This is just precious!!! Bowie is a real Ham!!! :) I have a Lutino Indian Ringneck myself and he is quite the talker and definitely the little clown !!! He is with me pretty much everywhere I go and he is a family member. He has his own special place at the table for dinner time and loves to just play and hang out with all of the family. I have several other pet birds too who are just as precious but Ringnecks are pretty special. It is wonderful to be owned by our birdies!!! Great video!! :)

we have 1 indian ringneck the same as Bowie (colour wise) but he has no feet because he was squashed in the nest when he was born, but he flies around inside and uses his stumps and beak to crawl around on the floor and table, he is so happy though :) PS Bowie is adorable <3

@kareli68 yes he was almost a couple yrs old, his ring is pretty much fully in now, he's 3 in March 2012.

I have 3 ringnecks. They are hard work. The boy talks quite a bit. The one I thought was a boy for 8 years (he's albino so doesn't have a neck ring, which is normally how you tell boys and girls apart) recently laid an egg. I wouldn't recommend them as starter birds.

@kareli68 wow you have 3! yes, hard work but they are such funny ones aren't they:) & not starter birds at all! although if you love animals & have been in contact with other birds than yes but not if you've never been exposed to them! the biting stage, ouch!!

Alot of people see my Lutino Ringneck when they come to visit and listen to him talk and his cute little antics and want to have one themselves but they dont realize the hard work it takes to keep these little guys happy, to train them, to care for them and most of all, spend quality time with them. IMO, Cockatiels are pretty good birds to start out with for hands on birds. Great comment you made here!! :)

I love watching your birds! But it does bother me a little that so many people are asking about where they can buy a bird like yours. I hope everyone realises that birds are individuals and require a lot of work and attention. Just because this bird has a very impressive vocabulary does not mean that another bird, even the same species, will. And there is a lot more to having a bird than one that can talk. There are thousands of birds that were and are abandoned and mistreated because of this.

I also help people on my fb page "parrotTalkBC" if they have any issues with their birds. i know ppl don't read profiles on youtube but mine has some 'important' information on there. ie--not all birds wil talk!

@TheMaziyar i'm really not sure how bowie learned to say sorry - maybe cuz i said it all the time when i felt like i did something wrong like dropped his toy or hurt him if i clipped his toenails. i really do think he knows what sorry is.

@100Predator no, i dont' recommend ringnecks as a first bird to own. They do require a lot of experienced handling during their first year as they go through a bitey phase & their bites are HARD!

He just started saying it....I think because everytime I did something where "I" was sorry...dropping his toy, him tripping or falling accidently, I would say "sorry!" and when I had to scold him for something he would put his head down & say "sorry". It might have been just the timing of when he learned to say the word, but I think he truly understand he is sorry LOL.
