We import the engines from Japan. There is no kit, we do the installs....

these engines deserve a manual box. Makes a lotta difference in performance.

My 2L-T got a new lease of life when i put in a 5spd manual box. What a difference!

It's too bad Toyota didn't make very many diesel trucks for the US market. I've only seen a couple where I live. I find them better than gasoline.

That's pretty quick. I've got a 2L diesel in my Toyota Pickup, and it takes 20 secs to do 0-60.

I've got a 2L also. They only have 62 HP, but it's fine around town. I don't usually take mine above 60 MPH on the freeway, though.

japanese carmakers arent makin any diesels yet, tho. and here in cali, the emissions regulations keep the euro diesels from our dealerships for now.

o srry, i meant that they arent exporting diesels to the USA yet. its a real shame, because i drove an isuzu d-max (with the 3.0 engine) while i was in thailand, and man it was a sweet truck. it got the equivalent of 34 MPG and had loads of torque.

What truck did you use for this? I'm considering doing one on my '88 4runner. Mine has the 22r-e and manual transmission.
