That moment at 2:20 where Jack says "I came back for you"--that would have been a perfect lead-in for Season 4 had RTD not been so monumentally stupid in killing off Ianto. After having had to kill his own grandchild to save all the children of the earth, the ONLY thing that could have brought back Jack was his love for Ianto--and Ianto could have pulled him through. Even Jack's caring for Gwen wouldn't have done that.

Yes, but maybe it will work out somehow... this weekend I watched again "They Keep Killing Suzie" from Season One and enjoyed (again!) the playful "stopwatch" chat between Ianto and Jack at the end of the ep. It got by me before, but now I'm starting to pay close attention to Ianto's offhand observation about how gloves (referring to the metal thing that brought Suzie and others back to life) come in PAIRS. Wondering now if RTD will use the other glove to bring back Ianto? & Tosh? & Owen?

I know--lacking new episodes we're all re-living the previous seasons! I love Captain John too, though he's a bad boy... but I think his love for Jack is real, and I wonder if RTD will use him to lure Jack back. I hope so! In my fantasy Capt. John uses the other glove to bring back Ianto, then uses Ianto's return to lure back Jack, which of course brings back Gwen (and Rhys) as well. No idea if they'll do something that, but I like the scenario. :-)
