • the guitar solo in this song always gets me motivated

  • its completely random that egyp central is in the related videos tab

  • from what i hear these guys will be playing with Motorhead and Megadeth on the Gigantour. =)

  • Great song. Love Volbeat <3

  • eagle eyes sounds like legolas :D listen it

  • my boyfriends favorite song:)

  • what an amazing song.

  • I love the song but some of the words are misspelled. :)

  • @jtmorse74 hahaha, i saw metallica in concert and Volbeat opened.

  • @jtmorse74 My brother linked me to another song by these guys and I was like... THIS SOUNDS LIKE THAT GUY!

So I looked at the "related videos" and I found this :D

  • YAY I FINNALY FOUND IT!!!

I love this song so much! I had heard it on the radio and they never said who it was.

  • Hey learn how to spell!!!!!

  • I find this fitting for 9/11. Cause so many lifes lost and those left alive were laying in the dirt screaming and crying and bleeding. Rest in Peace all those who have lost their life in 9/11. Thank you those who rushed to the scene to save those trapped. 9/11 will be never forgetten and those who lost their lifes will stay in the hearts of many

  • In 20 more years will people still be going on about 9/11? seems like its just opening old wounds over and over again every time someone feels the need to mention it, just make people sad and weepy and the family's remember all the more. No disrespect to those who actually lost loved ones.

  • @Poker928 It actually is necessary. Its apart of who we are as Americans. We didnt just lay down and take it. We went out there and kicked ass and got the bastard who was responsible for that tragic day. I think we all should remember that day and those people who passed, and those who risked it all to save them, every day as a reminder of how tough we really are and of what we can do as a nation. GO USA!!!!

  • @MrFLswag Seriously? If 9/11 is all we have to define who we are as a country then we are screwed. Of course we are a broke ass nation now with trillions in debt ...but hey ... kicking ass is all that really matters right...? <_< Come on now, they didn't go on about pearl harbor or any of other large scale slaughter as much as we do about this one... and I guess I have my answer... Young ones think its what defines us as a nation. One event huh? What were we before? Move on.

  • @Poker928 i agree. could you imagine if we still had our panties up in a bunch about D Day?

  • @Brokenheartedmidnite copy and pasth bitch

  • @berkheim666 Excuse me? I was honoring the fallen of 9/11.

  • @Brokenheartedmidnite So did the one you copyed from. thumb up whore.

  • @berkheim666 I never wanted thumbs up, did I say thumbs up if you agree? No I did not, and I never meant to steal this from anyone I said this from my heart since 9/11 was a tragedy. And you don't know me, and I can consider this bullying and report you because in my state this is illegal. And your just pathetic, picking on someone. So if you can kindly fuck off and leave me alone I'll appreciate it because no one asked you to post on my comment. Have a nice day jerk.

  • @Brokenheartedmidnite umad bro?:/

  • @berkheim666 -.- no I'm not mad, I'm just frustrated with douche bags like you that have to comment on an innocent post.
