  • oh yea and lots of people dont believe im in the army, enlisted when i was 17 and in high school, now im 20, and my MOS 19D

  • dear sir, first of all i would like to say, that bravo.... you show that man whos boss. lol but yes you are correct but i do have something to correct if you dont mind, yes in SDM school we use the m16A4 for training, and if you get the chance depending on class time, you might use the m21. now when going overseas, depending on chain of command, we were issued the m21 which is a 7.62. so technically you are right, but so is he lol. but good video! i went to SDM in camp robinson arkanasas

  • hey miller in the marine corps what u have there would be called a "west coast sam-r or dmr basically a regular a4 with a compass lake barrel with 1x8 twist and a nm trigger :p

  • I went to Army SDM school in Jan 06 before I deployed. Most of what he is saying is true per the fm. However, when at the school we were required to qual with iron and optic on both known and unknown distance ranges we were shooting from 615 yards+. We trained on a stock m16A4 with xmas tree acog. Deployed with modified m4 w Acog and trigger/ammo upgrades

  • Thanks for the video. I think you presented your case very well. The haters just need to STFU already. Please keep making the vids I look forward to your tutelage as I am a bit rusty on the intel...(LOL) Thank you for your service.

  • Thanks for not being a google ninja, if I dont know something for sure I dont say it, seems your the same thanks

  • "and them the sniper will take over after that for the longer shots"

This kid sound like an expert on infantry operations. (yes, that was sarcasm)

  • Sooo lemme make sure i get it...

If you SUCK at shooting... get an expensive ACOG? :P

Awesome video dood, i don't get alot of people who swear by optics.

And accurized irons are sick, probably should try em.

But again if i gotta Pick up a dead mans rifle everyone should know normal BUIS.

Trolls need to YouTube giveaway their guns n furniture :)

  • i just watched his video and now its time for me to go to the 600 and start filming. i'll try to grab a team mate and go.

  • @danthman114 I'm getting info on a place I can also shoot out to 600 meters. If anything, there is a range about 40 miles away from my house that supposedly has a 500 yard opening up real shortly.

  • 5.56 Nato or .223 Rem is easily accurate enough to be used as a DMR Round. True it may not have the punch of a .30 caliber BUT I don't think anyone who gets shot in the face is going to say "Hey no Fair That wasn't a 30 cal" Because they will be just as dead as if they were shot with a 30 cal..There are guys on here sniping rabbits at 400 yards plus with .223 and I can Tell you a rabbit is a LOT SMALLER Than A Human. Great Video Miller. Nice AR.

  • Man some times you just gotta take into consideration who the dispute is coming from someone who has to bribe his subs to get him more subs before he starts making the 2000 yard shots he claims he can do...LOL Do not waist your time anyone who would make a video trying to dispute your D.M.R rifle because he has more then once came off as a total ass in his video's..

  • Miller no one listens to 155 and his group of butthurt trolls, i dont know why you bother...but it is funny when you show what kind of fucktard he is...has he bothered to shoot that rifle yet...oh no wait thats was his patheic attempt to E-beg for subs...what a cocksucker

  • ACOGs and EO-Techs are great but the thing is they are electronic devices susceptible to failure. When they fail and people havent practiced with iron sights now what?

  • Mark 12 = 5.56 every squad had or was suppose to.. They had Leupolds bipod and a silencer

  • Good video. Certainly informative and I think you beyond schooled the critics. As for eotech; they're good optics, I own two - 517.A65 & XPS3-0 (bought them from Cabela's on sale awhile back). Never tried the aimpoint so I can't say how they'd compare, but aimpoint gives you more battery life. Both are expensive. If I had a 20" AR15 build, and I was on a budget but wanted a quality optic, I'd go with a leupold Mark AR 1-4x20mm.

  • What are the specs on your AR. Make, barrel profile, twist, also what ammo do you shoot at long range and what size NM aperture are you using? Thanks

  • you have my respect sir! and i respect how you encourage that everybody and anybody can learn to shoot as well as you and others

  • How's the trigger on that puppy?

You might want to try a RRA NM trigger to go with the sights. Makes a huge difference...

  • @wwlutherie I thought about upgrading the trigger group to something with a better break.

  • @millerusaf RRA NM is < $100 and take 10 minutes to install. Made the mistake of building my 2nd AR without it and it was a mistake. I tried to stone the engagement surfaces of a standard trigger. It was nice for a little while... then I could have gone to jail... :) Glad I only had 5 rounds in the mag!

Sems like you're doing fine with what you have. But I would think that a better trigger could qualify for another "accurizing" point... :)

    later

    rich

  • @millerusaf my issued fn m16a2 from the base team has a jewell trigger. its ok but there are better ones.

  • I have to say miller you roll withthe punches jut fine---even if there fluffy bunnie punches.

  • So let me get this striaght you used a magazine that anyone can purchase, to argue your points with 155? Why not use your bootcamp issued field manual to prove your case on ALL the issues in doubt. Also in the Corp, all Marines in a squad/platoon/ the United States Marine Crop (OORAH), are trained as marksmans. During my tour, I have never seens an advanced version of the M16 as mr.hermanpotato suggests. Finally, the M16 never gets referred to as an AR in the millitary.

  • @charleskro1 FM 3-22.9

  • @charleskro1 During what time frame and what unit where you in the Corps? I was in 1/6 2001-2005 our battalion had 3 SAMR rifles assigned to each platoon. the MK12 is now the assigned rifle for DM's. And yes every Marine is taught to be a marksman but Designated Marksman is a billet held in a Marine rifle squad, this is a Grunt who is given extra instruction in scoped rifles and target identification and gives the squad the ability to detect/engage threats using a precision weapon system.

  • Lol Fk the trolls lover you videos and finally more of your videos over 2 mins :D keep making longer videos <3 thanks for your videos!

  • Like really.... even Travis Haley, during his stint with Blackwater, used a 20'' 5.56 rifle that just had optics on it..... I personally would prefer 7.62 if I were behind the gun, but 5.56 is absolutely nothing to sneeze at....

  • I'm a big fan of the Eotech. Fine 1 MOA dot yet easy to aquire. Only down side is weight, and only 1/3 the battery life as the Aimpoint.

  • i love the attitude of some of the people ididnt either i knew you were right

theres nothing wrong w proof showing the facts 155's mos was artillery why the hell dont he talk about that WTF all he does is bust peoples balls about stuff he never did

5that would be like me busting the balls of a brain sergeon for the way he made the first cut in a operation

  • my platoon was one of 3 that tested the Squad Assigned Marksman concept for the Marine Corp and i have completed the SOTG DM course. Typically USMC DM rifle is just a service rifle with a free float stainless barrel, a ACOG or Leupold Mark4 and a A1 trigger group. I think your rifle is close enough to or could be called a budget DMR, anyway your personal DMR is the gun your most accurate with out past 300 yards. M14/7.62's are used in very limited supplies as a DMR and are not the norm.

  • a SDM might be issued any type of SDR within SOPMOD NAVSPECWAR The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division might put together

  • I find it funny how people can fix their mouths to say bullshit with a straight face. lol, who needs to read/research on a topic?!

  • how come you didnt go with a free float handguard?

  • @i7q Don't need it :)

  • i was looking to get a AR-15 at a local gun store is $799 to much for a new one?

  • @riverway4 build your own stag reciver $99.99 model 1 sales rifle kit contains all other parts 465-799 depending on the type rifle model 1 sales dot com look em up

  • @theinfedel Agree. Model 1 does have some cheap stuff. I think I may build up a 16" AR in the future. It certainly would be fun to see how cheaply I can do the build with today's prices (AR related stuff has dropped in price it seems).

  • @millerusaf its all quality E R SHAW barrel unless stated there bull barrel selection is good

    many different flavors

you can build any rifle you want 16"-18"-20"-24"stainless-chromemoly-fluted-heavybarrel-government contour

    lightweight-also pistol parts

  • 155pewnipeter said "DMR are not equipped with irons". then he said "DMR have irons, but those are for backup only... DMR's are Scoped Rifles chambered in 7.62 Nato..."

" there is not one DMR in the U.S. Army, or Marines chambered in 5.56 Nato. LOL!"

    i posted

Special Operations Forces of both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, is a heavily modified designated marksman variation of the AR-15/M16 line , and is chambered for standard 5.56x45 nato

small arms review magizine a military mag

  • 155 also blocked me and changed his settings so only his friends could comment wout his approval

he said also"Good job! If he blocked you then that means he knows you are right, and you won the arguement, trust me he did the same to me long ago. I handed him his @ss not long ago in regards to precision rifles and marksmanship, and he immediately blocked me and cried like a little b#tch... Good job when he blocks you, with him it means you won! ;)

155Millimeter 9 hours ago" now whos a bitch

  • @theinfedel He quoted almost verbatim from Wikipedia. He messed up with that video and exposed himself as a Wikipedia/Google ninja...lol.

  • @millerusaf funny i think the whole wiki/google ninja shit is crap he did not use wiki ill say it i did they useFM also and some small arms review mags and sopmod update articals and other websites its about knowing the info and prooving it like carlos hathcock used a M2 browning 50bmg as a sniper rifle

my beef with him was if you wanted to build it that way who was he to say you could not use it as such its been done that way

hes a asshole i wanted to shut him up

  • I ran iron sighs as SDM in the Marine Corps.

  • I wonder if he will make a response before he goes to day care today?

  • miller i think he said that because all marines shoot out to 500. who knows...

  • good video

  • no coasters?

    (here on YouTube)

  • Son, You really should get some of them optics, so when yer iron sights run out off da batteries, you have sum kinda backup.

  • screw the haters, millerusa rocks!

  • optics can make things easier, but the more you rely on expensive toys, the more difficult time you will have when you no longer have a fancy scope.

  • I attempted to post the URL to this PDF file but kept getting an error message. Please Google Major Thomas Ehrhart.

This is a "white paper" written by Major Thomas Ehrhart, US Army, in 2009, addressing the issue of rifle applications beyond 300 meters in Afghanistan. Your comments would be appreciated.

  • @corpsman1968 There are some issues with the 5.56 at longer ranges. That is something that needs to be addressed. I've read some interesting AARs regarding the 5.56 issues.

  • FUCKIN PWNED !!!!!! THAT IS ALL..KEEP IT UP MILLER !!!!!

  • hello.miller..can,t say much ,im an ak shooter.my self,so idont count in the"sdm"role oh andwait i shoot a s&w sigma as aside arm..hahaha ..every bodyknows you cant hit anything with acheap set of tools....you need c.o.d. and m.o.h ...hard ware tobe taken seriously..hahaha.. these cats are ajoke .i've witnessed first hand ,the truth .great vids bro god bless god speed.

  • When an all your "facts" can be dismissed just by looking at a field manual you should question the source of your 'facts".

  • Very interesting. Have always believed that a marksman rifle should be equipped with the best irons the rifle will support, largely because optical devises are inherently fragile compared to irons. Am a bit puzzled by your reference to the "service weapon". If a rifle is issued in numbers to combat arms troops does that not make it a "service weapon"? I realize this may be semantic hair splitting, however a retired friend tells me DMR rifles issued to his Marine infantry unit in 2005 were M14's.

  • @corpsman1968 There are M14s issued as DMRs. The issue in this video was a few people wee telling me that 5.56mm DMRs did not exist. I used the article as an easy way to prove my point that they are issued and do exist. I've seen them first hand, and have talked with a few SDMs using them (last fall).

  • That prick blocked me,he can't stand the truth.what a loser,he needs to get a life.

  • I think you just sold me on a bcm 20 inch for my new AR build. is your barrel government profile or hbar just out of curiosity ? sorry if you have already answered this question

  • Can't really speak from experience on this subject but from what I can see and have read you owned him.

  • I got ur back miller...my cousin did 3 tours and he's a SDM and he even says 5.56, and your right...just gave 155 a lil piece of my mind on his comments lol...keep up the good work!

  • Seems like the SDM's use m16's. But I thought normal infantry was switching to m4's. I don't pay a lot of attention to the military but my marine neighbor used an m4 with an acog he was not SDM just infantry.

  • LOL Owned by a military field manual

  • Wow, that really is a nice looking AR. I was originally going to pick up a carbine length AR, but I might just have to reconsider. Damn cool AR.

In regards to the video, I ultimately have this to say: you're in the service, they're not, they're the mall ninjas/internet warriors, not you. Keep on rocking, pal.

  • I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT 155CLOWN SHOOT SHIT OUT IN THE FIELDS EXCEPT AT A INDOOR RANGE. CALL THAT GUY "THE CLOWN SNIPER".MAKE IT CATCH ON HE GETS ON MY NERVES.

  • That guy is such a jerk.. i think we all know who.

Anyway, you should make a cardboard cutout of a revolver and shoot it.. would be fun.

  • You tell 'em buddy!

  • @VaperSteve1975 If anything, the pictures speak louder than words. All those pictures of actual SDM training in that article, and ALL the rifles were AR15s chambered in 5.56mm.

  • Ar15.com has a lot of people that are full of it. But under the articles section there is a report written by a soldier who went to the army SDM course. You might find some more info, I can send a link if ya can't find it

  • i like that you actually shoot your weapon he is sipping coffee at the table. i really like that ar you have. might get me another ar now lol

  • @StiThis1 Get a full size AR. You won't be disappointed.

  • as i commented on your vid yesterday, and to help support your "case", most are unaware of the capabilities of the 5.56. i watch yt mostly for entertainment and it is often comical, all the armchair warriors that like to try and provide instruction. you can read for education & entertainment, but until one has been shot at, they just dont get it. keep up the good vids.

  • @jwgbmp40 Agreed. Thanks for the comments, btw.

  • Don't waste your time on these idots, Keep making great vids

  • @MrAcoleman9595 More great vids coming your way. This video is a good video providing some good facts about DMRs and SDM training. :)

  • lol... that kid is funny. :)

  • 1st comment woo!! lol

  • @MrDijonward Second comment! woot woot!

  • @millerusaf dangit lol
