Great movie! I just bought the twenty fifth anniversary edition. Oh man how I wish I could live back then as a twelve year old with those exact same friends and have that exact same treehouse. I almost cried after this movie cause it touched me deep in my heart and I have never actually felt that feeling until after this movie. And like in this trailer how he said these moments start ur greatest memories in ur life; he is so true! This is definitley my favorite movie. RIP river Phoenix.

I frikin love this movie.. My parents split up at the beggining of the year and I live with my mum and her boyfriend (who has a 21 year old son with the brain of a 5 year old) But my mum doesnt talk to me, literaly. The only time I could really feel happy was when I was with my best friend (sam) But I spent every day convincing him out of suicide, then we got into a fight. And he jumped infromt of a train the next day. I feel like I can relate to Gordie so much I can even write good stories

I was the same age these kids are supposed to be when this film first came out. I was touched by it then, as I am today. It manages to be poignant without being maudlin. I think it's because it's an honest portrayal of how young boys interact with eachother. The end of the film is now that much more melancholic, in light of River Phoenix's death. Yet another reminder of how tenuous life is. It seems to be all the more so the older I get. But back when I was 12.....I sure felt invincible.

Without a doubt one of my favorite movies of all time. There is often the speculation that old movies had terrible trailers, but had good stories and that newer movies have great trailers with terrible stories. This one right here had an amazing trailer and an even better story. I truly love this film.

@TheLANC95 Ah, but look at how Chris turned out as a crownup.He showed them he wasn't the no good Chamber's kid like the way the townspeople looked at him in that light. By the way Chris was based on a kid young Stephen King knew in real life who was always being balmed for stuff at school & one day he told young Steven"They never even ask me if it was me who did it.They just assume." That's when Steven King realised this kid had real feelings about that.
