They were like "I'm trying to turn the music off BUT I CAN'T MOVE!" which proves that they are not ready for this kind of music. Dude, this was recorded in 1967. This is one of the groups all those lo-fi, indie psyche bands emulate. I'm sure Animal Collective listened to this album a million times. You should check out The Silver Apples and Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd work if you haven't, all from the same time.
