The biggest triumph of Angel was that I begrudgingly ended up watching it after hating Angel, Wesley, and Cordelia on Buffy (well, I liked Cordy ok) and ended up loving them and missing them more than anyone on Buffy. I disagree with you completely when you say that Oz and Willow could have their own shows. They are good support characters but no way could they carry their own seperate shows.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. Buffy season 5 was the worst, and I think the worst thing they could have done was bring in Dawn. And I agree, I thought season four was pretty enjoyable too. Not for story reasons, but just because its so light hearted compared to the other seasons and it has some of my favorite episodes; something blue, superstar and restless. Most of the buffy series has some pretty dark story lines, but season 4 was a nice break from the too dark story plots.
s2+3 of buffy are hands down the best seasons on tv(opinion). it was the first show that made me anticipate the nxt episode. without B i would not be a tv fan, supernatural, qaf, angel, lost, heroes etc, i owe evrything to buffy. it was my generation and it was super cool to be a girl thanks to the slayer. but afta s2+3 preferred angel (expt musical ep in s6, and finale's of s5+7 of Buffy wer incredible). buffy will always be on top even after preferring angel. without buffy there is no angel!!

@nightwing9 when you become a vampire, the demon takes on aspects of your personality. when spike became a vampire, the demon took on his abiliy to love and his sense of honour. his humanity never really died when he came a vampire as opposed to angelus.

Both shows are AWESOME, I also love how the stories crossed over in each other. So, but that's my opinion.
Seasons 2 and 3 of Buffy were my favorite. After that I prefer Angel...simply because it has Angel =D. I adore the Angel cast so much more than the Buffy cast.

I love Angel from season 1-3 and 5. Season 4 is crap, horrible story arc imo, if they wanted to kill off Cordelia and Connor's characters they could have done something much better. Love season 5 but probably wouldn't love it as much without Spike. I was horrified when they killed Fred but liked the way they did it. And going back to something you said early in the vid, Lindsey, though not part of the core group, along with Angel are the only two characters to appear in the first and last epis.

I've been a Buffy fan ever since the movie (yeah lame i know) and when Angel came out I wasn't that interested in the show, i remained "loyal" to Buffy, I watched Angel too but it was the same for me watching it or not. Recently i bought the whole Angel series, and realized i should had given it a chance. It's a great show too, and honestly i can't say Buffy is better or Angel is better, both are unique in their own way.
I agree 1 hundred percent with you. I have all seasons on dvd of Buffy and Angel. I remember when i was a kid and me and my sister both saw Buffy on tv and it was the pilot of Buffy. I was hooked after watching that episode.

I thought season % was slow moving and strayed too far from the whole"little blonde girl in the alley kicks but" mantra that the show was suppossed too be about. It was taking a stab at growing Buffy up, but I think she just got depressed.

Also, in season one the First left her for dead in water and she drowned. In season 3 Cordelia made a wish and it came true. The episode was called the wish. The first broke her neck.
Then later on she jumped to save the world and she died that was season 5. Later on she was shot and was dead on the table till willow came in and took the bullets out of her and that was season six.
5 times? WOW! Didn't know that! Well actually the burning of the factory was in season 2 not 3! Ok, I got another old one for you, how or when did Buffy realize that Angel was evil?

All the seasons of Buffy were the best in the world! I love both Angel and Buffy, but Buffy was so much better. Angel just wasn't very interesting. I mean, Buffy KICKS ASS better than Angel. I may need to make my own Buffy vs Angel.

I love Angel from season 1-3 and 5. Season 4 is crap, horrible story arc imo, if they wanted to kill off Cordelia and Connor's characters they could have done something much better. Love season 5 but probably wouldn't love it as much without Spike. I was horrified when they killed Fred but liked the way they did it. And going back to something you said early in the vid, Lindsey, though not part of the core group, along with Angel are the only two characters to appear in the first and last epis.

xanders kewl anya was only kewl when they were together otherwise annoying, tara and willow were awesome, oz shoulda stayed on the show, giles was kewl 2. gunn was good as the street thug in s1 angel, wesley became more depressed than his boss i didnt like that, doyle should have stayed and cordelia shudve died in s1... oh and connor was a BIG mistake angel should have used a condom

I've been a Buffy fan ever since the movie (yeah lame i know) and when Angel came out I wasn't that interested in the show, i remained "loyal" to Buffy, I watched Angel too but it was the same for me watching it or not. Recently i bought the whole Angel series, and realized i should had given it a chance. It's a great show too, and honestly i can't say Buffy is better or Angel is better, both are unique in their own way.

I agree 1 hundred percent with you. I have all seasons on dvd of Buffy and Angel. I remember when i was a kid and me and my sister both saw Buffy on tv and it was the pilot of Buffy. I was hooked after watching that episode.

yea i agree. nothing against buffy,but she always thought she was so superior 2 everyone else...and she was kind of whiny. angel was interesting,and funny in his own way,and hardly ever pissed me off as much as buffy had. now i do agree that buffy has some of the better supporting cast,but over on angel i absolutely adore cordelia.and i adored doyle lol. but even though i stil love both shows,i would say angel is better also.

I agree with Norb0x about watching Angel 1st. you ruined the love story with that and first 3 seasons of Buffy.
oh and if there wasn't for Buffy, Angel would probably be still hiding somewhere and eating rats.
enjoyably dark? okey, Buffy is a human with feelings and Angel is a vampire with no feelings [when he's bad]. get it? . Angel was scary [insane scary] but it's what you expect of a vampire.

i started with angel first.not that i meant to lol. im actually glad i did.i gues i c ur point,but starting with angel first allowed me 2 c him in his own light,and that he could stand on his own without buffy.and it allowed me to just adore the cordelia character,cuz i couldnt get angry with her on buffy if she ever said something rude,cuz i knew how much she grew and just how funny and original she was. and i was never really a bangel fan,i was more of a cangel shipper :)

Yeah, i hated Dawn. But i too understood the need for her character.
I think Season 3 was my favorite, probably followed close by season 6 or season 2. I loved that whole "She went to heaven" angle that was played. I thought that was epic.

Thanks so much for this awesome review!! Funny how i never was really interested with this drama when i was in elementary/high school, but now that I am in U i finally decide to watch this drama and Im hooked! Its a great series, but there are things which I didn't like about this drama too. I agree with you Buffy can be a bitch sometimes, espeically her taste in man (Parker and RILEY the worst of the worst).

I thought season % was slow moving and strayed too far from the whole"little blonde girl in the alley kicks but" mantra that the show was suppossed too be about. It was taking a stab at growing Buffy up, but I think she just got depressed.

In season one this little boy had a dream and the dreams were real and Buffy was a vampire. A vampire means? Dead, living dead, but still dead.
Also, in season one the First left her for dead in water and she drowned. In season 3 Cordelia made a wish and it came true. The episode was called the wish. The first broke her neck.

Then later on she jumped to save the world and she died that was season 5. Later on she was shot and was dead on the table till willow came in and took the bullets out of her and that was season six.
