There is no such thing as responsible ATV use. Every ATV/dirtbike trip into the wild disturbs wildlife and destroys habitat. Every trip causes soil erosion and subsequent siltation in streams.

I assume your girlfriends will use motors for their fun too...

What antics? You have no idea how I ride! I ride on Public and private property. I have NEVER been kicked out of ANYWHERE because we don't litter, don't blast new trails every 3 feet, and don't blast trenches into the ground.

Maybe I should have the "I don't enjoy it so neither should you" attitude you have, and stop letting hikers/nature watchers access the hill behind me by no longer letting them use trails on my property?

I would absolutely NEVER allow strangers access to my property. No hikers, no ATVs, you could be held liable for injuries sustained in trespass.

For every "responsible" ATV enthusiast there are about 5 irresponsible people. If you could see what they have done to the ditches and right of ways in my community with their noisy, dust-raising toys you might understand my point of view.

I agree that some ATV riders can be destructive and I would love to see them prosecuted, but most people are trailriders and cause no harm. ATVs are a great way to cover a lot of ground, to see things you would not otherwise get to see. If people would just stay on trails, things would be good.

Hiking an mountainbiking both leave trails, so you should be banned from nature? I mountain bike and hike, and I also ride ATVs. There is noting wrong with it, you just don't go blasting everywhere, you ride on trails. Lazy has nothing to do with it. You can go places by atv that are simply way to far to hike or bike.
