nice car doude, just got mine two weeks ago, but crashed. I should fix it in the foloving month, I have 1 questioin, do you have awd when you go reverse, I've heard that they dont have, that rear wheels turn of
Nice dude. Fix that ish up man. This is actually my buddys car. The syncro definatley works in revers. this car has made it thru almost 3 feet of snow.!
@mtbpsycho a syncro system will put drive onto the rear wheels (on a vw syncro) when the front wheels spin faster than the rear, as it will apply a torque to the viscous liquid within the drivetrain that will apply a torque to the rear half.
You will tend to find that this isnt true 4wd, as the rear wheels will never actually spin if the liquid if the liquid is not viscous enough.
@mtbpsycho if you think about it, it doesnt help with oversteering either, as when you turn a corner and the front wheels lose grip, the rear wheels begin to push you forwards without the diff turning one wheel faster than the other due to the slide going almost directly forwards.
this will feel as if the rear wheels are helping your front wheels avoid regaining grip and help push you forwards rather then the tyres gaining grip on the front wheels and turning the car.
@mtbpsycho if anyone has any disagreements please reply, as I cant see how the diff will force the car around, yet watching this video there's evidence of it helping over steer and understeer such as 2:45
@mtbpsycho@mtbpsycho syncros has freewheel segment installed inside the rear differential and it lets rear wheels rotate faster than front wheels without locking the viscous coupling but it has throttle control element and it locks the freewheel mechanism when in reverse gear
